Since 1999 the IED belongs to the Venetian Institute of Sciences, Letters and Arts, has its headquarters inside the Palazzo Cavalli Franchetti.
In the heart of the historic center of Venice there is a conference center, equipped with the most updated technological systems, with conference rooms, meeting rooms, exhibition rooms and a large garden.
Over the years, after several works of arrangement and rearrangements over the centuries and the significant intervention of the second noble floor, it still retains the mobile-boiserie that was used for the Central Casellario. It is a masterly neo-Gothic bookcase and shelving of surprising quality and effect, served on the upper floor by two spiral staircases, arranged specularly on one of the heads of the room (the work explicitly refers to the lines of the Boitian staircase).
