Hotel Royal Sun Review

Room that smells of cold tobacco, impregnated furniture and curtains and when we asked for a complaint: we solve the bed with airwick product on the pillowcases ... and all this without gloves in period of covid 19.
The manager has a very bad liver and his responsibility for this problem is waived and claims to answer my problem with the toilet bomb.
As a result we decide to leave the premises and the establishment charges us with 50% of the reservation via booking.

My favorite choice in Chania. Situated in high szona, it allows a terrific scenery over the city. Good value for money ...

Negative points:
- Poorly soundproofed room (impossible to sleep the cleaning ladies speak shout laughs at 9am.
- I paid for a mountain view, I'll let you see the view I had .. (parking lot view) When I ask for an explanation, I am told, but that's it, seeing the mountain. Ah OK !
- 0 respect for sleep, we were called twice at midnight to find out if we had eaten in the evening in the hotel restaurant
- Breakfast without any interest.
Positive :

I put a star mostly for the fact that we were lied to about the offer. Please specify to the customer that they have a courtyard / parking view and not a mountain view. Otherwise the hotel still deserves 3 stars.

Modern structure. It deserves 4 stars. Cleanliness, kindness and top breakfast.

The staff could not have been more helpful, polite and friendly, especially Nikos, Roula, Christos, Maria, Harris, Sophia, Bridget, i,m sorry if i missed anyone. ! Nothing was too much trouble for them.
The food was wonderful.
The setting is perfect and the hotel is spotless.
Despite new regulations the staff made our stay perfect.
We will return.

I stayed 7 days on this Hotel. Great place with a good and reasonable price per night (off the season). The rooms are clean and cozy (but can be quite small though). In a hotel there is a gym, pool and SPA which is a great deal if you look at the room rate. There is a restaurant at the 3rd floor with a great view on the Chania and the sea! Breakfasts are very tasty, and the orange juice is freshly squeezed! The location is also very well. Not so far away you can find Lidl (if you need to make some shopping) and the Hotel have their own transport to the City centre for guests! You do not have to pay for it as it is included in the room price. The transport itself which is very convienient

Such a wonderful experience! I don't know why it is only rated 3 stars, I believe it should be at least 4-5! Rooms are modern, clean and spacious. Upgraded rooms offer spectacular views of Chania! Breakfast buffet is AMAZING!

A 10-minute walk from Chania's old harbor, the hotel has a large swimming pool and a top-floor restaurant with great views of the city and the sea. A shuttle bus provides easy access to city and come back. The rooms are very correct (balcony, air conditioning, mini fridge, safe, TV)

Best care anywhere! I literally have nothing bad to say about Royal Sun. Would 100% revisit again. Visited in off season, hotel was quiet, too cold and busy to visit the outdoor pool which I'm sure probably wasn't open anyways. Rooms were amazingly well made and presented. Food was excellent! Never had hospitality like that anywhere. There they treat you like a human being/family. No standard memorized robotic "how may we help you today sir?" type stuff. Again 100% revisit.

Amazing view, good rooms, and friendly staff. The hotel restaurant has great food that is priced very well. Their internet connection is good when they're not fully booked.

Wonderful place! Very friendly staff! Nice clean rooms. Shuttle provided back and forth to town. Not bad for the price at all!

Service at the restaurant was absolutely terrible. Waited 30 minutes for a waitress to bring a menu, then another 20 minutes for someone to take our order - after we asked twice if we could order.

Beautiful structure. Great view. Lovely pool. Generous buffet breakfast. Too bad for the slightly small room.
Free shuttle bus service available. Dinner ok, even if maybe a break in some typical restaurant in the center is there! Eye to the sun: don't mess around here! Clean room. 2 bottles of water per day in the room. Conditioned air. Tv. Open 24h. Helpful staff!

Where do i start with this amazing place, i have never ever been to a country and hotel with such polite and respectful people. The hotel has a fantastic service such as the shuttle bus every 30mins to town till 12 at night, the room we had was probably the best room in chania the sea and town view was ridiculously fantastic. The staff in the hotel was so helpful in every-way from guidance to service. Rooms are very clean and cleaned daily. Swimming pool very clean and good size. Location 10mins straight into town next to the old market hall. Restaurant food easily one of the best in Chania I recommend there pasta and meat dishes. Breakfast buffet in the morning is delicious with a great variety. Me and my girlfriend had an amazing time and will definitely visit again just to stay in the royal sun again. Thank you for everything you amazing people.

Hotel staff very friendly, both at reception and in the restaurant. The room very nice, neat and clean. A but it is the amount of mosquitoes that we do not know where, but they entered the room. However, at the reception they gave us an apartment to connect it to the light and kill them. The location very nice, although after a considerable cost. A nice pool and awesome breakfast.

Shocking view, great food but the poor staff does their best and runs up and down in panic due to overwork .. Let's hire a person so we don't feel bad asking for even one toothpick ...... From then on, everything nicely!!

This is much better than a 3 star hotel. Brilliant view, everything very clean, good food, best breakfast, modern rooms, free shuttle to the center of Chania. Ample parking space and excellent Wi-Fi.

This hotel is one of the best hotel I have seen in my life.
The pool was large with everything you need inside eg a medium pool, a small pond, deeper water ....
In the morning you could eat on the terrace to admire the panoramic view offered by this hotel

Only one night stay but it was brilliant. The room, view, pool, food, prices and the staff were all excellent. Should be rates 4 star at least.

Amazing view, as many times as I have been, is not accompanied by the tranquility needed to enjoy it. Good coffee, nice sandwiches served to go lazy. Nevertheless I recommend it for the beauty of the landscape

Amazing hotel with great view over the city! Spacious and very clean rooms, brilliant breakfast buffet. The bar-restaurant is operating until late and there s free shuttle to the city centre and back! Definitely recommend :)

Complex located on the heights of Chania and dominating the city.
A very calm and relaxing environment with a big swimming pool.
A very complete breakfast and rooms according to the descriptions.
Without any hesitation, I highly recommend this place !!

Incredible stay at this warm and charming hotel. Rooms were spotless, staff were always present and friendly, location is superb (10 min from old Chania), and the grounds are beautiful. Worth mentioning that the pool area is beautiful as well. Shuttle service to old Chania is a life saver, as you will not need to worry about the stress of driving/parking. Great restaurant/bar with an incredible view.

Lost in the heights of the city of Chania, this hotel does not seem, at first glance, exceptional.

Built on a mountainside, the architecture is strange and it is not easy to find one's way straight away.

Quickly, we turn our heads towards Chania and we discover a simply magical view. First, the swimming pool, surrounded by a parquet floor and some olive trees. By raising your head a little, a forest of olive trees ending in a general view of Chania to its port and its pretty lighthouse.
A little further, other towns and villages. Like a stranded ship, the island of Agios Theodoroi takes pride of place on this postcard. Finally, lost in a mist, the almost island of Voreio Tmima Chersonisou Rodopou Dimou Kolymvariou takes shape.

If you are not left dreaming by this painting, the hotel has a beautiful gym, a free shuttle to the city every half hour as well as one of the best lunches ever eaten made with local products or no. You will be able to eat local pastries, cheeses, cold meats while drinking a freshly squeezed orange juice.

Stay a day and enjoy the decent food and amazing view. Don't stay long enough and need to do laundry. Garbage laundry facility. Took me 9 hours! They have tons of machines that don't work and the ones that half work will not spin dry. So hit the laundry a million times! Wasted day!

And above all: without getting a headache from the crowd!

The Royal Sun hotel is in a great location on the edge of Chania with a beautiful view of the harbor. They have a shuttle to Old Town every half hour, a great pool, and an excellent restaurant. The staff are friendly and accomodating. I would stay here again.

Wonderful views, very helpful staff. But a coffee companion would not be ugly (Biscuits etc). It shows a lot worse than those festive days (Christmas)
