This is most definitely one of the top resorts in Bora Bora. Our over water Villa had stunning sunrise views with others offering the best spot for sunsets. The spa is a real highlight here and you can easily spend a whole day chilling and getting pampered there! There's a good choice of places to eat and drink. The snorkelling and water sports in general are excellent, you would expect for this location! The pools are lovely and the lagoons are stunning! Highly recommended!

Beautiful resort. We stayed here for one of the weeks in the French Polynesian on our honeymoon. Super relaxing with wonderful food and service. Make sure you don t miss feeding the sting rays! The bungalows over the water a super spacious, clean, up to date and the beds are very comfortable! I can t wait to come back for our 10 year anniversary!
Awesome hotel. Over water bungalows are gorgeous. Kaiaks and stand up paddle are free. Everything in there is too expensive. From drinks to dinner. You can have a free transfer if you go to the other Intercontinental hotel (le Moana) and get the free boat from there.
Great spot. For some reason all of the intercontinental hotels we stayed at during our honeymoon gave us bad room locations but after asking for our room to be changed they obliged. It's a bit frustrated that I had to ask and in bora bora people who had lower packages also got better room locations.
I would like to thank you for the 5 nights I stayed at the hotel .... it was the best hotel I have ever stayed in my life ... my honeymoon was wonderful ... I loved the hotel, the staff, the service ... the infra structure ... the cleanliness ... it was just perfect grade 10 ... thank you very much
I know understand why Drake said "I do not stay at the Intercontinental". You would think at this price the resort would be in better shape- you're paying to stay in a place that is extremely rundown and unsanitary. The food is subpar- but the service is worse. Except to be serving yourself constantly, yet still paying a service charge when you have to go up and order everything yourself.
It was such a disappointing experience that really hindered our honeymoon. Spare yourself the heartbreak and stay at the many other resorts that are significantly better in Bora Bora.
We had an absolutely amazing time at the InterContinental Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa! We visited over the summer of 2018 for our honeymoon and it was an absolute dream - everything we imagined and more for right after our wedding. The resort was peaceful, very quiet & the perfect size to have plenty of options and variety while still walk/be transported easily. The food was phenomenal, views were exactly as they are in pictures and even better, drinks are delicious and the huts are PARADISE! The customer service was also what "made" our experience - from day one of our time at the resort, all of the staff came to knew us by name. We constantly had friendly greetings as "Mr. & Mrs." which was fun since it was our honeymoon. We would love to visit the resort again soon, and would recommend it to anyone celebrating a marriage, honeymoon, anniversary or anything else special!
Excellent stay! The view is amazing and bathes all the good times spent here. The overwater villas are elegant and spacious (we came with our two daughters). The cuisine is refined and the staff attentive. Special mention to the pool boys !! They were very caring with our daughters the whole time of our stay.
The most amazing place I've ever been to by far. This resort is absolutely stunning, the staff is unbelievably accommodating and will make sure you have everything you need. As with everything in Bora Bora this place isn't cheap but from my research which was later confirmed by my stay here and exploring Bora Bora, this resort is the best bang for your buck. The location is ideal with a beautiful view of the peak on the main island. The food is fresh and there's enough restaurants so that you can eat something different every day.
One of the most amazing places on earth and worth every cent. You won't get a better view of the volcano then you will here. See some of my pics, they say more than I could explain here in words. Tip: take a day to use your privileges at the sister hotel (Le Moana) and when you get there walk down the dirt road outside the reception and take a right at the main road, just a few steps and there is a store that you can get your own beer to bring back so that you can avoid leaving your over water bungalow ;) Oh and resist the temptation to buy souvenirs at the local shops and wait until you get to the Bora Bora airport, much higher quality and cheaper items there.
It was our first stop in French Polynesia. We stayed 3 nights in an amazing overwater bungalow. The view was amazing, the room was big, clean and extremely comfortable. This is luxury hotel, so do not expect average price. Everything is triple. But, it's worth to have this experience. It was the first time we saw pillow menu which surprised us very much. Deep ocean spa is must see, I had beauty treatment and went out very satisfied. The only thing we were expecting maybe little more was staff, they were very kind and hardworking. However I didn't see harmony in the way if working. It's possibly due to employee turnover. But I keep apart the restaurant manager lady, from the first moment she memorized the names and preferences. There are several restaurants and food is delicious. I will remember this trip all mt life! Ia ora na!
After Moorea we wondered if Bora Bora would be worthwhile, and it is.... The Thalasso Spa is the more upmarket of the two Intercontinentals, and if your budget can stretch it then it is definitely worth it, the overwater cabins and the layout are just stunning.... Treat yourself..... you will not regret it!
I would really give 4.5 stars if I could. Only because the maid service in our bungalow was lacking. Everything else was awesome. Food and drinks are expensive and the service at the pool is not so great. It's Bora Bora. I don't know how you could not give this place 5 stars.
Excellent service! The staff is very friendly almost creepily so lol the spa is amazing. The view is breathtaking. The food is great. Be sure to have a mealplan or you'll be paying a lot for food. Lela was very helpful and friendly. Definitely worth it.
Food, service, rooms, cleanliness ... everything IMPECCABLE! Fair price for the service offered! We stayed in 3 hotels during our stay in Bora Bora (Sofitel, Intercontinental and Conrad). Undoubtedly the best was the Intercontinental (and it wasn't the most expensive!)
My husband and I vacationed there sept of 2016 and it was simply amazing. You will not be disappointed by the size of the rooms, PLEASE note that they are underconstruction for new rooms, but the do an amazing job of keeping the noise and bay and they are not booking the villas that are close to the construction. The food is great and there is something for every kind of palette, I would know because my husband is extremely picky eater and doesn't like any kind of seafood or chicken, so anyone else will be just fine, with 3 restaurants to eat from you will be taken care of. EAT the Panna Cotta, its amazing. While my husband and are fans of the St. Regis and the Four Seasons we didn't feel that any amenity was left out and the price was better. It is quiet place to really relax and re-center yourself. As for any recreation, the jetskis area must but the tour guide is great and will let you drive fast. For sure take advantage of the kayaks and the 4x4 tour on the jeep. They have a hike tour but its very steep and if you have great stamina then have fun. We loved it there and will be back every other year, Best time of year to go is their winter but the rates go up dramatically. The staff are very patient and polite. If you have never been to Bora Bora please note this is a honeymoon destination and there are not many children there at all. I have 4 children and im fine with kids, but most people there are couples only and you will not find children activities. Enjoy
Fabulous! Wonderful hotel on a motu opposite Bora! Very attentive staff, every detail is taken care of! Restaurants of very good quality! A splendid hotel to recommend 100%
Perfect Honeymoon! Heavenly! Reformed bungalows, excellent structure! Staff friendly and ready to help! Stand up paddle, kayak, snorkel, included tracks. 5 great restaurants, breakfast with variety and huge amount, unbeatable quality! Best trip of a lifetime, worth every penny!
The place is beautiful, its rooms are very good, the attention of its staff is very good, the meals are very good but the portions are very small. Not suitable for hungry like me.
BEST PLACE ON EARTH!!! I have been a bunch of places in my life including America, Europe and Australia but this place takes the cake. Unbelievable rooms set in the most beautiful setting in the world. 5 Stars is not enough.
Our stay was fantastic. From the villas, over the food to the super friendly staff, an absolute top hotel! Time flew by and we would come back anytime.
Perfection! The people are so nice! All the pampering. excellent restaurant, bar very well supplied, very nice and a barman super nice, who does not hesitate to make the discussion, when it is not the rush. In addition ... Bora bora ... should we develop? a superb lagoon and colors that are never forgotten.
If anybody is trying to find good deals on hotels visit HoteIR ven. com booked a hotel on there and they had the best rates anywhere!
Best place we ever been in the world. Best Hotel in the best spot of the best island in the world. They deserve the 5 stars for everything. Room, Beach, facilities, food, drinks and of course the best staff we have met so far. Perfect and amazing ending for our honeymoon vacations in the best possible place.
One major drawback was the lack of variety in meal choices at the resort. Staff was inconsistent. At times extremely gracious & accommodating, and at other times displayed a level of incompetence that would not be expected at a 5 star resort. The spa elevated the experience otherwise this review would have been 3 stars.
It was a room with very modern facilities. If the existing hotel was well expressed and friendly to nature, this was a very modern facility.
The air conditioning was great, and I loved the facilities inside. I was in the room at the far end, but it was impossible to get if I couldn't swim because the sea was so deep.
However, not all activities inside are too expensive and of high quality. If it is not a full board, etc., if you eat individually, you should expect about 120,000 won.
Drinks are also expensive. There are two types of burgers, so I tried both, but both were not good. Like french fries, there were sweet potato fries, which was delicious. It's good for snacks. If you like alcohol, it is highly recommended to buy it outside.
Airport<->Hotels have no other option than pay. Even going to check-in from the main island with the free regular shuttle of Intercon Lemoana <-> Thalasso was paid. If this is a fee, I don't know why I have to wait for the shuttle time there.
The quality of the buffet is much lower than that of a domestic hotel buffet. The price is well over 100,000 won per person... not recommended.
The stingray feeding at 2 o'clock every day is watching the staff feed. Strangely, at 2 o'clock every day, stingrays come from somewhere. If you are interested in feeding itself, we recommend that you apply for the activity separately with your local travel agent. It was possible to feed directly. It was very fun.
The swimming pool is in the middle of the resort. It was very good. Personally, the pool was much better than the sea. If you walk a little from the resort, the Pacific Ocean is perfect! It unfolds, but if you look at it for about 30 seconds, you will have to go inside the coral and come back.
Oh, and I have cockroach medicine in the room. When you arrive, it is recommended to spray every corner in advance. There were cockroaches..............
Pros: Modern facilities, resort view over Mount Otemanu, swimming pool, friendly staff
Cons: Expensive, but poor quality internal food. Expensive access cost.
My wife still raves about the vacation today. It's like the pictures. But be careful: the transfer from the airport costs 200 extra, without which you cannot get to the hotel.
They have the best view of the island, that s why I chose to go there. The property actually is not very big, they have one main restaurant and one pool (that I could find)
Comfortable hotel with good facilities and good staff. Romantic place, great to enjoy with your love, in the quiet of your bungalow. Beautiful wedding chapel Good lake in the chapel area for those learning to snorkel Hotel of this size raises the question of the options and variety of products offered for lunch and dinner. There are few options and they are not cheap. Tb do not clarify much when you contract option of coffee + dinner together and the lodging, because for some dishes still charge additional. Only worth pre-booking the option of dinner if you make a point of formal dinners of 3 courses (entry + main + dessert)
I have already left an "honest" review for one of their restaurant which I visited as soon as I had arrived. After my staying there, I realised that the unpleasant memory was just the beginning.
the 7 most unforgettable days of our lives. every dawn is a mural of colors and sensations. the staff and the hotel are at the height of EDEN. paradise on earth !!
The over-water bungalows are amazing, as is the resort. My only complaints are that the food was not great (for my taste), and everything here is expensive. The lagoonarium is great, and went on a couple fun dives with Topdive. Loved this place!
My husband and I recently returned from our honeymoon and our stay at the InterContinental Bora Bora Resort Thalasso Spa was extraordinary. From our welcome to our departure every staff member we encountered was helpful, kind and gracious. The service was above average and we were blown away by the excursions we were booked on. We can't wait to return to this magical island!
Amazing. First time in Bora Bora and definitely would come back. The only downside is that transfers to the main island was almost 35$ per person round trip, which means we were stuck at the resort. The food was okay but don t expect much. The scenery was amazing as we stayed on the overwater bungalow. The walk to the main part of the resort was pretty quick.
My dream vacation!! It was paradise, we had a great veiw of the volcano. Got to feed the manta rays. They are quite famous at the resort as people feed them on a schedule, and you can even pet them. The water taxis were nice , The only thing we didn't like was after a certain time there is a charge. I would recommend going off resort to pick up a few things They have a little market with snacks, alcohol and other stuff. We had a fantastic time would definitely recommend it.
We got married here and it was the most magical experience of my life. Bora bora itself was everything you d ever dream of and imagine but the resort and staff went above and beyond our expectations. We absolutely will be back and recently recommended some friends who 5 years later had a great experience too. I d recommend spending at least 5 days here and really enjoying the bungalow experience.
Excellent resort!! Staff is friendly and attentive. There are daily activities and ray feeding times which are exciting! There is happy hour special at the bar around 5pm.
The bungalows are amazing! However, the cement on the support which the bungalows stand on are starting to peel off. Also, some of the ladders at the back of the bungalows into the water are kind of loose. Management need to look into these things.
Is one of the best hotel that I has been. I read a lot of review previous my trip to know what to expected. My son Bryan love it. I was impressed with the service because I read that they only provide you with one bottle of water and you need to pay the rest. They gave us one water bottle every day and every day they deliver a snack for my son. The room was elegant, spacious and clean. I like that I don't have to worried about shark in the water and my bungalow was the first (I don't know how to swing) so was shallow clear waters. The pool was no cool so my son and I spend good amount of time there. Prices for food and drink was reasonable for the place since a beer cost the same as the airports. The Reed restaurant has the more polite and costumer service oriented people and the buffet was diverse and plenty (thank you to the lady that make my omelet every morning). They remember us by first name. They look like they want you there. From pool guys to front desk people they make our one week vacation something to always remember. "Maeua"
Besides being the most gorgeous place in the world, the staff were very accommodating. They always say hi and introduced themselves. We decided to go parasailing at the last minute, and they organized everything from transportation to getting vouchers.
