I'm a Lyft driver and was there for a permit and the very nice lady called for help because there were a lot of drivers filling out applications. Russell was very rude and told her to shut it down and we could come back.

Terminal could be maintained better, it looks a little dingy. Security is often a long chore, seems like it is below average compared to other airports. I find that figuring out where to go is a little tougher than it is at many airports.

I went to this airport on a layover from LA to Panama. I was unhappy because their was a delay. Sounds like a bad review coming, but no. The facilities were great, the staff was nice (even earlier in the morning), and their are plenty of food and shopping options. I don't like layovers and i dont like flight delays but if they are in George Bush Intercontinental Airport its not that bad.

The Houston airport is very poorly set up. We had to go through customs again upon arriving internationally, which meant that the liquids that I had purchased inside the airport (and that had never left a secure area) were confiscated from me upon my arrival. I did not check a bag, so I intentionally purchased these liquids from inside the airport so that I could bring them back to the States with me as gifts in my carry on. I had no idea that they would be taken from me upon arriving to Houston. There should be a customs for passengers coming from the outside only.

This Houston Airport is one of the most busiest airport in the U.S. Personally, I am not a fan coz when it's big, you have to walk alot between connected flights. There are like 5 terminals, you may have to take monrail from one terminal to another. Make sure you checked your gate of your flight often coz they can change very quickly. My original gate was Terminal C, but 1 hour prior, changed to Terminal E.

Anyhow, it does offer lots of food choices. It has tons of restos, bars, lounges and I went for Chic Fil A. There are also quite a number of Duty Free spots depending on the Terminal you are in.

They also have self-serve convenience store. Basically, you pick up what you want, like a pack of chewing gum, magazine, snacks and you check out yourself, there is completely no one there to serve you. I don't know what happens when you have questions or automation issues and I guess if someone tries to steal something, they have security to run after when they do happen?

The airport is very upscale and has a lot of things to offer travelers. It is overall very nice. Some of the layout design choices are questionable. For some gates they do not go in the correct order so it can be confusing. The staff is very friendly. There is plenty of places to eat and drink. If you are stuck here for layover you will not be bored either. This does not compare to Atlanta but it does come high up there.

I arrived 4 hours before my flight to beat the Houston traffic. Parked my truck, and shuttled to the airport. The tran system is not in operation, and a person cannot walk to C gate while in the subway due to a ceiling collapse.. There are shuttles available all the time outside.
Everyone inside the airport was friendly.
There are a lot of places where you want to buy something, you scan it, you pay for it! I had no clue! I was wondering where the sales clerk was! There were none! Whelp, more machines taking away someone's job!
Not many people in the airport, could we blame that on covid19?

What kind of airport opens only a single passport check for international arrivals at 7:30PM on a Monday. Very disrespectful and careless. Making all these people wait 2 hours on their feet after a long flight. Single passport check! Unbelievable.

Traveling should be a fun and relaxing experience from beginning to end. Thank you so much for giving me a bad start.

This is the 15th busiest airport in the United states serving the greater Houston metropolitan area. The airport originally named Houston international airport was later renamed after George H. W Bush. It covers 10,000 acres of land and has five runways. The services here keeps improving day by day

IAH is not recycling bottles put into the recycling bins. While I was in the airport parking lot at terminal C, I saw one of their maintenance crew poor all the bottles from the recycle bin by the elevator into the landfill bin, then take it in one bag onto his cart to be disposed of. Really disappointing to think the recycle bins are just for show, to make it look like IAH is environmentally conscience when in reality they are full of you know what, and just putting it into landfill.

Passport control is the slowest I've ever encountered. Downright rude, power tripping, incompentent employees. Unreal. We had a two hour layover and barely made our flight. I am never flying through here again.

The airport is very good, although there are problems just like any airport, although these I think are worth pointing out.

1. SOME Restrooms are dirty. I flew in on a Sunday night which may explain why the restrooms are the way they were, but I don't think in two days they could have gotten that dirty. Piles of discarded magazines lay everywhere. The floors of ALL the stalls were covered in used toilet paper. Hopefully by now this was fixed. The cleanest restrooms were the ones in the United terminal.

2. Poor Roads. A few of the roads around the airport are rough and bumpy and full of potholes. I believe they are fixing this now so it shouldn't be a problem for long.

Overall it's not a bad airport compared to LaGuardia, or Cleveland, but for America's 3rd largest city I think it can do better.

My mother need assistance with a wheelchair transportation to change planes and the young lady that transporter her was very rude, she was pushing and bumping all the people around and almost dropping her out from the wheelchair. My mother has a very delicate osteoporosis and this service jeopardy her health. I used to trust on the service airport offers to costumers with disabilities that need assistance., but after this experience I am very disappointed. You need to do a better train your employees in this matter.

TSA should check its workers, while 1 woman was handling 1 carrousel to scan hand bags at the security checkpoint, there were 2 men handling another.
Tle waiting line could have been shorter if these 2 men were handling 1 carrousel each.

Terribly slow lines at the US customs there were people in line including us who missed our flights because of the long line. One man asked to jump ahead in the line because he was missing his flight. The attendant told him his only option is to fake a medical emergency so that the paramedics could get him to the front of the line. He refused and said that is ridiculous. He missed his flight. And we did too. More officers on duty would be helpful to speed up the process.

Airport is clean, busy and big. Just arrived from a Southwest Flight from San Antonio that arrived on Gate 27 and had a transfer flight to Alburque, NM leaving from Gate 1. Which Gate 1 is on the other side!!!

Arrived at 9:02 am with onboarding happening at 9:10. We made it flying through the airport at 9:18 while boarding was taking place.

So be ready to run in some of those close interconnecting flights!!!

This airport completely lacks the human touch, esp the Delta (A) and United (C) terminals. Delta lacks any assistance or even notice boards that explains how the whole airport works. And they have absolutely no-one around. United, after I finally found it, is plagued with iPADS on every available desk and screwed down chairs and stools. Even the bar is cluttered with these things. They make it impossible for the bartenders and waitresses and travellers to have any normal communication. When travelling far from home normal human contact is important as it takes down the stress level and helps immensely. I actually saw very few customers buying anything via the iPads, assuming anyone could get them to work. Cold, inefficient and lacking any semblance of friendliness or normal business vibe. Technology gone wrong.

My concerns are the lost/delayed baggage. They kept on telling us that we only need to call the Air China. We want an update for the delayed/lost baggage. The 2 baggage were left in China. So I want an update. Whever I made a phone call only the answering machine who answer and will tell me to leave your name and phone number. They even told us that they will call us back but you will now here from them. I hope someone will help me with my concern.

Customer service and customs throughout all of our interactions at George Bush were sub par to say the least. Leave your favorite band shirts and guitar at home or I can almost guarantee you will end up in extra screening and staff begging you to tell them where the drugs are . Nasty little tablets are stashed all about this airport for a breeding ground of international diseases to thrive. The most compitent staff I came across was in terminal C at the Subway, fortunately, someone knew how to one of the many jobs available at this airport. Id advise spending any extra money you can to avoid this rude, and filthy airport.

My nephew just returned from overseas and will be stationed in the states. I love Bush airport, but it's an hour drive for me and you are able to wait, unlike Hobby where you have to circle around until they come out of the terminal. Happy he is back home!!!

It feels like Texas! It is very large. The airport food is overpriced, to be expected. They have a lot of shopping to do and a ton of food if you have some time to kill. I was able to walk around for probably two hours and did not get bored. I overall had a good experience in Houston.

The subway is closed and they have blocked off the underground walkway to terminal C, there is no signage posted to tell you this so if you walk you have to walk all the way back afterward then wait an hour for a shuttle with room.

If you are going to close stuff, at least have the courtesy to label things properly.

4 stars because all the staff were super helpful as i passed through a variety of checkpoints. Where IAH (and all other airports for that matter) lost the 5th star is because when i am between flights, after having my ears exposed to cabin pressurization and depressurization, gates B C D E G P T V & Z all sound alike. More than once in this trip, when i was directed to one of these gates by helpful staff, i ended up at a similar sounding gate more than 1/2 a mile from the actual gate i was supposed to be at. This little communication hazard could mean the difference between making or missing a flight, or worse. I propose that all airport employees be instructed to include the phonetic name for each gate when communicating with passengers. For example, refer to gate "B-bravo-11"; "C-charlie-21": "D-delta-9"; or "E-echo-13 (1-3)" when providing directions verbally both face to face and over the public address system. Doing so will result in fewer passengers missing flights and running through airports.

I would have thought that the Cancun Airport would...

I would have thought that the Cancun Airport would be the most terrible airport experience possible. But Bush Intercontinental Airport has taken the cake.

First, some background on the Cancun Airport. There are four different terminals, Each of which is a ways apart. Each of which receives international flights. When you get off your flight, you have to go through immigration, then customs, then talk to the rental car agencies or take care of whatever else you need, then leave the secured area to go outside. There is no way to get from one terminal to another, without leaving the security area. As a result, if you need to meet somebody at another terminal, and you go over to that terminal, then there is no way to get back into the security area. And they have people with big guns to try to discourage you from trying to do so. Is remarkably unfriendly.

But you can still shop for things and handle things like a god damned adult.

That said, at the Bush Intercontinental Airport, they decided to get rid of almost all of the seats at each gate and replace them with fancy kiosks. This means that there is a screen staring at you all the time, trying to encourage you to eat or shop. Also, you have to buy almost all of your food at this kiosk. There are a couple of fast food places that will still serve you directly, but those are few and far between. At any of the other restaurants, they are not able to actually talk to you directly. I asked them if there was any way I could just order from a human, and they said no. Instead, you have to sit at a seat where a screen is advertising at you constantly. Also, your chair is bolted to the ground. There is no way to move around for comfort. You have to sit the way that they intend for you to sit. To make it even worse, the seeding takes up far more space than the traditional Airport seating. So all there usually isn't that much room for everyone, now at least half the people have to be standing around waiting for the plane. Is a nightmare.

Tablets everywhere! Traditional sit-down food service has been replaced by tablets. Tablets while you wait to charge your phone, tablets to take your drink order. Pretty soon you ll just go through security by sticking your face in a tablet. I love technology but this is a really lousy application. I found one restaurant that hasn t been replaced by lifeless computers: check out Ruby s right after terminal C security.

Not sure if it was because of renovations but the duty free shop was pretty much bare and some of the toilets were out of service. There was only one restaurant, which was ok but not amazing and a souvenir and sweet shop, where the service was terribly slow and they only had tiny carrier bags without handles, which are useless if you only have hand luggage with you. Couldn't get out of their quick enough - glad my flight was only delayed half an hour but it was probably fortunate that it was, given how long I had to wait to pay in the shop!

Excellent food choices, no one was rude, the place was pretty clean and none of the flights were overbooked. There s just one thing that nags me. It s that we were flying back from Mexico and TSA threw away the bottle of alcohol that my parents paid for! A waste of pesos! But I understand that you can t have that stuff in flights. We had to go thorugh security again because Houston was not our final destination and we were taking 2 flights.

Plenty to eat at in this airport. The facility is well maintained and perfectly clean. One of the cleanest airports I ve travelled to. It s also quite easy to navigate in. If you re coming to HTX you will be surprised to see that as big as it is, it s quite easy to get around and doesn t take forever to get from point a to point b.

Staff and crew at this airport seem friendly and courteous. We were also able to find some comfortable areas in the airport to relax as we waited for our delayed plane.

All in all we recommend this airport to travellers
