The Bad:

The Bad:
The reception didn't have any adapters, this hotel is next to the airport and should be prepared to have adapters that will help foreigners connect their plugs to the EU wall outlet. I even asked if I could buy one and there wasn't one. The coffee machine in the tea and coffee lounge doesn't give out hot water, the water is cold and I couldn't make a tea. Climate control wasn't working properly in the room. TV doesn't change channels. The usb output in the room was weak and charged very slowly.

The good:
Polite staff, fast wifi, tasty breakfast, nice interior, and great shuttle service.

The hotel room was fine, but I sat at the restaurant for like 20 min before anyone comes to ask me what I would like to order. But overall it was a fine hotel, nice lobby, fine rooms and good service.

Even though in the middle of nowhere squeezed between Amsterdam South business district and Schiphol Airport, there is a busstation close by with every so often a bus to the airport, Amsterdam or Haarlem city. Rooms are great for the purpose of sleep and shower. WiFi is okay but IBIS have rather pay you the premium price instead of using it for free, Breakfast is priced for the amount you get but the other option is McDonald's near the busstation (with great view of nearby runway) the free transfer to airport is much appreciated but we didn't make use for it as we took the regular bus. Quicker, & comfortable. Over all, when I am in Amsterdam for a long transfer I will opt for this hotel again.

The hotel seemed clean and nice at first. Especially since I have been upgraded to a nicer room. Despite all this, I had a bad experience with the staff. In the middle of the night somebody knocked at my door and said they are going to open. I had no clothes on and told them to wait so that I can put something on and open up.

It was a woman and a security man. The woman didn t keep the 1,5 m distance to me and had her face cover/mask put down all the time. Then the security inspected my room and touched everything WITHOUT GLOVES!
They accused me of smoking in the room and said they can see it on the alarm, although it showed no signal and wasn t giving out any noise.
And again, they accused me of smoking and were very rude.

From then on I was frightened somebody could enter my room anytime while I was sleeping. I was scared and it was a terrible experience!

My flight was cancelled so the airline company gave us rooms at hotel ibis. The staff was immediately very nice to us even though it was 5:00 AM. Especially the man behind the reception counter whose name is Patrick. Special complements to him.

Amsterdam was last destination in our Europe trip ...

Amsterdam was last destination in our Europe trip Nd was spoiled by the Ibis Schiphol Amsterdam hotel. We booked the hotel from April 27 to April 29 and stayed as per our scheduled reservation. However; our booking was marked as no show and we have been charged with a cancellation fee when we were already staying in the hotel. We reached out to Miss/Mrs. Ingrid who had checked us into the hotel regarding this and she assured that cancellation charge of 99 would be adjusted towards the total bill, however; we have received mails from our bank for cancellation charges over and above the booking charges which is inappropriate. Charging my card for inappropriate and irresponsible behaviour by hotel is not appreciated. We have been trying to reach out to hotel through mails and phone calls but one of the representative hung up on us and rest kept on passing the call from one department to the other.

We did not expect such a behaviour from such a renowned hotel chain and would raise this issue further for dispute if not resolved at earliest.

I arrived at night and realized that the hallway of the room was very dirty carpet, during the week it continued in the same state, there were used swabs thrown to the floor and they continued there all the time, demonstrating that it really was not clean. The laundry room had the old doors and the peeling paint, the soap dispenser was throwing soap on all sides except the container, there was soap scattered all over the counter and floor. The water in the hotel shop cost more than in the downtown tourist shops, I do not understand the stubbornness for so much profit, since they were already earning with the stay they could be more reasonable in cost, I would even understand if it were other products like beer and soft drinks, but water is a staple. Since there were no markets or restaurants near the hotel, being in a secluded part of the city, it seemed more like a purposeful exploration of the client who was held hostage there for lack of choice, a deplorable attitude of the administration. The beds were not comfortable, spring mattresses with little foam cover, you could feel the springs in them. The room was extremely cramped. The building was all poorly planned with useless empty spaces in the lobby while missing in the rooms, uncomfortable furniture, high tables and low chairs. I would have no intention of returning to this hotel and would definitely discourage any acquaintance from staying in it.

Room was nice and check in and parking all arranged very handy.
I think the shutlle bus is the only point of attention. We were waiting with a huge number of people and the bus was not fully packed with even half of the people. The rest had to wait for the next shuttle bus. Of course it didn't go as it should, because the cheekiest ones could get in and the rest had to wait. So a number that just arrived pushed a large number aside and with that there were many irritations. driver was not interested in anything and clearly showed that. So hotel was great. transfer could be better.

It was impossible to sleep with all the noises that were going on. Walls must be paper thin... can clearly hear doors closing loudly. The cleaner knocked a couple of times trying to get in before checkout time until he finally came into the room and saw that I was still in bed and then left.

Very nice, the hotel is equipped with Lounge Bar and other types of entertainment for all guests, I found this aspect very pleasant as, if you have no way to reach the center of Amsterdam, or other particular places, the hotel guest has the opportunity to spend the evening inside the hotel itself, it is a very very large and comfortable hotel ... The location is very convenient for those who have to take a flight early in the morning, the shuttle service the airport is very useful, practical and fast.

The rooms are OK, finctional, but a bit small. The Hotel is being renovated so there are some rooms that seem quite old and others are brabd new. You have to be lucky. It is 10 minutes by shuttle (free) from the airport.

Having spent 4 nights in amsterdam for the first t...

Having spent 4 nights in amsterdam for the first time at the IBIS hotel, me and my partner was a first reluctant to stay in a new area and at a hotel in a different country. As me and my partner are from the UK we had very little knowledge of dutch or any other languages spoken in Amsterdam.

Upon arriving at the hotel we had chose to pay with cash rather than a PP payment however wen we arrived we was told a COMPLETELY different price as to what we was told on the internet/ booking page. This meant we had to take money out of our spending money in order to pay for our reservation and we was checking in quite late due to just getting off our flight to Amsterdam. So we pretty tired.

However the worst part was the Lady who was a "supervisor" did not clarify why we was charged a different price until asked twice by myself ...but she was a supervisor? This was a first downfall and a disappointment.

Our rooms for the rest of the course of our stay was excellent even one housekeeping lady who's name we did not catch did an excellent job on our room and defo attended to our needs. Also the staff in the resturant located on the second floor are lovely and polite.

But what lacked and ruined our stay the most was the lack of communication between the receptionist staff and the Guest. In my expereinece as a hotel receptionist this is not professional and GUESTS should be a hotels main focus. I very much doubt we will be staying here again due to the feeling me and my partner occurred.

well-kept hotel and tidy,
Point for improvement: communication went bad. At check-in we paid breakfast for all 7 guests but the next day they were refused because breakfast would not have been paid. After a lot of calling and explaining to reception it turned out that the day before had been properly processed in the system.
Otherwise good and cared for

Nice and clean. Good selection with coffee, lunch and nice restaurant with good food in the hotel. Also nice bar for evening and fresh gym with both weights and machines.
Breakfast buffet was ok with generous times from 4-12. Possibility to stay cheaper without breakfast, or pay day by day. This, however, creates queues for other guests who have already paid, waiting to dot off the list. That system should be improved.
Had requests for porridge breakfast during the Marathon weekend but it was not possible even though there were many guests who lived there just for that event.
Could opt out of the cleaning with a sign if you live for several days and then get 5 eur / day to use in the restaurant or bar. Smart system! Good shuttle bus between airport and hotel, went regularly and free of charge as well. To be close to the airport, it was not much fuss. Nothing that disturbed at night. Could wake up in the morning with a bit of noisy noise.

Was a nice stay. Felt like room and shower room both were very small. Service was timely and place was tidy. Close to airport and free transportation to airport from the shuttles provided by the hotel.

The hotel is clean & quiet, great location, and breakfast is fabulous. Bus service is on time, but always crowded. Maybe the hotel need to add more bus, since the bus is serving 3 hotels & always very full.

There is no refrigerator, air conditioning in the room, in the corridors it is not that dirty, but also not clean. Insanely expensive price for parking 17.5 euros per day. They took a room for three, reminded the cabin on the ferry (just as closely and spartan) if I knew how much parking would cost - it would have been better if I didn t take a chain hotel in the center of Amsterdam, or for the same money I looked at the park in. Ibis was very disappointed, hardly ever decide to book a room in this grid.

Small but cozy and clean. Toilet mat was not available causing toilet floor to be wet and slippery. Loved the interior and ambience at the lobby, felt the Dutch concept, breakfast was amazingly good and Dutch style. Overall great experience.

Overall the experience of staying in hotel was great. Staff was very nice. We liked lots of choices of food for breakfast. Even though hotel isn't near city we liked that bus station is nearby.
The only complaint we have is that our bed wasn't flat- it had indentation in the middle, so it was hard to sleep on it.

The stay was pleasant as expected. The rooms were clean and quiet. The bed comfortable. The wet room could do a thorough cleaning well. Positive to mention is the free coffee machine with coffee.
Breakfast was a little more expensive but good quality as usual from Ibis.
Very negative is the park-price policy. On the first day 17,50 and from the 2nd day 5, - it would be for hotel guests as well. Just under 90 for 5 days is an absolute rip off. To charge so much money for an outdoor parking lot without active guarding definitely got me to not book this hotel again.

Pros. Ibis Hotel at Schipohl was clean, and contained everything that one could need for an overnight stay. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom very nice- small, modern and clean. I had dinner at the restaurant where the food was reasonable, not great but very acceptable. Airport shuttle service was free and very convenient. The complimentary coffee and iced water service on the ground floor was great.
Cons. My only complaint would be with reception where although my greeting was friendly and I was the only one at the desk- no line behind me- my check in was then handled at such a speed that i could hardly comprehend or remember everything that was said to me! Slow down for goodness sake!!
