Our server Jay was exceptional and the drinks are good but a bit pricey, all the acts was great and our head act Jamie Kennedy was great too.

It was cool. Not the nicest place but not bad. Mostly pretty clean. Even though it's fairly new, it somehow feels dated. But then again no one is going for the decor. Saw a few good shows here and not embarrassing to take your date.
The improv is such a rip off, I couldn't even get a refill on my sofa, and water is like 4.50. They are so full of it.
For it being a shopping mall comedy club, I was impressed. My friend said her food was awful, so I stuck to whiskey.
Great experience...my friend and I saw Mannon Matthews. She is a good singer and had various personality skits. It was my first time seeing her but my friend looked her up beforehand. Our waitress/server was Anna aka Anuuuuh and she was great. It was not packed tonight, but I have been there before when it was super packed before like Marlon Waynes, DL Hughley, and etc. They do require to purchase two items at a minimum. Also depending on who the headliner is you may be standing in line to get into the venue and parking can be congested depending on what other activities are going on that day in the vicinity.
The food was ok. The tables are very cramped. But the prices are reasonable so it s a good night out.
I have been here several time to see comedy shows. I like the venue but they have very small tables. Also they charge you a automatically charge you a 5 dollar fee on every ticket for drinks or food. Plus you have to give tip. Over all seating is great not a bad seat in the house. Also you can not take pictures or video of the comedian which sucks but you have to follow the rules.
Please fix your website it has a virus and won't let people access it
Good food. Good sightlines. Too tight for better known comedians.
I only come here for the laughs & it's totally worth it! Improv brings in a great line up of well known and new comedians. Even amateur night is hilarious. I've never ordered food, just drinks and the staff is friendly, attentive and prompt.
I don't know if you guys were understaffed or just wasn't in a good mood. We talked to three different people and 45 minutes later 2 waiter shows up. They argued behind me and my wife for about 5 minutes because neither want to pick up an extra table on the first row directly in front of the microphone. The drinks took at least 30 minutes to get back and the waiter service was mediocre at best.
Seating is extremely close, but the acts can't be denied. I came with my in laws to see D.L Hughley and it didn't disappoint. Will most definitely be back again for another show. I advise people to get there early because seating is not assigned, unless you pay for reservations.
Enjoyed the show tremendously! Didn't expect the food to be that great!! staff attentive and very professional!! Distancing of tables was pretty well set up at the beginning...as the night went on... the place started feeling up too crowded and all tables were too close and full to capacity... too close for comfort and social distancing:(
Awesome place, the beer was cold and the comedy was better. We saw Joey Diaz and of course he killed it! The chairs cold have been a bit more comfortable.
Only been once but i had a blast wish i could go back more often
Still grabs the attention of some of comedy's best, but also a great peak of the up and comings of Houston.
Great top shelf comedians and drinks. The food is always on point. Been here several times and service is always great.
There is a minimum purchase of 2 items inside after you buy your ticket. And it's 2 items per person, wish they would inform people before getting a ticket.
The entertainment is great. I love to see Corey Holcomb whenever he's in town. Good food but the drinks are horrible. I generally order a long island because I know all I need is 1 and absolutely 2 max. I had 2 which may as well had been virgin drinks. Friendly advice stick with beer or just bottled water here.
Eddie Griffin was hilarious! Staff was great. Would definitely go to another show.
I went to go see Anjelah Johnson getting in was a Little difficult but everyone was so nice about it. Food and drinks were amazing had gotten the Southwest egg rolls and some kind of margarita. The only issue I had was the restroom set up were I had to walk all the way around and then back to the other side to just I can go to the ladies room.
The comedians are great, but the food quality was horrible. Eat before
It was awesome I loved every moment of the show it stayed lit
Great place for date night or to meet with friends for drinks and a good laugh
It was nice. The food was not all that it was cold and just not very tasteful.
Food is very good. The Comedians I have seen are great
Super fun and entertaining! Def seen new magic and laughed quite a bit! Audience was engaged and the food is delish bar food!!! Served quick and wait staff friendly and assertive! Family atmosphere for this guy! Worth every penny! We were a table of 10 and the hour went by like 5 min! Will do again!
When here for a friends birthday. Food was ok, but overall atmosphere was nice. Will be back
Food is very bad, not worth the mandatory charge. This is not in regards to the different shows because that goes toward the person providing the comedy show, but the mandatory charge and the bad food is frankly disappointing overall.
We had a wonderful time and food and drinks are the bomb
Whoever is over this club needs to do better. I should not have to wait more than an hour for my show. You need to seat everyone at the right time and start the show at the time shown in the ticket.
Y'all need to do better.
Went to Corey Holcombe, funny as hell. Had the chicken wings, they were ok. A little pricey thou.
Food is horrible!!! Eat before you come and spend your money on drinks instead. The prices are to be expected, a bit higher than average, but at least a draft beer is reasonable. Be prepared to pay an 18% mandated gratuity regardless of quality, or lack there of, of service.
food and drinks are average and overpriced but comedy is worth the time
We showed up to watch the show with a party of 6. The table number we had was taken, so they told us to set by the side of the stage. The sound is not good so dont sit there. The waitress asked for our drink order after 15 mins. She never asked us again and the next thing we know we get the tab. Never once asked us for another round. The table next to us was just as confused as we were. I can see this place closing down in the near future. The place was half full. Dont waste your money!
Man we just saw Gary Owen and he killed that stage!! Funny as hell
Nice place good food. Could still see the comedians even though we were pretty far.
Saw Gus Johnson here and wondered why I never just come down for a show. Great place, staff and atmosphere.
For my first time at the Improv I had a wonderful time! Tommy Davidson headlined & was hilarious!! I enjoyed the show very much! I was a bit frustrated at first because we arrived 10 minutes late & someone was in our seats. I could tell they did not want to mess with the guys in our seats so we had to stand to the side while they found us seats. The seats the found weren't great & the seats I had would have been so much better however the nonstop laughter from the comedian's made it all the worthwhile & made me forget about our not so great seats.
It's so nice here. They really treat both customers and performers well.
We were here like always Celebrating NaCarol Crystal & Pam's Birthday The Five Hive Turkeys...
Foods great performers are hilarious service is quick the place is clean. Got to see Brad Williams. If you ever get the chance definitely do that. Baby at grandpas, awesome date night! Can't wait to come back!
Can t wait to go to see the show on the 27th. Watch the video and I have to say the red headed lady at the end is downright awful. Nothing trash out of her mouth, about a very respected man.
It is possible to be funny, without talking about butt sex.
Great place to relax and laugh till your side hurts.
This is my second home I love this place I have seen multiple comedians at this location. There isn't a bad seat in the house. You may just be places at a table with a couple or people you don't know but for the most part everyone is just there to have fun and laugh.
The show was great (David Allan Greir). Everything was expensive, but that was to be expected. The food SUCKED. The service was pretty poor too (except for the young lady who picked up the slack for our assigned server). The built in 18% tip wasnt reflective of what we got in any way.
Nice spot and good food, I go at least 4 times a year.
Went on a very busy night and had tickets for 9:45 show. We waited in line outside until 11. The manager explained that the first show went late and we could wait or leave but either way no refund on our tickets. The place is poorly managed.
Open mic night was terrible. No funny jokes and too much profanity.
Do not like the forced share a table thing they have going on. The food is really good. Basic selection like chicken strips and burgers for such an expensive ticket. They always have the best talent however.
Although the seating is very cramped, there are mandatory minimum food and drink purchases, and an automatic 18% gratuity regardless of your service experience, I still enjoyed the ambiance and the caliber of entertainers was fantastic! The server, Dennis treated us like royalty. The host, however, was the rudest individual I've encountered in a very long time. He definitely doesn't need to be employed in the service industry!
It gets crowded expect to sit intimately with strangers but I like that sort of thing. Service is a little slow but I've been there twice and would definitely be back.
Food is great,drinks are lovely
Will b back
Always a good time here food is good may take a while to get but good.
I was just saying that I wished Joe Machi would come back to town, and then here he is! It's good to laugh until my face hurts! Thanks, Joe!
Food is ........ok. Drinks suck and over priced. Service is great! THAT'S A PLUS! A little too compact in the seating area. Like (where is the fire marshall) type of tight on a sold out night. But who doesn't love a comedy show!?!. I go for the comedians
Great show!! Totally worth paying the $25 dlls at the door! The food was just average food nothing special but for a good 2 hrs of laughter I guess I can take that. Totally recommend it!!
A little on the pricey side, but good. Come for the acts, enjoy it every time.
The new club is more spacious. The seating gives everyone a great view of the stage. My only dislike is my last outing I was at A102 table. The spacing between tables was rather close being a end table I got bumped a lot by everyone.
Improv performers are always funny! The food is not as great, but drinks and comedians make up for it.
Laughed out loud till my stomach hurt. Saw Earthquake, Eddie Griffin and other comedians here over the years. Great place to take a date or friends from out of town for a ton of fun, laughs and a good atmosphere.
This venue needs work. There were hidden fees at online checkout which doubled the price per ticket, and when the box office was called they gave us inaccurate information.
The food menu was really weak; chicken tenders, chicken wings, hamburger, and french fries. The service was very disorganized, I was seated for 20 minutes before someone told me I had to order at the bar.
The cocktails on the menu were overpriced for the ingredients, and frankly the mojito I had was not good.
Overall: I won't be returning unless a really big comic has an appearance, and even then probably not. An evening here is not worth the $40 per person in tickets and mandatory drinks.
Had a blast as usual!!! Always a good time at the Improv!
Love this place, have seen Rob Schneider, Eddie Griffin, Brad Williams, and Jo Koy. Love that members of the waitstaff are usually openers, allowing them to start their career.
Went for the first time last night. Stand up and venue was great, but the service was horrible. Our waitress was nowhere to be found and didn't seem to know much about the menu. Afterwards we had a meet and greet, there was a staff member who just wanted to go home. He kept telling everyone in line to hurry up and make it short, then right in front of us, he was talking to his co-workers that he wanted to leave and it was bs that he had to wait. It was only 10:00. It left a horrible impression and the only option for water shouldn't be bottled and $3.50.
Food was flavorful and served by a team with a great attitude.
Food was decent, drinks can be a little pricey. Watch out as they throw automatic gratuity on your tab, no matter how small your party is. The music they played before the show started was horrible and at such a volume it made it difficult to relax. During the show, the volume could have been a touch lower. The remodel is nice but it's very crowded when the show lets out so it's hard to heckle your favorite comedian at the merch booth.
Great venue. They kill u with the minimums, but thats all improv venues. Its too much. 18% added to ticket plus asking for waiter tip. Dang.
The comedy is always pleasureable with the type of talent they bring in. I last saw Eddie Griffin with my sister. There were four of us on the floor seats. However, it is always such a tight squeeze and you have to share tables with people you don't know. They need to upgrade their space or move to a much larger venue so that there fans can be comfortable. They bring in big artist so why the cramped space?
This place has absolutely zero customer service/satisfaction.
On one visit, we waited outside for nearly two hours because the first show went over. No apology, no free drink/food.
Most recently, we purchased tickets for my son birthday. While they left for the show 90 minutes before showtime. I-10 was shut down and they were unable to make it to even see half the show. They called to see about attending the second show and were denied unless they wanted to pay again.
They just lost two customers and I will certainly let everyone I know to stay away from the Houston Improv in the future.
I loved it. My husband was celebrating 9 years of marriage and we went to see Micheal Blackson. The entire show was great.
Food and drinks were a lil pricey but show was fantastic
