We had our hotel block and rehearsal dinner / welcome drink at The Wick for our Basilica Hudson Wedding. The hotel is brand new and beautiful. It really has a boutique feeling with all the amenities of a larger hotel. They have a beautiful event space with an amazing sunset view that we used for our Rehearsal dinner and a large atrium bar where we had a welcome drink for everyone staying in town the night before the wedding. The food and drinks were all great and it was great to be able to have everything in the same place.
Everything was wonderful and Kate and Taylor were very helpful and genuinely wanted everything to be a success. They went above and beyond to make everything gorgeous and fun. The entire staff was amazing and really cared about helping us with whatever we needed. Our guests were pretty well behaved but the hotel seemed really upbeat about our group being there and were great about our guests being up late having a good time. We are lucky the wick opened in time for our wedding! Highly recommend for anyone getting married in Hudson to have an event there.

Nowhere on their site did it indicate that many of the rooms are in the basement with no windows... I don't expect to have to ask if there are windows when I book a 4 star Marriott hotel. We were here on a holiday weekend, so by the time we checked in there were no options to switch rooms. Unacceptable. If you must stay here, avoid rooms on the "1st floor," which is actually the basement.

I am in awe that this corporate hotel passes as a Tribute Portfolio. I have stayed two times now (with the horror I witnessed upon my last visit will conclude my stays at The Wick, I will allow SPG to handle any legalities, but all I will say is... Please choose one of the charming hotels in Hudson, NY that are owned by local folks, managed by local folks, and have no place in the corporate world. If you are looking for a room with no personality, no views, no staff, no story to tell - THIS IS YOUR PLACE. The turnover in staff is atrocious, I feel the need to mention this as the only reason I returned for a second visit was due to the kind and authentic experience I had with a pair of managers. Come to find out from the subpar staff used to replace them, after all original management QUIT. Save yourself the headache and unload your bags at Rivertown Lodge or WM Farmer.

i spent thirty days at this property. the atmosphere is perfect for feeling at home and welcome. reception staff is attentive and restaurant crew is always accommodating. amongst the most professional amongst the staff is Jacob. he made every day special and truly knew how to balance chores and customers. after parking and entering the property i looked forward to a cappuccino or draft, because he wore both hats so well. december 2018 will always be memorable for the stories and smiles everyday brought at The Wick. about the menu, the drafts are the area s best, there s good plates that d please any weary traveler, breakfast was the best and warmest time to see folks gathering, the valets are always on point, managers keep exceeding expectations and the bartenders/baristas will keep you coming back. special request... like the drafts please consider nearby farm food and list the source to incorporate local pride, and it d be wonderful to have a grilled cheese with tomato soup back on it. (forgive me if it returned) lastly, the rooms...exquisite spacious accommodations and very clean. impressive settings plus authentic decor. (i ve posted before on tripadvisor for a brief layover)

What a great re-imagining of an old factory. The hotel is low key, with just enough amenities and staff to keep you comfortable but few enough that it's got a peaceful, intimate feel. The faux marble in the bathrooms is easy to overlook for $100/night, huge windows, and otherwise extremely tasteful and modern rooms. We loved it.

Staff was not trained and didn't care
I was at the Wick over Memorial Day 2019. The property is good and very clean. However, the service the entire weekend was poor. The coffee and hot water in the reception was out most times of the day. We tried to call the kitchen, reception and house-keeping to get plates, salt and pepper brought to the room. No one answered the phones in the kitchen. The reception phone was busy for 30 minutes. I finally went up to make the request in person and the staff at the desk told me there was nothing wrong with their phone. I called up for something else a few minutes later and the phone was busy. Finally, I was mistakenly charged $145. The receipt didn't reflect the charge. I only noticed it after I looked at my credit card transactions. The staff is friendly, but don't seem to care about the guests at the hotel.

The hotel is very nice. I agree that the surrounding area had me concerned, but nothing bad happened during my stay. The bed was very comfortable. The onion soup was superb. The staff was great and I had no problems while there. I would recommend it.

What a poorly executed hotel experience. While the hotel is beautiful, it is completely non-functional. Our room was below the lobby, and there is no sound insulation. From 6:30 am on, as they prepare for breakfast service, it sounded like we were underneath a bowling lane. I have honestly never encountered anything quite like it. I am a deep sleeper, and my husband and I were both unable to sleep through it. So disappointed, as the room was huge and clean, and we were so excited for a good night's sleep after a wedding. If you find that your room is on the first floor, which is actually the basement, ask to be moved. You might as well try sleeping in Grand Central Station.

One of my favorite SPG hotels in the world. Only open for a few weeks when I first stayed there. This staff were extremely helpful. The food was excellent. The rooms were spacious and extremely clean.

Nice hotel with easy walk to warren street. ask to be on the quiet side of the hotel if you are a light sleeper or you will hear the train whistle all night long! Staff was very friendly and acommodating. Rooms were clean and the food was good.

Alas, a bit overpriced given the experience. Convenient to the train station, albeit you're a couple blocks south of the main drag Warren and way,way below 3rd St where the action really begins. That said, the nicest non-airbnb or non-b&b experience I found. Room was tidy and minimally furnished.

We were in town for a wedding. The bride and groom reserved a block of rooms. The morning after, 3 of us went to breakfast. It was around 11am. They were out of bacon and orange juice. I was a bit surprised. The kitchen staff should have known to order enough food to serve the guests. Other than that, we had a great stay. Rooms are well appointed and spotless. The beds are comfortable. The front desk staff and bellboys are very helpful and courteous. I would have given 5 stars, but for the breakfast situation.
