Top address.

Top address.
Good location, extremely attentive, friendly and professional staff, very stylish decor, high and large rooms. Everything fits here. Clean, amenities, bed, very quiet. Had a fantastic view of the blackbird.
If you are looking for an upscale, five star stay, this is the place for you.

I love this hotel. It is very grand and fancy, but the staff are really friendly without being stuffy or obsequious. Wonderful breakfast. Is it worth the 38.50 Euros? Probably, if you stay long enough and eat enough (our have enough Moet). Good room service menu. I like that the minibar has Gruner Veltliner, my favorite white wine, and unexpected in the Netherlands. Nice indoor pool. The gym is small but it is situated right at canal level so it's fun to watch the canal traffic as I run on the treadmill. The location is a bit outside of the main tourist center, but I like that it is a little quieter, and getting into the more central part of town is a beautiful and short walk.

Beautiful hotel, excellent service. Unfortunately they are undergoing a restoration. We were put in a room were they are working outside. We requested to move elsewhere in the hotel but they couldn t move us. From 8:30 onward every day there is loud hammering, sawing and banging. We can t even open our shutters ( no natural daylight) because there are men walking past our windows on scaffolding. So much for a romantic getaway with a room on the canal. This was very disappointing!!

The hotel is very classic and amazing, when we got there they gave us a free upgrade to one of the rooms, there cleaning services were excellent and they had plenty of food options in there room service menu, the hotel was near to the old town approximately 15 minutes of walking. The room had air conditioning but it was not so cold yet fine.

The Intercontinental Amstel has a great location just on the canal and only about a 10 minute tram ride from the station or a 20 minute taxi ride from Schiphol airport. The hotel is quite small but have some great period rooms with excellent minibars! Don't miss a drink or some food at the bar facing the canal as the view are gorgeous

EXCLUSIVE STAY ON THE AMSTELL RIVER!

EXCLUSIVE STAY ON THE AMSTELL RIVER!
The hotel is where the celebrities stay when they visit Amsterdam. I know why now. Very beautiful, private, and within walking distance to everything. It is very exclusive and the price reflects that in both room price and at the hotel bar and restaurants. $$$

Just stopped by on a sunny but coldish day for a hot choco and done apple pie. I was not disappointed. Although the prices stretch your wallet to it's limits a little bit, the service is exactly what you expect from an Intercontinental hotel and everything was delicious.
Try their terrace for views over the Amstel river and the passing boat cruises while you enjoy some sun.

We were allowed to interview the housekeeping manager of the Amstel hotel. The staff was very nice and welcoming and we were also allowed to film in a few rooms. I am convinced that in the hotel they do everything to make you happy. As far as we have seen, top hotel!

An ingenious hotel, the building from the time of Empress Sissi and yet equipped with all modern amenities. The food is excellent, one of the restaurants even has stars. We spent some very pleasant days in this hotel.

The hotel in in a great location. It's convenient to the metro and all the museums. All the public areas in the hotel look great, but the rooms are in need of renovation! The chairs are thread bare and the carpet is old and worn. For a $1000/800 euros per night you would think the rooms would be in better shape. One more thing was the curtain had a cigarette burn in it, and we don't smoke.

On the banks of the Amstel River is the InterContinental Amstel. As you step into the hotel, you ll be welcomed by elegant marble floors and 19th-century staircases. Restaurant options are abundant at the hotel from Restaurant La Rive for French Mediterranean cuisine to Amstel Brasserie for seasonal dishes. Rooms come with lavish furnishings, and suites have private balconies where you can admire the views.

Location: Just a short walk away is the Royal Theatre Carre. A ten-minute tram ride will take you from the hotel to Dam Square and the Royal Palace.
