The hotel is just beautiful the place is resplendent. However, a small problem arises for us: it was impossible for us to change from half-board to all-inclusive once the reservation had been made but this is only a detail, everything is fantastic and idyllic, even heavenly. The staff are really welcoming and always smiling. When we are there we forget everything else and we can rest and it seems to me to finish this opinion that the only rooms available here are only houses on stilts which makes the holidays more pleasant. I recommend this hotel because the price is well worth the quality despite being quite high!
Good day to you

Did resort for a day there off the Paul Gauguin cruise ship. Only issue was the amount of time it took to get there and their disorganization. The resort itself was beautiful. They had a great infinity pool and a lagoon for snorkeling. Very peaceful and relaxed. Stingrays come up to feed at 2 pm - or surprise you earlier. Did not see the rooms.

Went here in the summer of 2010 for our honeymoon....

Went here in the summer of 2010 for our honeymoon. It was an unforgettable experience. Staff, food, resort were all amazing. The water was perfect, the sand perfect, the view was out of this world.

The resort is also cooled by deep ocean water (from like 4000 feet). This makes the resort eco friendly, and was one of the first in the world to do this. The amazing spa included with the resort uses this deep ocean water, very cool.

The food was absolutely fantastic. I had creme brulee every night!

If I have any complaint, if you can even call it that, is the fact that the lagoon seems lifeless. By this I mean the perfect white sand extends out far into the lagoon, no rocks, no coral, nothing. I rarely saw any fish at all! I would say that is the point of the natural lagoon, to protect the environment from the forboading waves of the ocean o the other side, but my wife and I were expecting more sea life.

Don't get me wrong, it was an amazing experience, but this just suprised us. It really is a preference things as most people would not consider it a negative.

If you do want to see marine life, they have daily scuba diving excursions. I could write a whole review just for that! We saw 16 foot lemon sharks, as well as many other creatures. It was truly amazing, some of the best diving I have ever done.

It's been about two years since I went to Shinhaeng, but I have a lot of thoughts of wanting to go back.
Actually, I've been to Guam, Hawaii, Maldives, Pattaya, Kota Kinabalu, etc., but I've been to 10 places, but I like them too.. haha
But again, the first place is Bora Bora... Guam, Maldives, Kota Kina, and Hawaii seem to be in order. Hawaii is thre...
And in Thalasso, the young people who rent beach towels and snorkeling equipment?
I enjoy my work, help me well, and be kind..
Even though I asked for help from the 3 people at the concierge every day, they were kind to the end haha
There was also a Japanese person who helped me well and it's expensive, but I would like to say that it is the best if you choose for a new trip.
Oh and regret not overwater bungalows. Even if it's expensive, just do it. It will remain a memory for a lifetime..
Also, when I saw a review on the blog, you said that there are no Koreans at all. We are lucky. Maybe I saw 2 teams on the plane, but by chance? I stayed at the same hotel haha So, I ate with one team and did activities with the other team.

Lastly, be sure to visit the main island.. Beer snacks, etc. are inexpensive (no ramen), and there are many places to see and beaches. Recommended dream for renting a bicycle or motorcycle. We did it with free bikes that can be rented in Thalasso. The wife said that there is more romance If you are in a hurry, you can use a motorcycle. Anyway, it is very good to go downtown and shop at the local market or pearl shop. The shop in Thalasso was too expensive, so I just went out to look around it hahaha We decided to come back on our 5th anniversary^^ It's worth it!

(Eng) It has been 2 years since I stayed at Talaso. It was for our honeymoon.
I'm still.. missing BORABORA and Talaso. :(
I've been many place that is popular resort like Maldives, Hawaii, Kota Kinabalu, Gaum and 6 place more. but can't compare with BORABORA. just number one! also I recomended here to many guys who is leaving for honeymoon. Are you hesitating? Don't be!! just book and leave!!

Speaking of the Talaso, this place is top 2 or 3 as I know.I mean the price.
But I can say all staffs are far too generous.Bar guys, cleaning guys, porter guys beach guys, receiptionests, concierge guys especially japan staff is adorable. Although I bother her every day everytime even last day but she was always treated us with respect. I still appreciate her. Thank you!
Also they are good at english. I was working for Exxon and BP so I can't speak an english well but I can listen english very very well so I can guarantee!
I know this place is very expensive but you should't evaluation.. it's priceless.
Lastly you have to take a boat which for free charge and go main island around downtown.
There are many steet foods, supermaket, pearl shop there all cheap. but don't forget and miss the last boat time lol.
Do you want make special memory? just leave! lol.
We are gonna be here in 3 years.

Where to start? Our initial impression was quite good, although it was clear even from the pickup at the airport that the hotel treats different levels of guests differently. We ended up having to wait a very long time for our boat to leave More

Introduction was great, but room check-in was at 3 pm. If you arrive at 8 am, no Villa until 3pm. The king size bed is two twins beds put together, major misrepresentation of king bed in the suite. Heads up...the itemized expenses at the end are very basic, we found that all the happy hours drinks were charged to full price and we had to fix them. They will take your money if you don t ask questions. Your last day sucks, they send a bill the night before and forget about you as their guest, not a five star resort. Please consider the others on the island.

Nice hotel, but the charm doesn't work ... it's a factory, the customers are credit cards and the attention is focused on some customers and not others.
The local staff is of high quality but restrained by French managers who follow them.
One person works and three ask you how it goes, Too bad!
Staff's electric carts that require you to push yourself continuously is tiring in the long run
The Intercontinental is the hotel we liked the least during our stay in Polynesia.
The plus: the spa is really quality

we had to change rooms twice for various reasons.

we had to change rooms twice for various reasons.
1. villa 3xx. Experienced power outage, and AC stopped working. it took 40 minutes for the technician to arrive. Also hot water pipe is extremely hot; my husband got burnt.
2. Villa 3xx. Roof makes squeaking noises at night that woke me up again and again. Also two bathroom lights not working. Shower head leaking.
3. Villa 218. This one is ok. However the maid forgot to replenish toilet tissue and we run out of it. Waited 15 minutes for toilet tissue to arrive.

food: dinner was ok. Lunch was terrible. Burger was hard as rubber and not fresh. Salad greens not fresh either.

restaurant staff needs to improve English language skills.

For what you pay better to stay in another hotel, it is a paradise for everyone, but seeing the rest of this hotels Nothing to see, mediocre service, you pay more for a superior room with private pool and what you get is a scam, no staying in room 200, we have been before in another without a pool 237, and with better views and that none have mountain views. Throw money pay attention to me, better other hotels, and as I said the service seems bitter daily, you are in paradise but they do not make you see.

On arrival at the jetty you are greeted with the phrase * welcome to heaven *.

A beautiful well maintained resort with the most beautiful view of Mount Otemanu.

Everything is just right here.

The beautiful and big Overwater Villas.

The daily ray feeding in the lagoon is an unforgettable experience.

The staff is friendly and like the unobtrusive luxury of this resort.

Unfortunately, this paradise for Europeans is very far away and the hotel costs are in Bora Bora close to the pain threshold.

My husband and I spent part of our honeymoon here and were impressed. From the ride to the resort to the smooth and comfortable check in process, to our time in the spa, our service was phenomenal and we enjoyed every moment in paradise. Over water bungalow was breathtaking, and we were happy to spend most of our time at the resort. I can not wait to return.

The BEST location of Bora Bora. Great villas and resort facilities.
A few issues with the tidiness of maintenance of villas, such as lost floor boards and like warm fridge (which the staff told was ment as being only to slightly chill... Makes no sense for a fridge with Champaign and beer), but that is minor.
Again amazing location and views

The company has a terrible cancellation policy. CAUTION. If you have paid in advance and have a problem with the Airline, they will keep ALL of your money in an immoral and dishonest manner. Caution! Do not pay in advance.

NOTE: IN TIME: The company made contact with the ex-client, but even in the face of the situation, the "manager" did nothing. He took the money, even immoral and undue. UNFORTUNATE.

I was on this honeymoon in this resort and I consider it the most beautiful place I have ever been.
It is simply spectacular, beautifully decorated over water, with very well divided spaces: 80sqm a villa on the water. Private deck, sun beds and dining area all on a dream lagoon. Not only because it was the worthy conclusion of our honeymoon but because it deserved. Spectacular restaurant. Excellent service.
The staff is attentive and present throughout. I recommend it to anyone who has a honeymoon in Bora Bora

Fabulous hotel for sight of Mount Otemaru. Must book a diamond class room or above or the villa will not be facing the mountain.

Most overwater villas have shallow water to waist height of adults. This is fabulous for families with young kids, or like me, you prefer to sight the everything in the sea.

Villa itself is above functional to luxurious but perhaps not as opulent as Conrad Bora Bora which I also stayed in.

Spa is 30 percent more expensive than conrad. Boat ride transfer st about 14000 XPF one way is twice as expensive as Conrad.

Continental breakfast offered has limited selection and gets boring after the third day. The signature restaurant registration menu serving french food is however very good and beat its parallel at Conrad.

Room upgrade honored if you have an IHG ambassador card. I used the ambassador free weekend night for this hotel which saved a lot of money. When using the ambassador weekend, upgrade is not available for Platinum or Sphere member.

Everything weighted, this is a fabulous hotel for 3-4 days stay but I would switch surroundings / hotels beyond that.

I can not say enough good things about this place....

I can not say enough good things about this place. The views are amazing, the service is outstanding, they have a 2pm stingray feeding every day, a shuttle that takes you to their sister property, a snorkeling cove, water sports, a discounted breakfast which was offered at check in and many other exceptional services.

I ll make this as quick and informative as possible. This place had the best water villa rooms out of any of the resorts I saw. All come with a patio and a huge sun deck. You can t say that for all the hotels. (Sun Decks) Now the beach is nicer it looked like at the Four Seasons, Conrad and Le Meridian but not the villas. Only the Four Seasons, which has everything can compare and check out those prices! For the money this is the best place you can stay IMO. Ok to the details.

1.Sign up for there membership before going. (IHG Rewards Club?) They ended up taking us to like a nicer waiting area at check in and upgraded our water villa from a diamond to the Mountain View water villa. Check out the photos of our view with the mountain. The rooms are all amazing but the Mountain View ones are that much better.

2. Definitely take the shuttle to the sister property and go to the market. So what we did was check in, hung out till the sun went down. Took the 6pm shuttle there and 830pm back. The walk to the market and Lucky House restaurant are a half a block to the right of the entrance to the sister hotel when leaving the property. We went to the market stocked up on Corona which is $4 at the market and $13 at the hotel! And then grabbed a pizza at The Lucky House. If you aren t into overly fancy looking places then I highly recommend this place. The pizza was really good and I grabbed a 1 liter local beer for $13. That s a steal people this is like the most overly priced place in the world.

3. Get up early and enjoy your sun because the days go by quick and definitely check out that 2pm stingray feeding. The Meridian next door has a turtle sanctuary to see and the must do of the whole island is a half day trip with DiDi at Bora Bora Lagoon Services. Ask for DiDi s group if you go. The guys really cool and is referred to as the Tarzan of Bora Bora by his peers. That trip is a Must Do. We saw black tip and lemon sharks, manta rays, stingrays and lots of coral reef and fish. The area by the hotel is not a great snorkeling spot but the water is very nice.

4. Upon checking out we got a late 2pm check out and they offered day rooms for those leaving even later. The day rooms come with showers and a changing area.

5. When you get to the airport take a walk around the pier if you have time. We saw two spotted eagle rays and a ton of fish.
Enjoy and remember a plate of food is generally $30-40 U.S. and beer at the resorts are $8-$13 so happy hour is always recommend at the Bubbles restaurant at the hotel.

We stayed at this hotel for a week. The island of Bora Bora is wonderful, the location of the formidable Thalasso, with views of the mountain and lagoon with crystal clear water. The hotel service is good, but I expected better, in relation to the price. Very friendly staff, not great quality food. We also ate in the Coral restaurant, having read that the kitchen was delicious, but in my opinion nothing special. We did the excursions by private boat, in jet skis and in quads, all wonderful, for the seats and the service. Altogether the structure deserves, but I would not return there.

Truly a 5 star resort. The staff is very attentive and will cater to your every need. The food is good and the overwater bungalows are amazing. The view of Mount Otemanu is subjectively the best of any resort. The water is very calm on this part of the island which makes swimming very nice.

Best Hotel in the islands, best view, best bungalows, and exceeded all my expectations on customer service (special thanks to Claude in the Sands Bar for being so attentive to all the guests needs all the time) not like other Intercontinental hotels customer service; Tahiti island Intercontinental hotel personnel is very rude and have no manners, they don't let you seat on the restaurant beach side tables after checking out a couple of minutes before, even with an empty restaurant, they transform their attitude towards you like if you were an intruder, they also bother you when you have the do not disturb sign on the room door, they just don't care, a world of difference from Bora Bora (and Moorea stands in the middle) A+++

Very nice facilities but disappointed.

Very nice facilities but disappointed.

We stayed 3 nights (20-23) for our honeymoon in an overwater villa.

We were charmed by the beautiful facilities of the establishment. We spent a day on the moana which once again confirmed that the thalasso benefits from really high-end equipment.
A bonus for the beach boys who are very friendly and the service at the restaurant Le Sunset et au Corail. Really nothing to say!

BUT, we are disappointed with the personalization, and this is how a five star makes the difference !!
No attention or congratulations on our honeymoon. Not even a little note at the reception or in our room, let's not talk about a little present .. we had previously stayed in 2 and 4 stars and each time a little attention was left to us (cultured pearl in manava, fruit platter at the 2-star hibiscus hotel, I would remind you).
On each of our documents was mentioned honeymoon .. and we mentioned it quickly when we arrived.

We still reported it when we left because I find it sad for the potential new arrivals who are on their honeymoon just like us .. the receptionist is slightly apologetic but did not make any gesture for her. sorry ..

It s normally with these little details that a five star makes a difference and unfortunately we didn t get it.

FIVE STARS this resort is absolutely stunning. The view is perfect from no matter where you are at. The staff was super helpful. The entire resort is super clean. The spa facilities are 5 star as well. If your considering going to Bora Bora this is the place to stay! We will definitely be staying here again and will be referring all our friends and family!

Having travelled around the world, I'd say this place is by far one of the most beautiful. The IC team make sure you feel special, and this particular position on the motu and island is just about as close to perfect as one can get. Definitely worth going for the diamond water villa on the outer edge of the hotel, uninterrupted views across the whole lagoon!

The resort was beautiful! Perfect infinity pool with a view of the mountain. The rooms were comfortable as they were quite large with a living room, bedroom, and a large bathroom with separate tub. The best part is the patio with a table to eat or play cards, 2 lounge chairs, and a staircase into the water. We did a few excursions through the hotel - Scuba diving and jet skis. Both were great! We saw a lemon shark while scuba diving and learned how to break open a coconut while jet skiing! Also, there is a feeding time for the stingrays where they provide food and you can feed them yourself. Scary, fun and thrilling all at the same time.

We have been in this hotel in September 2016 for 10 days and we did not like the attention. The dinner menu was not extensive, so we had to repeat the same dish many times. The price-quality ratio is disproportionate. As for the language, they do not speak Spanish and regular English, which is why communication is difficult. As for the cabins on the sea they are beautiful and the views too. I would recommend it to go 3 days maximum because there are very few activities to do and very expensive. In addition, the central island is very small, it has 8 km of road so you can see it on foot in one day.

We were stayed at the IC Thalasso Bora Bora in May 2013 in an Diamond Otemanu Bungalow (end of pontoon). One of the greatest experiences of our lives. Service was fabulous, people were so friendly. My wife went to the spa and loved it. We will visit again.

One note for those who are going: Get a meal plan. Prices are steep and a meal plan will save you money.

Beautiful resort with a gorgeous view of the mountain across the water. Great attentive service. Villa over the water is simply wonderful. You can swim or cannoe from your own deck. But it is on the expensive side; a cocktail could cost USD27 and water taxi from the airport is USD70 per person (one way). Also the resort should ban boats playing loud music coming near the villas.

We just got here today and I am hoping to change my review. The seeing is beautiful and you can't beat the over the water bungalows. Service has been pretty good. Leah did a wonderful job helping my husband get an adapter for his CPAP machine. My main issue is that starting today (the day of our arrival) they charge 44 USD round trip per person to the mainland. This is very upsetting because when someone pays that much to come see a beautiful island, they want to actually be able to see the island and culture itself. The hotel I feel is just taking advantage of this situation and makes me sad. We will likely pay the nearly 100 a trip to go see the island because who comes all this way just to stay at the resort the entire time. Like I said, we are spending three nights here and I hope everything else makes up for this but it is a very disappointing start. The view is great though!

We stayed (unfortunately only) three nights at the InterContintental Thalahaso Resort & Spa in Bora Bora. It was just amazing and a dream. The resort is fabulous, the overwater bungalow huge and the service very friendly and helpful. We have only two improvements: The transfer from the airport is expensive, should be included in the price because you have no other choice to get there. And the resort need a barista because the coffee (cappuccino) isn't a coffee, it's more water with a little bit coffee taste. All in all absolutely great and we give a full recommendation. We will come back.

Bora Bora is one or the most beautiful that can exist, it is how a dream would say rather paradise is a unique beautiful place, its people are very friendly the town is small they live from tourism, it is a quiet place very cozy I know it is far But believe me, all the work you spend to go does not matter, all the hours of travel do not matter either because when you arrive all that will be forgotten and you will never want to leave there, I have a little respect for the planes and I went to get married and we had to take 3 planes but when I arrived, my amazement was enormous. I never thought that such a place would exist. It is surprising, I will not understand much in the comment so as not to bore anyone, but if I suggest you never miss the opportunity to meet Bora Bora put it at number 1 your plans will not be regretted and another thing I stayed at the intercontinental for my best of all greetings

The background vegetation of the resort is really...

The background vegetation of the resort is really lush and well cared for; the beaches are white, the water is low and transparent, with many tropical fish and even manta rays that come regularly to shore at lunch time to be fed by the pool boy, to the great joy of all the tourists who admire the show. An earthly paradise. So why a vote so low? The two stars are due to the structure and its management. There have been many (sometimes small but many) things that in a five-star resort (and what you pay for!) shouldn't happen. I could take the example of the room keys, one of which was working, the other, although we had gone to the reception several times to change it, it never did its job. I don't want to make a list of what didn't go as it should, because it would be long and, unfortunately, it also includes some points regarding hygiene, but I can't overlook how we were treated on the last day of our stay (departure from the planned resort at 18.00), when in reception they demanded the payment of the check-out absolutely at 11 am and not in the afternoon as we had asked to be able to include also the lunch of the same day that, in the end, we paid in dollars with obvious discomfort of the employees which, evidently, are not prepared for cash payments. Furthermore, before leaving the resort, none of the employees came to say goodbye, to thank us for having stayed there, no one 'celebrated' us, which, instead, happened another Polynesian resorts where we previously stayed. In short, the resort is very beautiful from a naturalistic point of view, but you only feel a number (paying) and not a person. I want to point out that in all this we have also met good people, professional, but very kind and helpful, who genuinely interested us and made us feel at home: Claudia, manager of the South Beach Bar at the beach, Charlene, the intern and maitre of the Reef Restaurant. If it hadn't been for them, I would have definitely given a worse rating.
If you choose this resort you will certainly not be hurt, but certainly you will have to adapt to certain situations that you might find unpleasant. My thought is that on vacation, and especially in a luxury resort, I should be pampered instead of having to adapt to what doesn't suit me. I therefore believe that the price / quality ratio is not in favor of this structure.

( below) Our ship came to Bora Bora in 2018. Back then I didn't spend the night at this hotel. We bought the one day pass to stay at the beach for a few hours. We went snorkeling or just chilled out here, and had a nice lunch. The day pass was a little bit expensive, but it was totally worth it.
In 2018, I followed a cruise ship to Bora Bora. I didn't spend the night in this hotel. We bought a day ticket to enjoy the holiday atmosphere at the hotel beach. We snorkeled here, sat in a daze on beach chairs, and enjoyed a lunch. The one-day pass is not cheap, but it is well worth the money.
