Hotel Le Montclair Montmartre (Paris) Review

Beautiful people ..... stairs ..... and bue.attencion of good people

A very nice hostel, located in a nice neighborhood. I recommend for those who want to travel to Paris who do not have a very large budget.

Cleanliness: 4/5, excellent sanitary level in the rooms and the hostel in general. May be just the shower to improve.
Location: 3/5, ok, we are in Paris so it is clear that some neighborhoods are more agitated but it was still very good.
Atmosphere: 4/5, very warm and welcoming, it feels good when arriving.
Miscellaneous: 3.5 / 5, very efficient kitchen, always a plus on a trip to save money. However, we regret the lack of a real inner courtyard without a chair that close early.

Clean facilities kitchen if you need it easy access to everywhere via the metro great service and staff are multilingual :)

Very helpful multi-lingual staff, clean rooms, comfortable shared space. I stayed in the female dorm on the 4th floor (5th floor by America's count) which has 2 bunk beds, 2 chairs, a table, 4 lockers, and an attached bathroom. You can see Sacre Couer from the window. The windows have modern latchings. There is a school across the street and the children do scream at recess, but I shouldn't have been sleeping then anyways. Bring a towel (or rent one). I found the bedding acceptable. The neighborhood is also great - just enough off the beaten path to find non-touristy places, but accessible. There are even Michelin-star restaurants around that are affordable. It's the kind of neighborhood where neighbors know each other. I loved just wandering around Montmartre.

The elevator was broken and we stayed on the 5th floor. But ok. The outbuildings are simple but clean and cute

In general, it's not bad. The downside is the size of the bathrooms, which has no elevator and the stairs are snail and narrow, the breakfast buffet is a trap (you can only take one thing of each put), the views are towards a school and you hear a lot noise at night. The common kitchen is not bad at all, the problem is that people steal the forks and the receptionists go on the subject. Yes, we had to dine spaghetti with a spoon, quite a challenge. Cleaning not so bad, flat pillows and mattress acceptable. The reception very nice.

The service was wonderful. Unfortunately, the Brazilian who worked there has already returned to Brazil. The lady who serves breakfast, Maria, is incredibly friendly, and understands Portuguese. Breakfast is unwilling, it is only served once and is usually made up of bread, croissant, chocolate bread, butters, jam, sometimes Madeleine, all small, drink, tea, coffee, chocolate, cappuccino and a juice. The hostel is close to Sacre Coer, and is well located (when transport is not on strike!) Luggage can be stored before and after check-in. What I regretted was staying on the 6th floor, with no lift, with narrow stairs. To go up and down with bags, I found it complicated, and after getting busy all day, it costs to climb all this kkk and is next to a kindergarten.

The location was nice; and the staff at front were sweet. But, I don't recommend staying here. The room was extraordinarily hot, could hardly get any sleep at all. On the top floor, required walking up a huge steep flight of stairs each time as lockers were downstairs. I was also disappointed that there was no vibe at all at this place; and I met no one here on this trip (4 nights). No organized events, tours, or pub crawls.

Sandwich that was supposed to be hot served cold (temp fridge). Otherwise nothing exceptional. A quick trick for tourists.

Good reception, generally clean, however the bedding in our room was well worn.

Everything I needed from a hostel. Clean bed, friendly staff, kitchen, and bathroom. air con could have been stronger but it was there and the room was always comfortable. Great to discover Montmartre. Be aware as a woman walking alone at night but I had no problems

Huge joke, tiny eqpace, cold room, defective heating, tiny kitchen, home that leaves something to be desired ... Moreover, everyone can go home without authorization! We were stolen an audio headset before our eyes and the manager did not even move ... I strongly recommend!

Great hostel with excellent staff, very clean and very fun people to hang out with! They have some get together events with snacks that are awesome! The location is very good as well, nearby the Jules Joffrin station. Had a great time and would definitely recommend it and stay there again

It's a great place to stay for your first time in paris

This is a hostel with a unique atmosphere. I used it for about 10 days last summer.
The price is okay, and it is very cheap if you get Early Bird benefits. The room is tidy and the shower facilities are good. The staff are friendly and the service is good. As the ceiling light was not turned on, he said, "I'm sorry that I can't fix it right away," and he upgraded it to a better room. It was best that there were few Koreans or Chinese people. You can meet people of all ages, from children to middle-aged.
There is no elevator and the stairs are narrow, making it difficult to go up and down. Wi-Fi only works well in the lobby and restaurant, and is sometimes found on the second and third floors.

My experience will end with the fact that they are dishonest and bad faith.
I booked Sunday evening for 5 nights from January 7 to 12, 2019 for a non-refundable room with payment on D-day directly at the hotel since I did not tick "I want to pay now" by entering my bank details allowing to book bedroom.
In fact, I was not yet certain of my coming to Paris but I preferred to play the security card.
I realized I had misheard 2 hours later and immediately contacted the hotel by email explaining the situation. The next morning, amazement, I was answered badly by telling me that it is non-refundable and non-cancellable and that I have already been debited and I am attached to the general conditions in English by surrounding them in red with a dot exclamation. Who are we kidding ?!
I then contacted the hotel by telephone and I came across the same interlocutor as by e'mail. (Elisa) just as friendly and human both orally and in writing ...
The conversation is brief; it refers me to Booking. The booking advisor to whom I explain the situation and to whom I specify that I am starting a business and not riding on gold indicates the conditions and especially the faot that they are only simple intermediaries and that only the establishment can exceptionally cancel the reservation. She also contacts the hotel as well as its manager who remain in their position.
But Mr Director, I invite you to read article L111 of the consumer code and to go to your Booking page by following the same route as mine. I have done it 15 times since Sunday and as many times I could have fallen into the trap.
You still don't want to pay me back and be satisfied with the 150 you stole from me ?! I will have no trouble even from a distance to put a homeless person warm during these 5 nights in the middle of January. At least they won't be lost on everyone.

Rare Family room available for 6 (2 adults plus 4 teens) We stayed here for a week it was completely satisfactory. Close to transport. Brought back memories of my backpacking days but still family friendly.

I made a reservation for this place last June. I arrive there, it was closed. I tried to contact the accommodation by phone but no one answered. They could have sent me a message to say that the hotel would be closed.

The rooms are very small, with noisy bunk beds. Take your towels because they charge extra. There is no elevator and we touch the 5th floor. We recommend the boat ride on the Seine river that you sell at a reduced price ( 9) at the reception.
Very clean and well located to visit Montmartre or take the metro. The cheapest option we found.

The rooms this hostel has to offer do not worth the price at all and the hostel doesn t do much to help: no power socket accessible from the bed...only 3 for 6 beds but staff not able to provide multiplier....,bathroom very very small, breakfast at 6 is crazy money when a 3 would be a fare price. Oh, and the school nearby makes you up early without having to use an alarm.
Also I globaly found that this hostel attracts a young population that have poor education and no sense of respect...

For the convenience of its location, and its functionality.

The location is very close to the center of the city, you can be there by train easily. The check in starts at 3:00 pm. The place have a kitchen that you can use, the rooms are ok, the bathroom and shower are inside your room. It's a good place for stay with friends or family and you can pay with credit card.

Wonderful atmosphere and staff! I had an issue with my room, thankfully management took care of the problem to the best of their ability in a reasonable time frame. Would definitely return upon my next visit to Paris. Merci Le Montclair.

Not the cleanest but cheap. The area is not that dodgy-at least for a guy in cheap clothes. From the bus/metro station to the hostel you only need to walk past a very busy area packed with people even after midnight which made me feel very safe. Nice atmosphere at the hostel by Parisian standard.

A nice hostel And near there a Nice Kabab shop no expensive and very delicious 61 rue Ramey.

The staff were great and helpful, the rooms and bathrooms very clean and comfortable. The location was good with subway station right next to the hostel. The kitchen is great for cooking and the common areas are beautiful and well decorated.

Good loclocati next to a very parisian suburb...Staff needs to be more knowledgeable about sourroundings...Needs to pay attention when asking a question.Breakfast was very basic and limited...

Fantastic service and great people (: Awesome shared kitchen in which you can meet so many different people. One improvement to be made would be that there are 6+ floors but no elevator... and the only way up is a narrow spiral staircase ): other than that, showers and beds are great!

The receptionists are the best: very friendly and they like to help us in many languages. Other guests look nice too - I had several conversations with other nationalities. Very cool. And, the location is superb; you will love Montmartre!

Very low standard, bathroom toilet uncomfortable. Leaky room, overlooking the yard, I do not recommend in the cold months.

Not bad for the price you pay. We took a room with private bathroom, which is a rarity in Paris, and despite being very small, the room perfectly fulfilled its function. The only and biggest drawback is the stairs. Old, squeaky and irregular that we had to use to climb two floors that is where our room was

Polite, friendly and helpful staff .. comfortable and clean rooms. Small kitchen and tables available usable from 9 to midnight .. ideal for those traveling alone or in company want to spend little and still be comfortable .. the metro station is two minutes walk.

the beds are very uncomfortable. The loft beds wiggle with every little movement and they are made entirely of metal. So the actual insert frame is simply a metal plate

Nice hotel! With nice view! Cool small rooms and very pleasant personel. Very good experience! The room is clean, the batroom and shower are out of rooms on the flor. Room has sink. Service was very nice and punctual. They serve breakfast for reasonable price. I will come back for sure.

The hostel is very clean and nice, the reception guys are very friendly and speak several languages.
The kitchen is large and has a refrigerator, microwave oven and stove, plus several kitchen utensils to prepare to eat. The atmosphere is very friendly and hospitable

Stayed here this past week for an overnight stay, this was a super emergency choice and not our normal level of stay in a hostel. The staff was super friendly, the rooms seem to be clean, there was no elevator and our room was on the 4th of the 6 floors in the establishment. The price was the most reasonable that we could find the night of and last minute.
You are asked to bring your used linen down with you upon check out. We did not use the shower as it reminded me of a beach shower & we opted to just shower at our next stop in Bere- Hakim. In a jam I would stay again...only in a jam. We did not take advantage of any of the amenities if they had them. By the time we each carried our 40 lb luggage up 4 flights of the spiral staircase no one in our group of 3 dared to go back downstairs as we were too tired!

Very clean, easy to find, for what you are paying it's fantastic. Friendly staff. My only qualm is it is NOT tall person friendly. Short beds, small toilet rooms and the shower is very low and difficult to use if you are over 6'

My short trip to Paris was wonderful thanks to Le Montclair Hostel. I stayed here for 2 nights.

It's a little away from the center but the transport options are really good (there are 2 metro stations nearby). Staff of Le Montclair Hostel is very friendly, polite & helpful. They know Paris really well.

The rooms are perfect in size - not too small, not too big. Toilets are clean. The kitchen is a little small yet there's everything you might need to cook.

You can chill in their lounge, play foosball or retro video games or simply chitchat with fellow travellers. Overall, it was a nice experience for me & I'd recommend it to everyone visiting Paris.

There is also a private access card in the room for four people, which is very secure and very close to the subway.

My first experience in a youth hostel .. smiling and attentive staff..the setting is nice.j I love the atmosphere of the lounge and these multiple corners for entertainment.possibilite to cook with a fridge at disposition.les rooms certainly small but for the The price can only be satisfied. Especially since you do not come to Paris to stay in your room. Highlights would have been appreciable. I used the common shower very clean. Next we could have dreamed of an elevator but good ..in any case a good memory

This is a hostel located a little far from the tourist center of Paris but with excellent access to urban transport that brings you closer to the emblematic places. It has clean rooms, hot water, but doesn t have air conditioner. The breakfast menu is reduced. In some cases, you have to bring your own towel. The personal is very kind.

This is a small hostel with a tiny living area. It has kitchen, however it is a very dirty one. In my opinion this is that type of hostel where you pay just to sleep and not really because of the good facilities and environment besides the bedrooms.
