Great service amazing food. The deco is tastful and relaxing.

The restaurant is overpriced and the service was mediocre.

I walked in and had one of the best meals in my life. The wait staff, the owner who walked over for a quick chitchat, the wine, the bread, the entree. I couldn t recommend this place more.

Come Prima--what a rip off! We eat at many fine dining establishments on a regular basis in NYC. Sometimes the food is good, service is fair, or vice versa. We are also accustomed to paying appropriately for a good meal.

RARELY however, have we ever had such a terrible experience where the food was fair, the portion sizes minuscule, the service bordering on insolent, and the prices off the charts! But that is what we experienced last evening at Come Prima.

Our waiter was so rude that I was ready to walk out. As our friend was ordering his drink, the waiter cut him off and said "I am taking food orders now". When they brought him his glass of Montepulcano, it was a very small pour, and it came in a chardonnay glass.

His wife ordered lobster with pasta and with her first bite, it tasted very spicy. When she politely pointed this out to the waiter, he argued with her insisting it was only pasta and lobster and couldn't be spicy.

She insisted it was and he begrudgingly took the plate away. When her plate was returned a few minutes later by another waiter, that waiter advised her that the cook was from Naples and uses pepperoncini in most of his dishes.

He suggested to her that the next time, she ask for it without it. I said, perhaps YOU should advise people the dish is prepared with pepperoncini. When she asked for parmesan cheese for her dish, in a very condescending tone, our waiter said, "are you sure you really want parmesan cheese with lobster?"

We ordered side dishes of asparagus and spinach with each one costing $14. I counted there were FIVE stalks of asparagus, and honestly, the portion size of the spinach was less than two tablespoons.

And of course, what would a terrible experience at Come Prima restaurant be without the owner coming over to our table at the end of the meal, asking if everything was satisfactory, and proceeding to put his hands on the shoulders of my friends wife, and giving her a massage? I was ready to explode, but my friend pleaded with me to "let it go."

Final insult to the evening was the bill. For the pleasure of being subjected to the rudest wait staff, the smallest of portions, and unwelcomed advances in the form of a massage by the owner, the bill came to $331.44. That's three hundred thirty one dollars and forty four cents! And that was for 4 entree's, two drinks, two side orders, and four cups of coffee.

Best beats salad ever had! Service was great food was amazing!

Spectacular food with the best ingredients and great wine pairings. On of the best choices in this neighborhood . Attentive service and a very cordial and involved owner Salvador . Ciao .

Food was good but the welcome was just polite. Regulars look like they are treated like old friends. We were, well, tolerated. Didn't feel nice. Wouldn't go back.

A remarkable New Year's Eve lunch with polipo (the barman and I had a good laugh over my Sicilian pronunciations) branzino, pasta con vongole and many other "old school" Italian dishes made t o perfection. The owner was as "gentile" e "divertente" as one could be; and so was the Nebbiolo Langhe. In short an excellent choice for an Italian East Side meal.

Attentive staff, good menu, nice ambiance. Food was delicious. Higher scale Italian. But its Madison Ave, so you expect that.

Outstanding Food, Impeccable Service and Definitely Worth the Price! My son made reservations, it was our first time we are not dressed up although everyone else was And mentioning it because the service was One of Best we have had in a while.

Wonderfully cozy Italian restaurant on the UES. Staff and table service is top class, wine list is very solid, food is great. Atmosphere will have you here longer than expected!

A place I accidentally found on Madison after I left the MET.
Truly a well-kept place where you really eat Italian. We ordered three first courses: one better than the other.
Well done. The coffee seemed to be made in Naples. What about everything right.

Fantastic food, especially the Octopus and the Seafood Linguine. Ambience was nice. Food very pricey but it's the area. Service and attention was very poor. They forgot to bring the wine twice.

Wonderful food service and ambiance. It was a memorable dinner on Christmas Eve.

What a treat to dine here . Exceptional service and the pasta al pomodoro was divine. Pair that with their superb Bloody Mary and you have a truly delightful experience.

Food is good. Service is good but it is hard to give good service in an uncomfortable atmosphere. The bar area looks fun but the back table area is a comfortable room with no music playing. Staff standing around looking for things to do. Weird.

Fabulous food and service. Had an amazing pasta with nuts on top...I know sounds odd but was sublime. Salvatore is very kind and courteous and made our visit very special. Definitely will be going back!!!

Food and drinks are very good, especially the bartender made special cocktails based on your preference.
The reason I gave only 3 stars because the owner and waiters are very snobbish! The owner asked a question: "where" do you live to me and every of my friends out of no where! I don't know if he was trying to initiate a conversation or what, very strange! Besides that he kept nagging the bartender poured wine too much and started to measure it himself with a highlighter marked on wine glasses.
The waiter introduced the special dishes, and when my friend ordered one of the special he emphasised TWICE" IT IS VERY EXPENSIVE"! Very weird! Turned out the very expensive one is only $54!
Overall, food and drinks are good.

Prices were too high for the portions of the food served. STAY AWAY!! Maybe you ll think its worth the money but trust me, IT IS NOT!!

Service and good was excellent. Feels very authentic yet fresh. And can't speak enough about the staff. After splashing tomato sauce all over my brand new pink blazer and white shirt, a swarm of staff surrounded me to help me clean up. They even reheated our food and changed the linens. That kind of service doesn't exist everywhere in NYC. Amazing.

Would give 3.5 stars. Food was good, but portions are a bit small for the price. I know it's nyc, but it's not like they were serving something extremely unique and artistic...it's just pretty good italian food. We did feel our dishes were a little too salty. Had the spaghetti with seafood and the fettuccine with bolonesge sauce. Decor is clean and mostly white...not my preference, but that's a a matter of preference. Patrons were generally older and seemed to be on the pretentious side...also not my preference, but that may be your thing. They definitely need to pick better, more suitable music for this place. They were literally playing popular r&b. Strange for a restaurant going for upscale Italian. Service was good and we were treated with two complimentary Limoncello drinks at the end even though we did not go crazy with the bill.

My favorite restaurant on UES...a very good menu, always the freshest produce and an excellent wine list. In particular the seafood and veal are superb, as are the pastas. The owner and host Salvatore is friendly and always makes sure you have a great experience!

Such a nice spot. Lunch was wonderful, perfect for lunch meetings. Can t wait to be in Manhattan more so that I can frequent often!

This special ambiance makes for a unique dining experience, in what is usually a frantic atmosphere as one dines. Come Prima is the exception!
An eye for detail, fresh flowers, pristine napery, and believe or not, a clean kitchen!
All overseen personally by Salvatore and staff.
Not only is the food delicious, but concern for the client will even cater to personal choice.
The wine list is excellent, and the bar is just beautiful!
A great place to meet new people at this special gift to the New York dining scene!

We were introduced to this wonderful neighborhood restaurant by friends with whom we went last night...........friends who live both in New York and Rome..........and it was wonderful. I had asparagus and then salmon. Dale had a meatball appetizer then a salad and very much liked it. Service was great and both in Italian and English. The place is great looking and we were back last night (a few months later). Still expensive, still terrific.

Beware! This place is not only outrageously expensive, but the owners prey on elderly diners, charging obscene amounts for "special" dishes without explaining the costs up front.

Food is absolutely amazing! So fresh & such clean flavors! The food is on the pricey side but it is definitely worth it, good atmosphere and very nice waiters. I think it s a hidden gem that much enough people don t know about!
