Great view, mediocre overpriced food, long waits to be seated... $12 burger became $17 burger because I asked for paperback cheese. Go for drinks...take a picture and leave!

Good south american quisine. Good service, and a great view.
There s a problem when you see half eaten plates on every table.
We have been going here since 1990 and will always return. Enjoy the view and food.
I was sooo disappointed. The last time I was here, was May, 2002, I live in the East Coast. Then, the name was fitting, as it was a true "Oasis"! The views are breathtakingly beautiful, which is why I rated 3 stars! I wouldn't have thought twice about the extremely slow service if the food was delicious. The food was served so slow, it was served cold (suppose to be hot), expensive and hardly any flavor.
Didn't had a chance to eat this time. 2 1/2 wait time for 6 people.
Lots of fun walking around the various stores and eateries. Had 1 drink and was good the whole day
Great food and great scenery overlooking Lake Travis... Awesome sunsets!! ;-)
The view!! The food was great as well. Not many options for vegetarians but the view and drinks were worth it!!
My parents came to visit from Florida, so I thought this would be a perfect place to go so they could see the sunset on Lake Travis. It was beautiful, as always, but our waiter (Mark) was too busy helping out a table that got there after us who wasn t even on the waitlist. They were served first and he barely paid attention to us. We received our chips and salsa AFTER our food came out and I didn t get a side of ranch that I asked for until after I finished my food. If there is a next time, we re going for the view and eating somewhere else...possibly at the brewery, which is much better.
The best place in Austin to see the sun going down the horizon, while having food over lake travis
Great experience and nice View. Great customer service, food is,just ok.
Some of the best views of the lake with a variety of food/drink options!
Unforgettable dining experience! The views were to die for.
The location is amazing. Did not expect it to be so beautiful in Texas. The view from the Oasis is something not be missed in Austin. But do not try the food in the Oasis restaurant. Apart from the chicken fireballs the other items weren't that great of worth the cost.
Great tourist attraction, couldn't believe how much it's grown!
Such a cool vibe. The brewing company has great beers and amazing views. I will definitely be returning next year.
The view and location is fantastic, especially for being in mid-Texas. As for the food, it's just ok with a limited menu.
The only enjoyable thing about this place is the vew.
It was a very pleasant experience and a great place for a birthday dinner.
After having living in Austin for over 10 years I finally made my way out to the Oasis this past week when I was staying at the Lakeway resort about 20 minutes away.
When we arrived I was really impressed. I had always though it was just some big restaurant with a nice view, but there was actually a lot more to the immediately surrounding area such as shops and dessert places (unfortunately closed down now, but still cool to see).
After waiting in line for 10 minutes we got our name on the waitlist which was an additional 45 - 60 minutes. Being that everywhere right around was closed that left us to sitting around in the heat which was rather unenjoyable, but still a nice view.
Once our time came we were taken to our table. I must say that all the decorations and designs were super cool and really Austin-ish in the sense that it was weird in a cool way. We ended up waiting another 10 minutes before the food arrived and by the time we got outside it was too dark to really see the view that much. The entire time we were there we had to wait long whiles before getting anything we needed. The food was pretty good, but honestly not worth the wait.
I enjoyed my experience and had a good time, but the amount of waiting was crazy. We waited a long time for our food, for our drinks, for chip refills, etc. Being that it s a popular place I understand, but having more staff would easily solve this problem and lead to high guest satisfaction, this shouldn t have been a major issue for a Wednesday.
Overall, had a good time, but way more waiting that it was worth and they also didn t do anything for birthdays which was a disappointment.
Wonderful view. But the food has much to be desired. Too much salt, fish tasted super strange.
Great place to spend some special time with friends. Layered chicken tacos are wonderful. The view is unmatched on Lake Travis.
The last time we were there it wonderful view at sunset. My wife and i enjoyed it as well as my mother in law
Food was ok. Service was ok. Told 90 minute wait and then was only 20. Always funny they over quote wait. Views always amazing!
The Oasis Restaurant has a great view of Lake Travis and good food. And one they, also, have music on Friday night. A can't miss spot to enjoy life!
The view is breath taking and worth it, but the food and the service is terrible. The waitress is very racist and I had to keep asking him to bring my food and water. Really felt unhappy and didn't enjoy my time there like I though I would. I had to keep asking other waitresses about my waitress and they would tell me to wait foe him and he would still not come. My food was veryyy cold and I literally almost threw up. GO FOR THE VIEW NOT THE FOOD!
Very cool restaurant, eclectic furnishings, art work, many statues, incredible views, it is a destination spot... Highly Recommend. A Gem!!!
You get beautiful sunset view across the lake. We got to see Trick Shot live, and they rocked! Fun loving people, amazing food and the ambience, all make the time worthwhile. And don't forget the fun drive on the windy road leading up to this place ;)
Ate at the Oasis earlier this evening and had such a wonderful experience. Enjoyed a beautiful sunset over Lake Travis and had a fabulous waiter, Daniel. He was so friendly and accommodating; we really appreciated him! Tasty food too and the gluten free items on the menu are outlined. Overall, very fun atmosphere and a good night with friends
This place is synonymous with Austin. Wait wasnt bad, despite it being the 2 days after Xmas. Was told a 1 hr wait when we came (Fri 5pm) but got paged at 30 min. Food was so-so (combo beef, chicken sizzling fajitas for 2) but the lake view and ambiance was spectacular, especially near sunset with an outside deck seat. Probably best view in all of Austin of the gorgeous sunset. Waitress Julia failed to bring us chips and dips even after our entree was served; basically disappeared after taking our order. Had to flag down the bus boy for chips and the check.
View 5* | Food 3* | Service 2*
Great views of the lake not to mention the awesome sunsets. Food is good.
One of the major attractions in Austin, location of restaurant is mind blowing and one should visit for sunset sightseeing. Then have dinner while sitting outside. Food quality and service is excellent.
It gets three stars instead of one solely because I haven't tried the food and give them the benefit of the doubt that it's good. There was a 30 minute line to put our name on the waitlist. And once our name was on the waiting list, they informed us it would take 2 - 2.5 hours to be seated. The rest of the area around the Oasis has similar views, way less of a wait time and more privacy for your date. If you feel like hanging out for a while, this may be your place. But if you're looking to eat in a reasonable amount of time, keep walking around the complex.
Bad food, bad service, gorgeous views. That pretty much sums it up.
Love this on the lake hotel view. You can dine or just go and have the view for free at this place. The dining needs reservation as it can get long wait time if you go and book a place. The parking is free and you can spend time visiting different floors of hotel and outside sculptures.
A must see place in Austin. A beautiful view of the river.
Just beautiful scenery. Food is ok, everything is kind of bland
If you are in Austin, The Oasis on Lake Travis is a must-see. Seating is ample, most with superb views of the lake, food is good, and you will be met with some of the friendliest Texas hospitality. The drive to The Oasis was worth it on its own, nestled in some of the most beautiful Texas hill country. I can t wait to come back during my next visit to these parts.
Doesn't quite have the charm of the old place, which burned down, but still has good food and a great view of Lake Travis. Now, however, the Oasis is now part of a huge multi storied complex. Kind of feels like you'rein a giant barn.
Cant beat the view of the lake fromoutside, but the food is more '10 dollar diner' and less 'million dollar view'
Fantastic view of Lake Travis!! Basic menu of local favorites, food was hot and fresh, delivered to our table freaky fast!! The drinks were amazing, one of the best frozen margaritas I have ever had!! Our server (Gaige) had a great personality and very professional!! Will definitely be back!!
Don't expect anything great from the kitchen - I'd recommend forgetting about the restaurants and just going upstairs for bar bites and some beers. View is awesome and there are DJ's and live music most of the time.
Great place to spend the evening gazing sunset over the lake while sipping your favorite drink
Excellent view, food was delicious, the staff was very friendly! Thank you so much for your hospitality!
First, if you Yelp this place, you ll see 2 and a half stars. Don t let it s discourage you. I guess they were all hangry when they wrote the review. Which can be understood when you struggle to find parking, and have to wait in line for quite a while. So for lunch come early when they open. Plenty of table outside. Best view in Austin period. Expect long waiting time for the food to come out. Ours came out in 30 minutes. We understood, because the place was super packed. We had the Fajita plate and it was delicious. The Chile relleno was OK. Remember, this is a tourist attraction. You come here for the view
I loved everything about this place except the service. We traveled far to visit The Oasis just to get lousy service by the waitstaff and management.
Reasonable prices , great view of the lake and the servers are awesome.
Amazing view, great atmosphere and good food. Watch out for the flying umbrellas tho.
I ve been coming to the oasis since 2003 before the big renovations. Decided to take family for the scenery and food. They truly enjoyed the atmosphere. The waiter was very friendly and the food was great. We were a party of 6 and didn t have to wait long on a Friday night.
Our server was really great, the place is beautiful and the views are epic! The Pecan Porter is the best beer I had while visiting Texas!
My only critique is on the food. The chicken on the fajita was a little overcooked. Additionally, the menu says the burger comes medium well? Why can it not be cooked to temp per order? I feel that needs to be improved. Austin is known for it's food scene so I expected more from the Oasis. However, other than my quibble on the food, I thought this was a cool place to spend a Saturday!
This place is amazing! The views are incredible. The food and drink selection is very good and they has live music.
Pork enchiladas were really good. They also make great skinny margaritas. This place is all about the view of Lake Travis though, it never gets old.
Impolite waiters with terrible food.
The only positive point is a great view to lake, we orders 3 different food but we just could eat chips and salsa. Beef and chicken were not fresh and just reheated!!!!! You pay the price for high quality and delicious food while you will served a terrible food.
Waiters are so rude...
I do not recommend that restaurant to anyone. If you are curious to visit there, just drink don t eat any thing.
A nice spot with picturesque view of the lake, and a true Texan flavor around that place.
Just an amazing place well decorated and with an awesome view
The food is average, but views are just simply amazing.
Combine great music with amazing views and tasty drinks and you've got a winner!!
Great view of the lake, excellent costumer service and big portion appetizer. Great place to get a drink and snack, with an amazing sunset!!!
Jameson...great server. Sal is super great too!
The views are worth every minute/penny!
Miranda is the BEST!
Great food! Must try the falafels. Shawarma and Kebab are good too
Food is just ok but the view was very good from the top so paying for view only
Better eat some other place and everything is overpriced
FOOD was good. Fajitas were awesome. Margaritas were good. Why the three stars? The waiter. Unpersonable and pushy. Rushing us to order and gave me the check before I was finish with dinner. Watched the other waiters/waitresses, very laxed and friendly. But, this waiter, sucked.
Great place for a wedding! Food is fabulous and the view breathtaking for a beautiful wedding venue!
The atmosphere and Austin experience is what is okay. The food is definitely not what u want to go for.
My wife and I grabbed a drink at the bar and walked outside to sit at a table and enjoy the view. We were told the only way to sit at one of the 30 empty tables outside is by going through the hostess and getting a waitress... they should really consider a first come bar top seating area outside...
-The place smells like a College bar does on a Saturday morning.
-The view is excellent
-please consider removing the hundreds of padlocks on the fence-if you re known for the view why obstruct it with those things?
In summary, it was worth the long winding drive to check out once, but not likely going out of our way for this place again.
Horrible food, overly priced and bad service. Chillies or Applebee's have better food. Nice view though.
Great view , long wait , overpriced food that s not that great . The server we had was super rude and seemed annoyed . The food was a lot better at the brewery. Definitely just great because of the view
