The food and view were definitely the outstanding highlights! Would recommended the rooms with ocean view as the sunset is amazing, also try the lamb chops & dalamadies. Our stay was lovely, the room was comfortable and the staff & owner were fantastic. Many thanks. (Please note. We travelled in the off season (November) and all facilities were open and the hotel was busy which was nice)

Great hotel as a stopover station close to the airport, friendly staff in bar / restaurant, good food, nice swimming pool, good mattresses, fantastic view of Chania, very quiet location. Free shuttle to and from the city, so also great for a city trip.

Don't be frightened by the 3 stars of the hotel and the low price is well worth it. spotlessly clean and I had a plate with the bed mat ... partial foam.

This should be at least a 4 star hotel not a 3 star. This is the best hotel I've stayed in. The breakfast selection is massive, the pool is large, rooms are large with a nice bathroom and balcony. Free mini bus to and from the city centre. The restaurants prices are fair and the food is of good quality.

Very good view but no co-operation of the Hotel Directorate

When I visit favorite thing to do is get a coffee and a piece of chocolate cake every day.

Unbelievably tasty and quality food, great on a plate, reasonable hotel prices, comfortable dining tables and of course magical views!

Great food, great service and great views. You see all of Chania

We had an excellent stay at this hotel! The rooms were very nice and the pool was gorgeous as was the view the breakfast was amazing and you had lots to choose from! It was just a quiet and relaxing hotel. The only thing that bothered me a little was that some of the tables in the restaurant on the top floor had some very sharp edges on which I cut myself two times. Maybe it was just me being clumsy, but they were very sharp. The rest was perfect!

Best place ever. Just the smell of the pines is therapy in it's self. The breakfast is so ample you'd need a week to try everything !. Rooms are big and its so quiet. I think they should mark how deep the pool is cause it's not obvious.

Perfect reception, the receptionists of July 2019 are very sympathetic unlike the team of July 2018.
The rooms are nice with a beautiful terrace and views of Chania, a very large pool very well maintained and a very varied breakfast buffet.
Everything is perfect, we come back every year and we are never disappointed.

The food was amazing as usual. The consistency of well prepared and served food, along with the gorgeous view of Chania is why this is in my top 3 places to eat in Crete.

This is literally the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I have called mutiple times, over mutiple days, about my air conditioning not working. No one has came yet. The bartenders are the rudest people I have ever met in my life. It is so hard to get room service. I have been calling the front desk for the last hour to try and get a taxi and nobody has answered the phone yet. I would never stay here again, or recommend this place to anyone.

Very clean hotel, good breakfast, good staff, EXCELLENT VIEW

I was visiting friends in their hotel and we sat down in the hotel's bar. The drinks and the personnel were really great. This bar/restaurant is on the side facing Rethymno's city center and is completely surrounded by a glass front - so the view is astonishing. I really recommend dropping by if you're in this town, at least for a coffee, if not more.

Stayed one night go catch an early flight. Was greeted by a condescending and seemingly pompous receptionist. Great view of Chania. Big selection for breakfast, pretty tasty (unlimited fresh Orange Juice!). Also gave us a takeaway packet for breakfast. Seems more expensive than its worth as a whole. But a nice experience as a whole.

The view is impressive and the food is delicious. Slightly higher than the average for the area, but still cheaper than a comparable restaurant in the states.

Hammer Hotel !!! Fantastic view over Chania, extremely friendly and attentive staff, a fabulously good restaurant. Only recommended. That's why the second time. The sunsets with city and sea views are breathtaking!

Beautiful location! Wonderful view! Honestly, it did not seem to me that the staff were particularly "nice".

Modern hotel Views from the restaurant impressive. But it has some negative pubes.
The poor soundproofing, you can hear the noises of the hall (not those of other rooms), reception staff dry, uncommunicative and not too willing, small bathroom, it was impossible to np collide with the door.

Exceptional! An incredible view of the bay, a swimming pool, terraces and a dream buffet. We want to come back

I went as an outside guest, to the hotel bar ... it has many things at good prices ... the view is "all the money" .... at some point I will go again to try his food because I have heard good words from acquaintances who have eaten there! The staff is very kind, the place shines with cleanliness!

Completisimo! A 3 * that seems over. Spacious rooms, food and buffet completisimo, unbeatable location (has transportation that goes down to the city) and kindness of the workers.

The Royal Sun is absolutely a treat. While I wouldn't recommend it for a family with small children, any other demographic should feel right at home. Unlike another reviewer, I found Christos to be unfailingly polite and extremely helpful. He really went the extra mile to accommodate requests, as did the rest of the staff. You can't top the view, of course, and the rooms are spotlessly clean. The linens are very soft and comfortable and the rooms are well-appointed. Breakfast was delicious and should meet a variety of norms, regardless of country. Definitely enjoy the fresh-squeezed orange juice! I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a low-key, graceful Greek vacation.
