Went on a Tuesday for an improv/sketch combo night and it was really entertaining. It was musical and funny and there were moments where they brought the audience in. All in all, a great way to spend an evening while visiting the city.

We had a fun night out at this establishment and actors were very talented. The sections they did with the audience participation were excellent. Some of the sketches were funny but others could use some improvement. Every seat in the space was comfortable and with a great view.

My friends and I have seen these guys dozens of times over the course of the past eight or so years and the rotation of comics and acts to this day is just incredible. I'm so shocked that it's less than $30 a person to see this show. The "Laffenhaus" event that takes place in early spring is the best, though! Where can you go in Boston for $45 for five-six hours of entertainment in the Seaport District??

I'm not familiar with other improv places as this is my first, but $7 for two hours of comedy sounds like a good deal to me. It's a clean, quaint place where every seat is a good seat. Basically you walk downstairs to a lobby area where you purchase your tickets, buy drinks, or use the restroom. Then just before the show you walk into the main area and are seated first-come and by the size of your party.

The seats are comfy enough and have cup holders. Again, I'm not familiar with improv but on this night five teams performed in about 15-20 minutes segments. Each stated with one member from the team asking for something like a favorite place or underrated item in a store to get things going. I can understand if it's hit-or-miss because the comedy depends on the performers. Luckily every team was very funny.

I would have given this 5 stars but its pretty expensive ($28 per ticket) and every time I've been here it always seems so crazy and disorganized before the show and during the intermission when people are trying to grab drinks and hit the bathroom. The shows are always good, and to be fair if you're looking for a cheaper show there is a midnight raunchy show for $15, but that show is only an hour long. Worth a stop in if you're looking for something to do after a great Italian dinner, just mind the price.

I've been here 3 times now and I always have a blast whenever I go. I don't think any other comedy show has ever made me laugh as hard as this show always does! Highly recommend this show to everyone!

This was my first experience going to an improv show, and I had a blast. I loved the audience participation. It was clear that the entire team was very talented and had the whole audience laughing from start till end. I liked how they mixed together rehearsed acts with off the spur improv initiated by ideas from the audience. Would definitely go again.

Funny performance by talented young actors. Affordable entertainment. I would recommend to buy front seats the hear better the show, so you can be invited to participate. Lots of places to drink eat around before and after the show.

Best comedy show in Boston. Mix of sketch/improv. Venue is in a great location; North End has an endless array of delicious Italian options. Full bar, so arrive early and get yourself a drink or two (and then another at intermission)

Went to the midnight show Raunch by myself on a Saturday. Obviously going with a group is more ideal for comedy, but I was in Boston from out of town and love Improv so that s cool! Performers were strong. This specific show mixed a long form style with short form games which was cool, not sure if all their shows are built this way, but it s fun to watch for all audiences. So yea you should go because Improv is awesome and these people are strong performers.

My gripe was with the handling of hecklers. When you add a full bar, an unscripted show asking for audience participation, and midnight on a Saturday in the north end, you re inherently going to get some audience members who think they re part of the show, however the staff needs to do a better job of shutting them up. It took 40 minutes into the set until someone asked a particularly hammered and obnoxious few people to be quiet, when they were already too much in the opening scene. If the staff cleans that up, this is a perfect Improv theater.

Hilarious! Definitely worth to pay a little extra to sit at the front as the sound doesn't travel particularly well to the back. Also make sure to get there early as the line for the bar can get pretty long.

The comedy can be raunchy, I think that's a good thing. I have been three times. Different actors almost every single time I've have gone although it was in a span of a few years. I went a few weeks ago and enjoyed it but didn't quite love it as much as I have in the past.

I've also usually stayed for humans against humanity , and this last time it wasn't worth it. The actors barely acted out what was on the cards. Definitely room for improvement but otherwise it has been great through out the years.

Honestly wasn't sure what to expect. Im not a very artys or theater person so I don't know if I was going to be out of my realm. We went to the raunch show and it was honestly the hardest I've laughed in a long time.

It's essentially a comedy club in a basement. Once you get past that, though, everything else really works well. The drinks were good, the show was great, and the improv group was on point. Very few instances of getting lost during the improv moments, and they did a great job of shutting down an audience member who got out of line. I can't wait to see their Saturday night raunch show!

Absolutely hilarious. An extremely fun time. It is definitely worth going to the early show getting dinner and coming back for the second show at midnight. I was falling out of my chair I was laughing so hard. They really engage the crowd I strongly suggest a visit. It's worth every penny.

I frequent Improv Asylum a LOT -- at least once a month (and one time I went to three shows in one week), and every single show's setup ("games") was different. I love this place!
The chemistry between the Main Stage improvisers can't be beat - they play off one another seamlessly which results in crazy laughter from the crowd.
I've brought every single one of my out-of-town guests here, even six of my traveling colleagues one night haha
Combine with Mike's for a post-show dessert to get a perfect night in the North End!

Was invited by a college buddy to attend the Saturday 5 pm The Main Stage Happy Hour (And A Half). What a delightful time! The cast was enthusiastic and unbelievably incorporated even the most outlandish suggestions. For $15, this was a great way to spend the afternoon with a friend!

O my god this was amazing! I have not laughed that much in a while. Went to a 730 show and was promptly seated after grabbing some very tastey drinks from the bar. Got there 15 minutes early and got one of the last front row seats. The actors are super likeable, and very clever, I perform in an improv group myself, so I know quality when I see it. Seats were comfortable, and the sound system let's you hear every word. I would go back in a heartbeat, and would have paid double! Thanks for the best comedy night ever guys!!!

A little hole in the wall with big laughs! A very relaxed atmosphere and every seat is a good seat as the theatre is small and intimate. The 6 improve comedians made us laugh from start to finish.

Fun late night activity. Great for groups, especially if you re seated in the front row as you may end up becoming a part of the show. Recommend to get dinner in little Italy and then strolling over here with some friends after having a few drinks at a nearby pub.

Lots of fun! They do shows 7 days a week. I ve been here multiple times, to both the Friday and Saturday night shows. On Fridays and Saturdays, they offer a 7:30pm show, 10pm show, and a midnight show. If you attend the 7:30 or 10pm shows, you get free admission into the midnight show, so I d recommend going to both shows and grabbing dinner or drinks in between! There s also a small bar in the lobby here, so you can grab beer and wine before the show, during intermission, or after the show.

As for the stage itself, the room is pretty small, which is awesome because it s a more intimate setting so you really feel like you re a part of the show and can see everything happen. This also means all the seats are great. Even partial obstruction seats have a great view, with only a tiny pole in your way (and you pay less for them totally worth it!). Even back row seats are only the 4th or 5th row, so you re still very close to the stage! Back row seats and partially obstructed are actually my preferred seats because you don t get picked on during the show, you pay less, and you re still SUPER close to the stage!!

If possible, I d recommend buying tickets online in advance to ensure you get seats. But if you happen to be walking by improv asylum and want to stop in unplanned, there s oftentimes seats available (as long as you re good with back row or partial obstruction, which, as I mentioned, are still perfectly fine seats and actually my personal fav!).

Highly recommend improv asylum for a fun night out!

A guaranteed good time with friends! If you're not sure what your plans should be, this is it. Hilarious each time and relevant comedy to today's topics. Every few months I go to the main stage show, it's always a treat. If you go to the late time, at midnight they usually have a free show for folks that attended it.

Not the best. It's the least I've seen like but I've watched upright citizens brigade in NY and other troupes in live. They try their best for sure but I paid $30 entry. ATL had better but maybe that means ATL shows should've charged more.
My biggest issue is the level of improv comedy is not worth the price. Some of their skits seemed produced and for me it wasn't LOL. Half the crowd laughed but the other half politely smiled. Including myself. It's not bad. But I'm not paying again.
