Reasonable price for location. Basic Mexican food. Nothing special.
Great place to dance and unwind. Bartenders are on point. Spanish music upstairs. Safe place to hang been going here for years!
Very good TexMex food with good service. A bit noisy for me, however everyone seemed to enjoy themselves
Recently stopped by on a Sunday and it was empty which was great, all staff were wearing masks & they had hand sanitizer available as well... Only had a few drinks so can't speak to the food however Sunshine was an awesome bartender. It's been so long since I've sat somewhere for a few drinks & it was nice to feel comfortable & safe enough to do so...
It a very nice place and i can see myself going back there again.
Most rude and sarcastic bouncer. Never coming back.
Very good beer and eat pretty well in price, well there already know it's all much more expensive than here.
The food and service are both very good. They also have salsa dance classes and bar with DJ on the other floor which is cool.
texmex and the atmosphere here is better than most. this location is one of my favorites. nothing but pleasant experiences here. the bill won't shock you.
Never ate there, but the upstairs dance club is fun.
Food is decent, servers are very attentive, and a great atmosphere.
The food is great the service not so much. Very difficult to get a return visit from the server or even bartender. Such a shame.
Nice place, good price for a drink, but the DJ must be better, need new latin music and be more animated.
A bit pricey for the quality but nice atmosphere and friendly staff...they'll also serve food to families after 10pm, which seems to be rare for barestaurants in the area.
While the restaurant is very nice and has a nice atmosphere the food leaves MUCH to be desired. I came to this place with a large group and the majority of the group was unhappy with their food. The portions are small and the prices are very high for dishes that look and taste like they were literally thrown together. I ordered the red snapper and couldn't even try to enjoy the fish because I had to worry about not swallowing a bone, of which there were many. The guacamole and the drinks were good though so I'll give them that. The clubs are very small and very expensive and we were forced to wait on a line to check our coats and pay a fee even though we had paid for a table that is $20 per person. I do not recommend this place to anyone. There are much better places in the city to visit for food, drinks, and/or music.
I never leave bad reviews but my experience here was so bad that I had to. My boyfriend and I went here for new years eve and it was a huge rip off to the point of being a scam. The tickets cost $35 each plus a >$6 fee just to enter (purchased in advance). The coat check was $6 per each item, and they counted each item separately (coat, hat, sweater, small bag, umbrella, change of shoes etc) and they didn't allow you to put anything in your coat sleeves or hang coats together and forced you to check every single item on you. Considering many couples on a rainy new years in NYC walk around with coats, hats, scarves, purses, umbrellas etc this can easily result in a $40+ cost just at coat check. The menu prices were extremely inflated for NYE, with the by far cheapest item on the snack menu (a few corn chips in artificial cheese sauce) costing $14. A small single order of guacamole cost $18. Even worse, there was no seating unless you purchased a ridiculously expensive bottle, so we were forced to eat our extremely overpriced and unimpressive corn chips standing up, and the lack of seating resulted in discomfort and sore feet after a while. The music was not great and it was far too loud for any conversation, and the dancing was not good. Other patrons were sloppily drunk as early as 10 pm and would bump into us as we danced, and there were multiple drinks spilled on the dance floor and broken glass. The overall attitude of everyone working there was simply to rob you of as much money as possible rather than actually ensuring you enjoyed yourself after spending astronomical amounts of money (there was even an employee in the bathroom asking for tips for handing you a paper towel!). As soon as we arrived we couldn't wait to leave. I regret ever coming to this place and will never return, and I strongly advise against anyone going.
The Iguana is a fun spot right in Manhattan with great food and a lively ambiance. I attended an event upstairs that was fun and the service, food & drinks were great! I would definitely return and do recommend!
The bartenders are awesome. I was amazed how dead it was when I first arrived but it is a Monday happy hour. Food was amazing and the the drinks were strong. Highly recommend.
Awesome spot for a good time! Always fun people & good bartenders at your service!!
My bf had his debit card information stolen and purchases where made 2 months after! Luckily for him the bank was able to dispute this matter and refund him. Becarful there!!If you really need to go there use cash!
Huge place with three levels (restaurant, bar and nightclub in the basement). I can't speak for the food as we didn't order anything but the drinks were great and bartenders were very friendly - definitely try a mojito. The sangria was okay but a tad too sweet.
One of my favorite lounges. Great music selection and if you want a different song you just go to another floor.
Food: The food was amazing. The portions are large and there was so much food leftover. Their drinks are definitely worth checking out.
Service: Very quick. We went in thinking that our wait would be well over 30 mins but they were able to squeeze us in within 5 minutes.
Cost: Very reasonable
Would I go back: Absolutely.
They have good music and salsa nights, thought I wouldn't go there to get neither food nor well drinks. Either go for whiskey or tequila, besides their humongous size of food portions are unnecessary I would rather say quality over quantity, if you are paying the prices for the dinner at least it could be a bit better or maybe that was just my experience. Drinks and music it's a better idea than dine in. Overall, not too bad not good enough either. Hopefully when I come back service will be better(I hope so).
I came with a group of 15 people, and we loved the free dance lesson (Carmen, the instructor was great, and she's adorable). Of course, we also enjoyed the happy hour, appetizers, and the dancing afterwards. A great evening, whether early or late!
The food was acceptable. I definitely felt the food wasn't on par with high prices of the dishes. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The music was ok. 2 levels for dancing. The DJs were soso. 04/20/19
Lovely restaurant. Wide selection of frozen margaritas! Delicious guacamole!
It has all the Mexican beers on tap so fantastic place
Customer service is awful, disrespectful workers and inconsiderate.
Friendly. On 3 floors with a bar on each floor and its different atmospheres.
Decent Mexican food. Very small portions for the price. 5 of us ended up spending $250 and didn t leave full while only having 1-2 drinks per person. Fresh guacamole was tasty though.
This place is decent for salsa dancing. The night my gf and I went, the dj was late so they were playing some non salsa music. DJ did show up and the music was good. They do play alot of reggaeton on Saturdays which was ok...we really went for the salsa and bachata. I would return but wouldnt bother with getting in so early
Iguana is bumpin' on Friday nights the restaurant, bar, and nightclub downstairs (who knew?) are all packed with happy people looking to party. Drinks are okay. I only had the mojito, which was decent but not spectacular, though other drinks looked somewhat questionable. Prices are reasonable. Can't speak for the food we went for drinks and stayed at the bar.
Classy place with great lighting and '20s and '30s swing dancing.
Food was very underwhelming and took 90 min to come out even of their pre-fixe menu------ move on to better choices
Great place for Latin food, especially Mexican food
Thieves. Avoid this place like the plague!
One star because it's the lowest I can give.
Went here for dinner on 7/19/17. Dinner was fine, service was slow, but not a big deal. Got home to find the credit card was charged twice. Called and spoke to the hostess, who took my information and said the manager would call back.
He didn't.
Called back a few days later with a Capital One representative. Hostess said we had to speak with a manager and transferred us.
He hung up on us!
We tried again and he sent us straight to voicemail!
Filed a dispute through Capital One. Obviously will never return.
The second floor is great for Latino music. Lots of people but still fun. A lot of space for dacing and quick drinks services.
Ordered the Dibi with lamb , it was delicious . The onion sauce tasted really good however when combined with lamb meat , I couldn't taste any flavor of the lambmeat . 3.5 for me
TexMex... very delicious. Service is prompt even when they are busy. I will be back with my friends. The prices are fair for the quality of food.
Food was great. Drinks OK. Service OK. Good atmosphere but somewhat noisy.
I have been coming to Iguana for 7 years this is the first time the staff has been incredibly rude and nasty. They really need to do something with the upstairs security he is just plain nasty!!! And the waitress don t get me stated on her she is even worst. So disappointed!!!!
Seeing Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks here is one of the best things a music lover can do in NYC.
I dance so much my knees were hurting for 2 days lol.
Have not tried the food, just night dancing. Place was mostly empty with high prices drinks.
Went at 10:30 am, Sat, was the only one there and ordered the breakfast burrito... Wow awesome. I great server, friendly hostess and terrific bar tender. I rate it five stars because I wanted-for-not during and after my meal.
More or less how it occurs to them not to have a place to sit if you don't buy drinks.
Went -- at last minute -- to TxGvg dinner (really lunch at 2pm).
Had a phenomenal experience all around: the restaurant is tastefully and completely decorated for C'Mas; waiters are attentive and entertaining (kids saw maguc tricks and got great light sticks); AND food was abundant and great. We ended up taking lots of turkey and pie to-go!
We will go back for sure.
I enjoyed this restaurant. The menu has all the Mexican staples. The ambiance of this location is very nice. There is also an upstairs which turns into a dance area which was fun.
Grab the hop on hop off bus in New York and you will get everywhere
Loved the food!! Great flavors and nice atmosphere as well!! Great place for Bdays and atmosphere
Coat check should be all the time. Someone walked out my jacket tonight
Excellent atmosphere, super friendly staff. I was new in townew and they showed me the best places!
One drink always leads to 10 here! Fun for a group.
Went on a Saturday night it was so much fun, went downstairs where they play everything and the drinks are cheap. You can get a table if each person spends $20
Arrived at 8:30 on Saturday night but started at 9:30
Merengue reggae? Salsa Bachata comes out after almost 10 o'clock,
I can not get out of salsa properly
Intermediate and above are standing
I'll give you $ 3 for a bag and a pair of shoes. Margarita for $ 16.
People are getting bigger than 11 o'clock
For the Salsa,
I came here at night for their lil night club setting and the top floor was a lot of fun. Great mix of music!
If you want to have a good time, dancing salsa and bachata ... Among other rhythms, this is a good place.
Had such a great time here. Went here to help celebrate my friends birthday. The food was great but the atmosphere and dancing was wonderful!!! Will definitely be going again, but this time will bring some flat shoes so my feet can rest after all that dancing!!!
Food is great and the atmosphere is inviting with live music and a popular bar.
