I got the job out there as a reline specialist a month after I graduated high school, this was one of the greatest first jobs I have ever had, I would go back in heartbeat no questions asked. This job allowed me to get my license and very first truck! I'm very grateful that Intalco gave me the opportunity to work for them! I really hope they reopen at some point this year.

Too bad they permanently shutdown, a lot of my family worked at Intalco. My Grandfather started working there in 1969 on the Potlines, and retired in 2001 during another shutdown. I was able to work on the Potlines as a operator, a one of a kind job, no other like it. Hopefully America's Aluminum production comes back to life soon, a lot of families need it.

I was there for almost 6 years. The best thing about that place are my friends. The work is easy work. It s just hot and the hours are crazy. If you want to buy a house or save up a ton of money, this place will help with that. As far as a long lasting permanent job, it s not a viable option. Constant talk of shutdowns, never ending tours of impending doom, along with rotating shifts. Make married life and wanting a life very difficult. If you are able to endure all the distractions and stress and very high work load, make it up to the Casthouse and get on shift 4. Don can be difficult, but he is the best supervisor there.
