Inkleys Camera and Image Reviews

This is the new version of Inkley's and it is so much better than just a few years ago. The staff understands cameras, they have all the goodies and they carry more than just 2 standard brands. My favorite, Pentax, is there! Customer service is fantastic and prices are competitive. I spend my gear dollars here rather than online stores because of the personalized service. I have purchased lighting gear, photo paper, camera bags, cameras, filters, etc. I recommend Inkley's to anyone from beginner to pro.

My Wife and i have spent a lot of money there but as soon as we try to return something good luck. They didn't even bother with us. We didn't have the receipt but they should have been able to look us up its a simple task. But nope didn't care just said he couldn't we had the same charge card there and everything. Didn't bother with us just said nope. He didn't even try to pretend like he could do something. So now we are open to recommendations of another photography shop cause we aren't going back there anymore.

They were amazing! We found an old slide of my mother-in-law we wanted to use for her funeral and they processed it in less than 2 hours. We were so thankful to have that photo for her service.

First thing: If a reviewer discloses that they are a "student" of photography/film and does so as a statement intended to qualify their opinion, that opinion should read with skepticism. I personally would take the opinion of a "hobbyist" over the opinion of a "student" any day. One keeps photographing for the joy and the challenge, the other keeps photographing for a grade. I have no qualifying statement to make. I am just a customer.

Right, now to the review. There's another camera store much like this in the area. If I walk into that one, I'm helped right away by the staff. The problem is, there are a LOT of staff! In that store I can't just go look around, I have to keep batting the sales-people away.

Inkley's is different. Inkley's will help you if you need the help. They realize that photography is always changing and sometimes people just want to look at the new-thing without having specs recited at them. It's a good place to see the best of the high-end equipment while you're there to pick-up another SD card because you dropped one down a storm-drain.

Oh, and the prints are pretty sweet.

Good place for consignment gear and new gear. I like the staff. Like all photo joints it is expensive, but it lacks specialty. They do have more lens selection than BestBuy down the street, but they lack ultra cheap manual lenses. The camera rentals are a rip off, with costs being high enough that you might as well buy. This is sort of on par for the course. They have good development services too.

The general manager was a total jerk. I was excited to buy a few things from these guys as they came recommended by a close friend who is a photographer. I am new to this stuff and so, I was basically an open book. I was ready to buy some cool accessories to go with the camera I purchased online. When the general manager first helped me, he was nice and seemed helpful, however, once he asked where I got my camera, everything changed. I told him I got a good deal on a refurbished cannon and he showed his disappointment. He told me that I didn't make a good purchase instead of helping me with what I wanted and needed. He was persistent that I didn't make a good buy and debated with my over everything I told him about it. On top of that, I left the floor open for him to make some recommendations on some accessories, and he slammed the opportunity down. It was obvious he was upset because I bought my camera elsewhere and came to their store for the accessories. And he did totally discourage me. The cannon I bought works great and is so beautiful, but I did leave second guessing myself and even if I did make a crappy buy, its not like I can take it back! I went into the store excited and left totally disappointed. I just wish that he would had made the best out of the situation and sold me on the items I was looking for. I never once asked his opinion about my camera purchase, yet he felt the need to make me feel so stupid. I guess I thought that going here would make me happier.

Employee promised to help with an urgent print request, but it didn't get done and eventhough my phone number was listed, he didn't even try to call.
It was the most disappointing and offensive service ever. Especially since I paid WAY too much money.

Completely impressed with how I was treated today when I went to get pictures printed for my brother's funeral. I just felt like they took into consideration the sense of urgency and they expressed sincere condolences to me and my family. Great service, keep it up!

I have been very pleased with this place every time I go. The photo kiosks are extremely easy to use; I am always surprised at how quick and easy it is for me to go in and get prints. Although they were busy with the Christmas rush, Sharee still took the time to help troubleshoot with me when some of my photos were in the wrong format and couldn't download (It was a problem with my photos, not with their equipment). The prints are priced well and it's always fun to have physical copies of photos, so I will absolutely continue to come here for all my photo printing needs in the future.
