Very nice place to learn more about local plants and sustainability. We wen't there on a public holiday so missed a tour. Luckily the security guard gave us a private tour through the garden and explained everything to my friend who speaks a bit Bahasa Indonesia. He picked us a fresh passionfruit at the end :)

People's come from all over the world to learn about permaculture and living in harmony with nature at this long established foundation. IDEP works across Indonesia to support communities who have aspirations for resilience, disaster preparedness and sustainability. Pop in on Friday mornings for community garden day. You'll love it.

About IDEP Foundation

The Body Shop® Indonesia joins the Bali Water Protection program

IDEP Foundation: Empowering Communities for Sustainable Development

The Body Shop® Indonesia has recently joined hands with the IDEP Foundation to support the Bali Water Protection program. IDEP Foundation is a non-profit organization that works towards empowering communities in Indonesia for sustainable development. The foundation was established in 1999 by a group of Indonesian and foreign volunteers who were concerned about the environmental and social issues faced by local communities.

Since its inception, IDEP Foundation has been working tirelessly to promote sustainable living practices, disaster preparedness, and community-based natural resource management. The foundation believes that empowering local communities is key to achieving sustainable development goals.

One of the major programs run by IDEP Foundation is the Bali Water Protection program. This program aims to protect Bali's water resources from pollution and degradation caused by human activities such as tourism, agriculture, and waste disposal. The program focuses on educating local communities about water conservation practices, promoting eco-friendly tourism practices, and implementing waste management systems.

The partnership between The Body Shop® Indonesia and IDEP Foundation is a significant step towards achieving these goals. As part of this partnership, The Body Shop® Indonesia will be supporting various initiatives under the Bali Water Protection program such as beach cleanups, educational workshops on waste management and recycling, and community-based water conservation projects.

Apart from its work on environmental issues, IDEP Foundation also runs several other programs aimed at promoting sustainable development in Indonesia. These include disaster preparedness training programs for vulnerable communities such as farmers and fishermen; organic farming training programs; health education programs; women's empowerment initiatives; and youth leadership development programs.

IDEP Foundation's work has received recognition both nationally and internationally. In 2015, it was awarded the prestigious Equator Prize by United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) for its outstanding contribution towards advancing sustainable development solutions for people living in poverty around the world.

In conclusion, IDEP Foundation is an inspiring example of how non-profit organizations can make a real difference in promoting sustainable development at grassroots levels. Its focus on empowering local communities through education and capacity building sets it apart from other organizations working in this field. With partners like The Body Shop® Indonesia supporting its initiatives under the Bali Water Protection program, we can hope to see positive changes in protecting Bali's precious water resources while improving livelihoods of those who depend upon them most!
