IFA Ferien-Centrum Südstrand Review

Unfortunately, I cannot understand the poorer ratings. The hotel and the rooms are clean, the staff friendly and the food was great at the time (not Corona). But prices are not overpriced and it just feels like a holiday. Thanks for that.

Good location, no problems with parking, rooms are functional but not inferior. From the other rooms you get nothing. Staff stays discreet and does not bother. The view of the lake is very relaxing. Ice balls are offered at the "marche". The usual food, fries, etc., are the price a bit higher, the preparation takes slightly increased order inquiries too long. A simple mantle plate then lasts 27 minutes, although only six simple dishes have been ordered before. There is still room for improvement. It is also a pity that smoking is allowed or tolerated in the dining area.

For a short break we were six, the first time in the flat building of Vitamar found. So far, our accommodation has always been a city apartment in Burg.
Although the apartment (2 1/2 room) has been relatively small with about 43 m2, she scored with decent amenities, daily 2 hrs. Free entrance to the wave pool, the large "winter garden" in front of the three towers and many Leisure facilities even in bad weather offers - TT, BILLARD, PLAYGROUND ... food, drink, etc ... plus the small sauna and the small swimming pool in the house.
Outstanding was the direct beach location and the view over the dune to the Baltic Sea from the balcony.
The whole was in January for 63 per night for four nights to have.
Overall, we can imagine coming back - but then in the 55 m2 apartment.
At this point, I would like to praise the very friendly and flexible reception staff.
Note: The Bordershop in Puttgarden is a worth seeing shopper's paradise, which revolves over four floors exclusively to alcohol and sweets - very popular with the Danes.

Building sins from the sixties - but I have since 1972 (first Fehmarn - stay) used to it. On bad weather days you can stroll around and delicious food - to recommend the all you can eat buffet!

Still a block in the surf! Should be renovated in my opinion since the 80s. Positive is of course that it is right on the beach. This view of the sea is really unobstructable.

Nice reception, clean rooms and a fantastic view of the Baltic Sea, good cuisine, friendly staff and great bike paths for relaxed tours by bike.

We were a guest at IFA Ferienpark Fehmarn for an extended weekend in early February 2020. We were totally thrilled, everything went great. Starting with the hotel room, the unforgettable sea view from the 14th floor, the always friendly staff at the reception and in the Windrose restaurant. On the last evening there was a delicious fondue meal.

It's really difficult to judge something here. Since we knew where we were going and we would never fault this prefabricated building. On the contrary, it was a good choice at that time to commission Arne Jacobsen in 1966 to create this large whole ensemble. And for me, monument protection is fully justified for this great achievement.
Above all the idea with the lamellas as parapet is very strong.
I would also like to have checked in here in 1974. But the paint is off. For me, real renovation backlog just because the location here is top notch, one must not forget the rest. Our bathroom was almost original equipment and the environment in the house has already reached its zenith. We already had better IFA hotels. We don't even start with price performance. Because almost 3000 in summer for the same room for fourteen is a house number.

We are now the 11th year on Fehmarn, the 3rd of which in the IFA Hotel.
I am completely satisfied; Wonderful view, in case of problems the staff will act immediately, children have a program here every day and a huge range of games.
Half-board doesn't appeal to me personally, as you sometimes go out to eat when you're on vacation.
In addition to the "age", the apartments are also not recommended "if" more than 2 people are arriving. Because someone has to sleep on a more than worn-out sofa bed. Still very, very clean .. Bathroom without window and a ventilation over the shower are also old-fashioned ... We look forward to reading about a renovation soon so that we can come back here for our next vacation.

Great apartment with a small kitchen. But the best is the view.

Unfortunately the hotel itself is getting very old and needs to be completely renovated!
The kitchen isn't the best either ... Apparently a lot of ready-made food, which wasn't even well prepared! Selection with half board in the evening was very poor! Better to just book with breakfast and go out to eat in the evening! You definitely have more of it!

Everything was fine, especially the mega view over the Baltic Sea.

The reception staff should clearly think about the service philosophy prevailing in the house. The reception in the house was unbeatable in its outrageous and decisive tone.

Unfortunately we have to rate it negatively.
There is hardly anything in terms of renovation. The sofa bed squeaks and the old toilet bowl smelled of urine. Something has to be done here.
The rest of the equipment is not better. Bedding is old and muffled.
We know that the management in the hotel can do nothing and is slowed down by the headquarters in Spain ....

Out of season in a short break here. The food was great, service was fine. Gladly again, sometimes longer.

Spent 8 days in a 1 room Fernblickappartment on the 11th floor. The view is great and the room was good and very clean. Only the bathroom has come in years. The staff no matter in which area are friendly and very courteous and helpful. The breakfast buffet is great and there is a wide choice.

I can not say anything about the hotel. The other complex is nice but already getting old. Everything but very relaxing and friendly people.

Great family vacation, in decent holiday apartments. The atmosphere of the 3Blocks is getting used to, but the apartments themselves really great. We had a room on the 6th floor, the view was great. The complex offers a lot, from the snack bar, beach bar, pizzeria, small supermarket, swimming pool, etc. .. 3km away there are all sorts of supermarkets, a great marine center and the beautiful town castle. The beach is just great, the water was very clean. We were not sure if we would come back to these blocks, but in terms of the price and the great location by all means.

There are some games like air hockey, table football, mini table golf, billiards etc. However, you have to pay extra . Is just a tourist resort. A wave pool is also there and a spa area. Love the place..we have been coming here for three consecutive times.Have to tell other people about my wonderful experience.

Sea view from every side. Nice beach chairs to linger. Small stands for snacks. Fruit stand selling homemade liquor. The town of Burg with its small houses is always beautiful to look at. A successful vacation.

Great location. Right on the south beach. However, the hotel area is getting old. Will come back anyway.

Very nice for recreational activities in the rain .. Playground and restaurants, plus pubs and well-kept toilet facilities .. Billiards, table tennis, a small game hall for children and more .. Go there every year on holiday at least once.

Price performance is right.
Windows and doors are also tight, and it does NOTHING, which some have claimed. Optically not so nice from the outside, but rooms are clean and staff friendly.

We have been going to the island for more than twenty years. If you like the quiet after a stressful job and the location right on the water, is right here. Of course it's off in the main season. Well-kept large complex, holiday apartments have little old building, but nice and quiet in autumn, nice staff. There are good opportunities to relax, eat, swim and shop.

The distant view of the sea is indescribable. The staff, whether reception, cleaning .., all very nice. Also praiseworthy that the staff pays attention to the mask requirement for the guests. To mention positive is the proximity to the beach and the central location. To be considered negative is that we were told that there were problems with the WLAN but still working temporarily. However, the fact is that it did not work during our stay. The balcony has no drain and is thus under water after rain. The equipment of the kitchen left a lot to be desired (2 spoons, only small cups?), The vacuum cleaner is broken, the living room is uncomfortably decorated, the couch is much too small and hard. In the elevator it smells extremely unpleasant.
Conclusion: The price / performance ratio fits in the smallest way.
This rating is only for the smaller houses, the skyscrapers we can not judge.

If you like 70 years of chic in concrete castles, you better go to Spain. I hope somebody will come up with the idea of demolishing this atrocity. Maybe the coast can be saved after all. Small holiday homes in typical local style would be prettier and for the "holidaymakers" completely sufficient. Like all these holiday makers, starting with Prora, a bad investment.

Very nice room with a view of the Baltic Sea. Large spacious accommodation with a small kitchen. Friendly welcome. Extremely unfriendly lady at the front desk upon departure. I save the details. This lady managed to turn an initial positive impression completely into the opposite. This hotel is not recommended, I will not stay here again. There are much more pleasant accommodations.

The hotel has a very good position, being right on the beach. It has three bodies, all three in the shape of fans. That means they all have a sea view. We were accommodated in the first building, the one next to the shops and the supermarket and we had an apartment. For families with children, the apartment is ideal. We had a bathroom with bathtub, furnished and equipped kitchen, including dishes, pots, pans, coffee mugs, coffee makers, bread cakes, hobs and refrigerators. Only the microwave was missing. Downstairs there is a supermarket where you can stock up on everything you want and also on the ground floor of the hotel I saw two restaurants and a pizzeria. Next to the hotel is an indoor pool to which we had free access two hours a day if we present the card from the rooms. The rooms were never cleaned (I stayed 5 days). We found garbage bags and we also had a vacuum cleaner in the room to make our own. Everyone takes their sorted garbage. It was a program displayed and a list of places to go cardboard and glass. The dumpster is next to the elevator on each floor. We were very pleased with the conditions and especially with the view, see the sea in all its splendor from the living room table to a glass of wine. Unfortunately, although I was in August, the weather was not for entering the water. It rained for a few days and the water was very cold anyway. Instead, very fine sand, large and clean beach. I recommend you try it at least once.

We had a apartment for 4 people without food. For a few days it was ok. Sea-view. Everything's o.k.

We stayed there for 2 nights with our 1 year old daughter.
We had our apartment in Haus Vitamar.
It was really nice there, although we didn't have a room with a balcony or a view of the Baltic Sea, but it was still nice.
The room was clean and comfortable so that you felt comfortable right away.
the staff was always friendly and helped wherever they could.
A bit bothered us that there was a lack of signs (to restaurants, etc.).
But all in all really recommendable especially with children

Top location, cleanliness of the apartments is fine, facilities just so. The Wi-Fi definitely needs improvement.

The location is Dr absolute madness. Unfortunately, the apartments are in a not so great condition from the outside. Inside amicable and functional. The beach is wonderful. The promenade is also getting old. However, everyone is very friendly and the food is great too.

Nice room with a great view. The bathroom is a bit small and there are too few cupboards for a family room. The staff is very friendly and the hotel clean and well-kept. :)

The hotel looks gray from the outside, but from the inside clean and nice

We have been visiting IFA Hotels for 12 years. Unfortunately the rooms get worse from year to year. Here literally not only time stands still. The bathroom smelled indefinable. There were splashes of feces under the glasses. We found hair in the bathroom as well as on the bed. The sofa bed smelled like old urine. The coating on the balcony peeled off. Probably because it was always wet when it rained and stayed for a long time. The entire house is in a state between old-fashioned and lost place.
Play equipment for which you have to pay a lot of money and all other equipment is in a critical condition. Water dripped from the ceiling onto the electronic gaming machines. The prices of the shops in the hotel are completely excessive. Not even the swimming pool is clean. Apart from the fact that there are group changing rooms that can be seen from the outside with the door open. The gastronomy in the area is also outrageously expensive for the rather poor service and quality offered. There is one star for the beautiful Baltic Sea. However, there are also those without IFA. The coffee at the 15 euro breakfast tastes like a tea egg.

It's getting more and more shocking here. Room as almost always dirty and unclean. Staff reacted to complaint absolutely unfriendly. Inventory in the room not complete, furniture urgently needs to be replaced.
You pay a pig price for a dump and that in the hotel.

The only bar in the holiday center is closed, allegedly because the Corona requirements cannot be met. Absolute nonsense! You have to get your drinks from a snack bar!
You are forced to go to your room at 10 p.m. or drive into town to have a drink.
The only thing that is beautiful is the view, but the price is too high for that. Nothing has changed here and nothing will change.

Flyers and posters still advertise staff (good staff) who have not been there for years.

Eating in the compass rose is not recommended and everything is cooked in the pizzeria, but definitely not Italian!

We had the sunniest weather you can have on the Baltic Sea. The location of the hotel right on the great beach is just fantastic. There is no more or better, just wonderful. In the hotel, great service all around, all employees were always very friendly and helpful. The rooms are all with a great sea view, completely sufficiently spacious, everything you need is there & we slept great. Despite corona requirements !! At breakfast and dinner (always fish / meat) the service and the offer was very varied and everything was fresh. Many thanks to the always friendly staff. Fehmarn is definitely worth a trip, great landscape, many excursion possibilities by bike etc.
Public bus connections to Burg are not very flexible.
Conny's bike rental right at the hotel <ABER> bikes not really recommended
(old) - sold out quickly, you have to reserve e-bikes, there is no phone call, zero service.

We had a holiday apartment with a small kitchen. For the short break more than adequate. But our room was upstairs and right on the roof above us were a lot of seagulls that made a noise all night. Relaxation and sleep through was unthinkable.

Nice staff, it is very concerned about the guest, the hotel or the apartments are totally by, the cleaning ladies should also be retrained. Everything has such a barracks charm, is somehow broken and unkempt. The island is beautiful, but next time another hotel.

Beautiful beach. The people were very unfriendly. The apartment was not clean and small so take everything from home. Lots of spiders and ... Mosquitos in the room and balcony. You can do a lot with the children. Pizza not good. The soft ice cream yummy.

I went on this vacation rather skeptical and was more than positively surprised.

As a guest on the 9th floor, in the morning, at noon and in the evening, I was offered a spectacular view of the sea that is second to none - madness!
Yes, the rooms are a bit old in terms of furnishings, but they are spacious and clean. The mattress could have been a little harder, but I slept well.
