Excellent place probably the best hotel in Paramaribo

Staff very friendly.
Nice rooms
A lot of noise from music across the hotel, continues until 4 o'clock at night.

I went to the restaurant. Pleasant spot, food good and prices ok. After lunch we went to visit the gardens. Great Atmosphere.

The name says it all as we were treated royally. A great weekend getaway. Had a great time and money well spent. Will do this again at our honeymoon phase.

I booked a Christmas lunch for 6 people for 40 per person ... two days before I was there to pay for everything so that my reservation was guaranteed.
What struck me is that the receptionist was not even aware of the arrangement and that everything still had to be done in the computer system to complete the payment .. at that moment I already had doubts .. the enthusiasm for this today so called Royal Lunch was very poor, with an attendance of about 7 people.
And what I feared was true, the food was special, special, very bad, little variety and flies were flying everywhere ... I can eat cucumber and slices of tomatoes everywhere, slices of Christmas bread are in the supermarket and over cooked pasta is particularly disgusting .. we eat with long teeth and I explicitly ask the waitresses if the chosen drinks are included and they agree .. at the end of this terrible lunch we are presented with a bill of 875 SRD because the drinks would not be included. .
What a horrible deception Torarica has tumbled into ...!
After intensive negotiation, because we were in our right, they canceled the drinks bill and we left with a very dissatisfied feeling and a half empty stomach .. I would have rated Royal Torarica higher, because as the name suggests, you expect generous service for the generous prices they charge .. Outrageous and extremely bad Royal Christmas Lunch !!

Beautiful hotel and nice room with comfortable bed and pillows. Due to covid, I cant be able to go anywhere beside locked my self in a room

just another 2 wonderful weeks in Suriname, partly with a very pleasant stay in Royal Torarica: friendly and attentive service. Cons: why not a 0% malt beer or something delicious alcohol-free. The fact that we are woken up in the middle of the night because Mrs Angelique is standing at the reception is less successful. Perhaps Mrs. name and room number were forgotten ?? !!!

Wij hadden enkele weken terug een kamer geboekt in Royal Torarica, de nacht ging niet zo goed. De volgende dag kwam Xiomara tijdens het ontbijt naar ons toe om het te bespreken, als goedmakertje mochten wij een nachtje gratis komen logeren. Ons verblijf hebben wij als zeer aangenaam ervaren, het bed was mooi versierd met rose petals en een hart, uitzicht van de kamer was op de Suriname rivier, breathtaking! Wij willen Xiomara en het team van Royal Torarica hartelijk danken voor hun inzet om het tot een plezierige verblijf voor ons te maken

We were quarantined there for 14 days. The staff was great and the food good.

I'm not sure why "Royal" and higher price. It is good, nice business centre working place but relation to what you get for the price could be better.

The Royal Torarica is the most plush option from the Torarica brand, the leading hotel chain of Paramaribo. The other options are the Eco Torarica, where Eco stand for Economy, not Ecology; and the Torarica Resort. All located close together in the centre of Paramaribo. We were very courteously received by the front desk staff of the Royal when we were on our way to a tour to Dan Paati - we actually had to be at the Torarica Resort, which was just next door.

The Best Hotel in Suriname! The location of the hotel is at the center of some amazing restaurants and to do activities. The hotel itself has renovated rooms with all the electricity outlets required for your electronic devices. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is amazing. The staffs here are friendly.

Breakfast and rooms were good were good until the last day. My stay was Dec. 27, 2016 through Jan. 21, 2017. At check-out I had forgotten a bag in the room. Upon arrival of my room, the cleaning lady was taking my valuables out of the bag and sorting them. The acting manager did not act decisively. With a disappointing response that this should not happen. Furthermore at checkout the pin machine could not debit the amount from my credit card in 1 time and this had to be done in 5 times. For such a name hotel, these are points that should not occur and I warn others when booking this hotel. Watch out for stealing cleaners and badly functioning pins.
Furthermore, the hotel meets you with no other option, not even after a stay of almost 1 month.

The Royal is a nice refuge from the rain and dust of the city. I was there is June, so it was wet. The back yard is quite nice, with gardens, a pool, and an outdoor grill/bar area. Inside is kept up to colonial standards. Everything is constantly being mopped and dusted. I did find that the weather, particularly the humidity, plays against the hotel. They seem to be always repairing something. There was an odor of mold in some of the back corridors, but I think that is unavoidable in this climate.
Dinner on the veranda was excellent. The steak was perfectly prepared.
The rooms I had were very clean and properly air conditioned. I had a decent view of the river.
There is no casino on site - and no ATM either!, but just down at the Torarica Casino are both.
If I come back to Paramaribo I will stay at the Royal Torarica again.

You pay for the location and name. It is ok but the price quality ratio is not right.

A budget hotel well in the heart of town with proximity to downtown. Rooms are a bit damp but the backyard of the hotel has excellent green spread and a touch of nature in which the swimming pool, sitting area, open air restaurants are located. A good retreat.

With the name ROYAL torarica it is expected that offers are at the same level. Regarding the Christmas lunch arrangement, this turned out to be a huge disappointment. Very little choice in food. A lot of flies. But after we ate it turned out that drinks would not be included in the package. While we had asked 2 different waitresses. The communication between staff and management is totally absent. Also communicating to the customer when a reservation is made is very bad. We were never told that drinks were not included in the package. Total misleing.The food also disappointed very much. Soft-boiled pasta. After a conversation with the manager, we were able to leave after much talking. But we will never come here again. When I pay an arrangement of 40 in the Netherlands I can eat and drink UNLIMITED. Alcohol of course not included. Toratica must be ashamed of itself and very quickly remove the term Royal from the facade. Now there are 5 men here who feel badly cheated. A big shame
