They were very supportive in an hour where I needed it!

Amazing new facility! I did a volunteer training today and cannot wait to get started.

Forget about the safety of the animals, not that that isn't important too, but the safety and well-being of the volunteers and staff alike are also a concern. The goings on at HSTB under the "direction" of Sherry silk are of great concern.... As a matter of fact, the workers are not even safe from their own co-workers or community service workers, with some of them having charges of homicide in their backgrounds....what?!?! Keep reading... Workers have been sexually harrassed and even physically threatened by community service people, and when management was told they refused to call the police or probation officer so as to protect their image! Then the community service workers involved would just be put in another location to work, without letting any one know what occurred!! The director herself has a criminal record, for fraud, that she tries to keep hidden! I know, right!?
I didn't believe it either at first, and even thought it was a case of sour grapes! But then I looked it up and was stunned!! Makes you really wonder about the so called robbery during the hurricane, especially after I heard about another worker, a fella, whole stole unknown thousands of dollars in Busch Gardens passes from adoptions and was reselling them to the public.... All office personnel confirmed this, including the 2 who were arrested and fired for embezzlement from their last jobs! There must have been a hefty payout to BG due to this, as no news reports.... Is that where the budget went for 2015/2016?? I heard employees were told that there was barely enough $ in the bank to keeping paying them every week.....
At least 1/2 the donations of not just food but toys, treats and even $ or gift cards donated go home with the workers regularly! I saw one girl so brazen that she was putting 15 40lb bags of high end donated dog food into her suv under the guise of "possibly" fostering a puppy in the future!
It is amazing how Sherry Silk and Pam Backer go on TV stating they care so much, but they don't even flinch when they find out employees that were fostering pets for HSTB abused them, causing some to die...

I was just wondering if HSTB still kept puppies and dogs on the back patios in this heat with no air conditioning? Are they still giving them plastic bottles of ice water, the kind that the puppies love to chew and choke on?!

Horrible experience here. It's not just one occasion either, been here multiple times and always have a ridiculous wait. They make the problem worse. Performed many unnecessary surgeries on my dog and it's still "inconclusive." My 10 week old kitten was neutered here and it was grossly infected. They blamed the cat for the infection that was clearly acquired in their care. You get what you pay for and the humane society is NOT worth it. Please for your pet's sake, go somewhere else.

This facility is a blessing because of reasonable pricing and caring staff. The wait with or without an appointment is the only downside.

Got my eight-year-old a puppy there what they do is care for dogs and make sure they're safe she was already spaded in microchipped and she was just a little over two months

The staff was friendly and helpful! The facility was clean and conducive to meeting new family members. We a great 2 yr-old pitbull mix!

Such a wonderful and caring place for the animals. I had to surrender my cat because I was moving and didn t have space for her. When I brought her here, they told me that she was overweight for her age, but would get her eating on track. I felt assured that my cat would be in good hands. Three months after the surrender, I started missing her and was hoping she wasn t in the shelter still. I called to find out her whereabouts and was told she was adopted a week after she was brought in. I was relieved. Thank you for finding my cat a new loving home!

Great place to find your forecer friend. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Took my dog to the animal hospital there for a procedure and they helped me understand everything that was needed and were very friendly with him. He came home feeling great with all his necessary medicine.

Great place to get your animal treated,however, I wish they would have some sort of sign in sheet on their door for people who arrive before they open. Seems unfair to arrive early on a Sunday only to have people jump in front of you when they open the doors.

Very disorganized shelter and if your interested in a pup they say you have to bring card upfront and if someone took a card already and you ask them about the pet they say there is waiting and they don t put you on a waiting list and give updates they just tell you to wait and have you standing around at least they should let you know the person is adopting the dog or cat. You look online and says submit application for a dog or cat your interested in and when you go in personally for update they tell you they don t take online applications so why bother to offer and get your information. Disappointed!

Several rude employees refused to even acknowlege my presence. I placed my application on the desk in front of the female employee and watched at least five of them pick it up look at it and place it back down. They were extremely courtous to the next three white women that came in. After waiting about 25 minutes one woman finally called my name-I proceeded to advise of the terrible service I'd recieved and she just blew me off. I really wanted to add a new puppy to our household, however I refuse to patronize a place that could care less about my existence.

They are great people but take forever to set you up with adoption of a pet I was there for over 2 hours adopting a cat

Hello friends yes I love all animals I give this place a 5 star rating because they do love and care for the animals I go in there to visit and hold the beautiful animals there it's a very nice place to go to visit a lonely animal who need a good loving home visit the humane society today.

They performed heartworm treatment on my dog. They have very fair prices when it comes to treatment.. the staff are efficient as can be and the building is new and nice looking. It only gets a 3 star because of how disgusting the peoople that go there are. And they are always overcrowded. Morning drop off takes a while and afternoon pickup can take even longer when they forget to call you because they are unorganized....

I would recommend going to a normal vet for anything inexpensive (the prices aren't that different) but if your animal has a major surgery or something of that nature this would be a great place to take them.

They make being a pet owner a little more affordable. Staff that I've dealt with have always been nice. A few have gone the extra mile That's always a plus!!

Great place to volunteer at if you like taking care of animals. Plus, you get service hours.

Sadly we had to take our 16 year old cat who was suffering from an illness to be euthanized. The Intake staff were very professional and caring. "Silly" was treated with kindness and respect.

Fortunately they were able to re-home my family loved pets because I had to move after 5 years due to Medical emergency

I know this is the place I want to adopt my first dog from some day! The staff are always so friendly and the animals are well taken care of!

We always love volunteering! We get to walk the dogs and have fun with them!

wonderful staff, great new for friends. no wasteful spending, the money goes to the animals' welfare. I volunteered for years and could see that. hopefully I will be back to volunteering soon

Great Vet and staff. Brought my dogs here to get their annual checkup and vaccines. Was pleased with the service. I also had my pups groomed here and they did a nice job. I recommend this place to anyone looking for reasonably priced services for their pets.

It was very clean and organized. Animals well cared for.

Filled out a online application to adopt a pet and when I called it they said the application isn t really doing anything. I wonder why they still have it up on their website and are misleading people. Very disappointed with this place!

Great place nice people for a sad time when you have a sick dog

This visit was even better. Got my puppy done and do not have to worry about anything till rabies shot next year.

There are a lot more cats than dogs here, but also hamsters and rabbits. Its a great place to play with animals that need a home.

Thus place is amazing it's clean and they take great care of the animals

I love dogs so much but it s just so sad to know that these people are putting dogs down because they have heartworm which is very curable but yet still do it. I use to volunteer there and was very sad to find that out.

I came here to get a cat fixed years ago and just came back a couple weeks ago to (sadly) euthanize a 16 year old stray cat that I took in 3+ years ago. Empathetic and sweet staff that helped me through a tough time and helped a sweet old street cat cross the rainbow bridge

Nice clean efficient place, not like some of there sibling places. Finding it and parking is confusing, overall a good place to go for a pet.

I bring my two dogs here for all their needs and are treated by the most wonderful staff. You may have to wait a while for your turn but it's well worth it.

I went to adopt a small breed female young dog or puppy but I went home empty. Really sad.

Very sensitive people, I had to have my Chow of 12 year's put down they let me pet her and love her while she went to sleep.they also take animals and place in good homes.they we're very humane people.

My review is for the medical section. The entire staff I dealt with from start to finish were all superb. I ve felt more at ease with them than any vets office I ve been too.

Brought my little guy in to get neutered. First night and he is very cheery.

Very cost effective as well.

I wish I could give them more than 5 stars. Highly recommended.

We've brought our cat here twice. Once with no appointment and waited 4 hours which is understandable. However the second time we made an appointment for 1pm. We showed up at 12:30 and waited 2 hours and are still waiting as I type. This is a great place with great prices and quality care but the wait time is ridiculous. Should not have to wait 2+ hours for an appointment.

They are awesome to provide the level of care that they do. I only wish I was physically able to volunteer for them.

I now a lot of people complaint about this place bit they are not concious that this place needs community support. Yes sometimes the waits are long and the service may not come up to be the best but in my personal experience I think they do a great job taking care of out furry family and still manage to keep low prices as and still be in businesses. I am personally thankful for this entity my Little Wolf is happy and healthy thanks to them. Institutions like this are the ones that should receive a little extra help from our govt.

Everybody there at the Humane Society. Work with you They do really care about the animals. It's very clean. The dogs are taken care of and I bought everything at the store just to generate money to help with the animals And this is Cooper the dog that I picked out last Sunday.

Very nice and clean. The workers were friendly. But they should have a better system for those who are trying to adopt. I give them a five star because the animals are well kept.

I adopted 2 kitties,marla and melinda. Not only were the staff very helpful and friendly, huge building and the cleanest I have ever seen! Adopt before buying expensive pet....they will love you even more

My kitten swallowed a rubber band and needed a $3000 surgery. I couldn't afford it but wanted to save her life, so I opted to surrender her to the Humane Society so they would do the surgery. Turns out if an animal enters their care needing surgery, they just euthanize them instead of helping them. Real humane.

I made the difficult decision to put my cat down and was very stressed and worried about finding the right place where I wasn't going to be rushed, I could be there with her, and be treated with respect. I was hesitant to go to a humane society at first because I was worried that they wouldn't let me be with her. That was not the case at all. I will forever be thankful to the wonderful staff at THS. They were very kind and understanding and made the whole experience a lot easier. They were comforting to me as well as my baby girl. They let me stay as long as I wanted afterwards and that meant a lot. Thank you so much to the amazing staff. RIP Princess.

Went on a sunday and witnessed girl scouts reading books to shelter dogs and playing with cats. Best feeling looking at them.

A bit depressing while also grateful seeing many dogs are well taken care of here. You need to commit and come to take an animal home as it's a fast process by the time you look at all the dogs someone has already taken the one you want or was wondering about

We love it so much we started volunteering there. It is always a joy to see a fur baby find a forever family and the HSTB works hard to take care of them until they do.

Really great staff. Was extremely helpful in deterrence from taking a particular dog that would have been a bad fit. So, that's what really showed up in my mind to me as the difference in this particular location. Albeit it happened after we left and got an animal from another location. Still, it's the fact that they cared so much about matching the dog with the people that I'm very impressed!

I love fostering for HSTB! They are great, a little busy, but they are located in Tampa. I want to adopt every single kitty I bring home! Staff is really helpful and quick to answer questions.

Relatively fast, from walking in, to walking out with my new addition to the family

New building and fresh clean facilities. So happy there are good people to help rehome these sweet animals.
