The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (abbreviated IITB or IIT Bombay) is a public engineering institution located at Powai, Mumbai, India. It is the second-oldest (after Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur) institute of the Indian Institutes of Technology system.[2]



IIT Bombay has a comprehensive graduate program offering doctoral degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.[4] Currently IIT Bombay has a total of 14 academic departments, six centers, one school, and three interdisciplinary programmes. Over the last 53 years, around 39,000 engineers and scientists have graduated from the institute.[4] Educational programmes here extend beyond the physical sciences and engineering into humanities and social sciences such as Economics, English, Philosophy, Psychology and Sociology and into management studies.[6] Over the years, the institute has also created a niche for its innovative short-term courses through continuing education and distance education programmes.[7]

i've been here for mood indigo 2016 and it was an amazing experience.

Every old IIT is good and unique and it will give you ample of opportunities to grow.
IIT Bombay has the best infrastructure among all of them.
You won't find lecture halls such as this anywhere with all the facilities like Wi-Fi and AC everywhere.
The food quality is also pretty decent. Hostel rooms are the best for first-year students.

If there would be option of 10 then i will surely give it 10, the reason is u have to visit it once. Especially at time of TECHFEST.

there will be some professors saying to study all day all night, and there will be professors saying to follow your heart.
there are ample opportunities.
and there is great amount of pressure.

it also gives platform to many startups. and hosts entrepreneurship summit.
being placed in powai (in vicinity of hiranandani-the growing silicon valley and home to many start ups) it gets a lot of exposure.

it is easily accessible. the whole campus is very well covered with trees
Though leopard, pythons, snakes, are occasional visitors, alligators wish to reside powai lake itself. Many birds and animal species can be seen.

PS. boys hostels have depressingly small rooms.

it grows on you..

Ok ok campus, not very clean, hostel are very poorly maintained, no proper guest room for guets, doesn't enjoy my stay.

60 seats in computer department and 1 million students competing to get admission here . To bad...

Quiet and green

The best technology school in India. Vast green campus. Lots of activities and events where outsiders are also invited.

Amazing place. While I did study here, which was a wonderful experience, the best experience I have had is in extra-curricular and co-curricular activities here. Very good sports facilities. Hostels might be considered to have small rooms, but it is lots of fun!

Best place to be in Mumbai, Greenery is awesome. You will find a temperature difference ranges 2-4 degree lesser then rest of mumbai
