Great site to go see with amazing history of silicon valley!
Great site to go see with amazing history of silicon valley!
The place that started it all. The mecca of silicon valley. Must see.
It's a simple house but its history is what matters.
The birthplace of Silicon Valley in a residential area. Since there was no parking, I took a picture and left immediately.
Where it all started ...
Very cool place. Although there is not much to see except a house with a garage and a plaque in front of it.
Here you can be very inspired and see where the technology giant HP actually comes from.
I was privileged to be invited inside the garage. Definitely a high point in my life as computer/tech geek.
Historical place, a must to understand the history of technology. Here it all started in Silicon Valley
What a piece of history! Quiet, unassuming neighborhood and no crowds!
Worth a visit to take a picture and to see where the Silicon Valley was started
This is a private residence Not Open to the public please be aware
Reading a little about the history of the place and with the right respect, since it is an inhabited house, it is worth seeing it
Hewlett and Packard are the first ones to start a business. This is where Silicon Valley is founded. If you go, it's just a house in the neighborhood. Not even a few people go by. There is plenty of time, or the univ. Across from Stanford. If you have a meal plan at or near ave. If you visit with the intention that children will be inspired, you will need to study the history of Hewlett-Packard company beforehand. There is no inspiration from the parking lot attached to the house.
Beautiful neighborhood with many cute houses around. This green painted house, however was allegedly the "birthplace of Silicon Valley". Two Stanford students built the first audio oscillator at the one-car garage behind the house, and later founded HP. It was a great experience to feel the spirit of entrepreneurship.
Only the historical value for which we have something to do with Computer Science.
Its the garage where Hewlitt-Packard was started! Nothing to do here but look at it
I really liked it, even though I couldn't enter the date of the visit.
A beautiful experience
I personally love technology and that is why I went to its history. In the house there is a plaque on the sidewalk where he explains the importance of it. It is a quiet neighborhood with easy access.
Birthplace of Silicon Valley. Pretty inconspicuous house with garage, but a cool experience.
It's a private property now so you can't see from inside.
This is where IT started, it can be seen as almost holy ground for anybody who has a job in it.
Nice residential area. The house itself is decorated in a typical American style. Impressive that everything started in this garage. If you have the story of Stanford University knows the visit is rounded.
You can't get in, but historical enough to visit. Usually you are all alone. Beautiful neighborhood
The crazy people who say they are going to change the world are the ones who really do it.
Feel wired to visit a place with ppl living in it. Privacy ?
Where Palo Alto was born. You can't go to Palo Alto without a photo in the old (restored) HP garage
Cool site to briefly educate on the history of Silicion Valley. However all you can do is look at the garage. You can't go in and look inside to perhaps learn more. You basically take a picture, read the plaque, and then drive away.
Do not plan your trip just around seeing this place. It's ok to visit this garage if you have extra time during your trip. Nothing great about it.
You only see the house on the outside and the commemorative plaque ..
It was a really good time to have dinner in such an historic location. Great to hear all the details if the story and see the actual spots where it happened.
One of the origins of Silicon Valley
There is also a museum, but it is often by reservation only that you can not get it
Apart from a historically significant place..there is not much to see here... just one corner board telling about the history. ..but if its nice sunny afternoon in fall season, why not take a stroll and get a tick in the box
Drove by after hours so we didn't get a chance to look inside but still pretty cool.
So much fun! It's a well-done stop with a historical marker and great open view of the garage. Definitely recommend stopping here.
It s gated. We could only see from outside of the house.
A garage founded by Hewred Packard. The birthplace of Silicon Valley. It is still used as a private home.
Idyllic garage, must have been very inspiring in 1938 anyway.
This place is simply impossible to get around if you have any relation to IT
Would like to have been able to walk down driveway to the garage.
This is a historic site, but it is privately owned and not open to the public. You can see the garage at the end of a private driveway, but don't trespass from the public sidewalk. There is a plaque on the private house in front of the garage, but it is far enough from the sidewalk to be difficult to read. I see tour busses drive by here all the time, but there is really nothing to do other than for the tour guide to tell stories about what used to happen in the garage.
Only for ardent fans. Nothing to look at besides the plaque and the garage. But you can only view it from the footpath. (Sidewalk :-)
You can't really go in. But theres a small board marking the place that resulted in the creation of the silicon valley.
Awesome piece of history. It's closed, but has a powerful aura on it
Where it all began! If you have the support from #StartSe it's even better!
A historic experience for those who like technology.
Building which feels the history. The surroundings are also calm and fun to imagine in various ways.
Apparently people live in the house, they got suspicions people visiting landmark maybe they not used to having tourists visit the garage. And looks like I was the only one during the whole day
It's just a plaque outside a house, but it's nice to be there and know that everything started there. It would also not go unless I was in the area already stopping at other similar places. At night it is illuminated so you can go at any time.
Really not much there (it's a nice street though). And it's off the list now
It's a garage. Every start-up since has needed a garage as an essential element to its founding myth.
Historic site. It is regarded as the birthplace of Silicon Valley.
It is a good idea to go after investigating Hewlett-Packard's history.
