Stayed here for a night as part of a birthday celebration. The place has a lot of character. Highly recommended. Breakfast the next morning is free and worth it.

Really enjoyed lunch with my wife today. The server, Jessica was very friendly and personable. I had the French onion soup and filet steak sandwich. Very good portion size and exceptionally executed. I would definitely go again if the time ever came back.

Excellent service. Beautiful property and updating of the building. The restaurant is also very very good. The food is amazing. All in all we have had a wonderful stay. I would definitely come back here.

Spent the night here on our wedding night. Was a beautiful little hotel with lots of character. We checked in around 1am with ease. Got into our nice classic looking room with high ceilings, big windows and large bed. Bathroom was fully updated and modern very clean. We enjoyed using the supplied bath robes, and slippers. Was really a good feeling waking up there. Downstairs there was a professional pianist and sounded great. Great experience thanks!

Our Crown Jewels/Red Hat Chapter had a lovely luncheon in The Parlour while we had fun wearing our Ugly Xmas Sweaters. Staff were so accommodating and all our meals were just the best. An ideal venue for our get together in a safe environment.

Food was good but when I found that my cheesecake was full of blue mold. I told waitress and she did not do anything for me, I was quite disappointed for being a high end and priced restaurant.

The Idlewyld Inn was a mixed experience for me. While the majority of the food was of good quality, there was a very long wait time.

What an amazing place for a little getaway! Every person that worked there was so sincere and kind! All the guests we crossed our paths with were also so nice to interact with. The room was beautiful, the spa was delightful (had the best facial ever!), the restaurant experience was so great. And I was so impressed with the coffee they served - it was very, very good! Thank you! Can't wait to come back!

We went for dinner tonight to try out their Londonlicious menu and really enjoyed it. We had the caesar salad for starter which was good and the marinated pork tenderloin entree which was delicious! Only slight disappointment was that the chocolate brulee was not ready yet for dessert so there was a chocolate mousse option instead. Still a yummy dessert though! Very personable and attentive staff as well serving tonight.

Excellent hotel in historical building built in 1880s. Amazing restaurant. Top-notch breakfast included in the price. I d say it was a great value. The finishes in the room were not the top and the remodelling was done a bit sloppy, which was surprising. But thanks to the atmosphere of a historical building and thanks to a great service, along with a fantastic restaurant experience, it s definitely my top choice in the region.

From the check-in to our massages and dinner, the staff were beyond hospitable and welcoming. It is the perfect weekend getaway if you're in search of a relaxing and quaint experience and the accommodations were very exceptionally well kept. Had an amazing chocolate souffle and a great breakfast buffet to end the trip.

I like this place for my accommodations while in London. It is an adult house (not "fun" for kids). The service is friendly and prompt. It is a good (not great) mix of old and new. I'll be back.

Idlewyld is a hidden gem! Every part of my meal was amazing. Love the rotating menu. The facility is top notch! Beautifully decorated and renovated while keeping the historic charm. Our server Kathryn was very attentive and fun. The grounds were also beautifully kept! We will be back again. Next time we will try the summer BBQ on the patio.

Idlewyld is a charming Inn in the heart of London. The staff were warm and available to serve each guest. The dinner that was part of our package was absolutely delicious.

We booked an elopement package here in order to have an intimate wedding, close to home, in a beautiful venue. We are so pleased with how everything turned out. The pictures of the Inn do not do it justice. It's breathtaking. Every room is unique and the service is second to none.
Effie and Cara were so easy and lovely to deal with when making arrangements for the day and everything was so very stress free. We had a quick afternoon service with Jeff Hicks (officiant arranged by the Inn) who was incredible and warm for having just met us! We had a private dinner with amazing food and then had a dozen or so friends in for cocktails that evening, all in the beautiful Drawing Room. Brian, our server for the night was efficient, patient and incredibly pleasant. That said, every single staff member we encountered was helpful and accommodating. I cannot recommend this location enough. For just a night, for a meal or for any special occasion you need to have a unique venue for, you will not be disappointed with the Idlewyld.

This is a high end dining room. The ambiance is very nice. The menu is somewhat limited, which could a be a good thing. We were therefore suprised that some of the meals arrived cold at the table.

Always hear good things and the breakfast is spectacular on Fridays.

When it comes to detail and service, every aspect of the Inn is without flaw, at least during our four-day stay. My mother had wanted to visit her home town after having been away for decades and the Idlewyld Inn & Spa provided the ideal home for us to use in our visit. We had the benefit of the summer climate, and the gardens were at their peak--just spectacular. The gardener is more than happy to share his advice on the flowers and shrubs. The restaurant was exceptional. We cannot speak highly enough of the imaginative lunches and dinners. We found the main meals so delicious that a light continental breakfast with fresh fruit, smoked salmon and bagels, homemade granola, and a selection of bread and yogurt was perfect for us. We couldn't have asked for anything more and we left the Idlewyld Inn and Spa thoroughly relaxed and well-rested.

Was completely blown away by this place when I first arrived with my partner. It s one hell of a location. We were kindly welcomed by one of the staff who discussed the history of the building, and then we were shown to our comfortable room. The TV was a little outdated and on its last legs, but the rest of the amenities were fantastic.

The staff at the desk were also very helpful, and the complementary breakfast was enjoyable, if a little sparse.

Parking also seemed to be an issue depending on how busy the place was, but fortunately we always had a space to park.

A Hidden Gem
We celebrated our 20th anniversary this weekend. The inn is charming, picturesque & unique. Alicia checked me in with ease and was very friendly. I started my get away in the spa. I had a relaxing manicure/pedicure with Sherry. Clean, friendly & great conversation.
We had dinner at 5pm. Delicious dosn't describe the meal. From start to finish every thing was perfect, thank you Dave!
Our room was CLEAN, and our anniversary was noted.
Breakfast was fresh and as delicious as dinner.
Outstanding staff, culinary & property!
Thank you for helping make our weekend perfect. We look forward to making a yearly visit apart of our anniversary!

Beautiful restored mansion with tasteful, upgraded rooms that work with the charming old architecture ( my favs have balconies!) . Very attentive staff and wonderful food! Adding a massage rounds off a perfect stay!

Met three friends and had a delicious relaxing lunch. Our server was wonderful. I have been before and will go again. Highly recommended.

It was a wonderful place for dinner and to spend the night. It is so quaint and elegant.

The inn is gorgeous, and the room we had was beautiful. We got the slumber party package, everything was better than described. The meat and cheese platter was gigantic! Would absolutely recommend.

All the staff made my stay very enjoyable. I heard great things about their food and although I didn't have the pleasure to eat dinner there due to a late check in, their breakfast was great! Room was very clean and the historic character was a refreshing break from hotel rooms.

My first stay at Idlewyld Inn & Spa (April 7-9) was exceptional! My partner and I loved the stunning decor of the Inn, especially the artwork and beautiful grand piano in the dinning room. The rooms were elegant, sound proof and clean. We had dinner in the restaurant on the Saturday evening which was delicious. I was extremely fortunate that the head chef has Celiac disease as well, so he knew and could appreciate the severity of serving someone with Celiac Disease. He modified my main dish to accommodate my gluten free needs. In addition, our waitress Katherine was exceptional. Katherine was kind, polite and very attentive to our needs. When we asked her what she would suggest we visit in London the next day (since we were from out of town), she sat down at the table after writing a list of activities and then mapped out each place for us. We are so thankful for the generosity that the staff showed us during our stay.

This historic Inn has been beautifully restored! Celebrated my sisters birthday with a pajama party pedi spa with awesome appies and wine!! Spent the night and had a delicious breakfast in the morning! I can't wait to go back again!!

Great food, very large selection of top shelf whiskeys, service and atmosphere is fantastic.

I had a wonderful time at the Idlewyld! The place is so homely and there is so much charm in each and every room. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful. This hotel easily rivals some 5 star hotels I've stayed in.

I was disappointed with my first experience at the spa recently. My husband had surprised me with three services. The sliding door dividing the treatment rooms allowed me to hear every word of another client and therapist during the first hour of my services. There was a ticking clock a foot from my head which was louder than the ambient spa music. In an effort to "escape" time for a while, this did not help. The therapists were competent but distant. I have never had such an aggressive facial before. The bathroom was unavailable because it is located in the adjoining treatment room. I will seek out other spas in the future, in an effort to relax and feel pampered.
