Qualifying it by location is fine, I liked that I had a bathroom in the room, maybe they could work more at breakfast. The main problems I had can not be controlled by the hostel, because when I was there an Australian girl was looking for my things

Clean enough but bare bones here folks. Maybe I'm just a spoiled American but please give me a heads up if my room is on the sixth floor. No towels no soap no TV, at least I can get wifi connection. No shower head! I'm finding this out within my first ten minutes here, I'll follow up tomorrow.

My friend and I were pretty worried going into this hostel because of all the reviews. To our delight however, we had a lovely stay! We were in a 6 person shared room for 3 nights. Dina and Aurora were wonderful presences at the front desk and were always willing to help us out with anything we needed. Beds were mostly comfortable, bathroom was clean. There were lockers to store your stuff and a free luggage hold at the front desk. There was a kitchen and cute common area where people often congregated. Not sure why this place has such negative reviews because our only true complaint was that there weren t many outlets in the room (3 for 6 people). Montmartre is also just a great area that is very calm and beautiful, which is a nice change from the touristy/busy central Paris. Thank you so much Le Montclair Montmartre!

Shameful!

Shameful!
I booked a 3 night stay for the month of August at the end of May. We arrived on Monday evening to check in and had the unpleasant surprise to find the inn closed. The minimum would have been to warn customers who have made reservations.

If you're a college student/under 25, this place is not for you!!! This is NOT a fun cool youth hostel and there are mostly older people staying here (like 30s-40s). This place is fine if you purely need a cheap place to sleep and shower, but it's sketchy, from the people staying there to its location in Montmartre, which is not a great area. Beds are not made when you get there, so we had to make them ourselves when we arrived at night and people were already sleeping. There are NO LOCKERS IN THE ROOM and only a few lockers in the lobby - they were all full when we got there, so we slept with our valuables on the first night. The next day one locker opened up so we felt a little better once we could store our valuables at night. Showers/bathrooms were decent but extremely tiny, staff were very nice, but the lack of lockers and the general vibe made this place kind of scary to come home to at the end of the day. Spend a little more money to go somewhere nicer with a younger vibe, you won't regret it.

Of the most accessible in Paris. Excellent attention, good and location. The best thing is that you can leave your luggage and they let you use the kitchen and bathroom before check-in and after check-out.

This hostel was by far the worst one I visited during my month long stay in Europe. We stayed in over 8 different hostels, where we payed around the same or less amount of money but this one was a huge disappointment. First of all, they ripped us off by not giving back a deposit which we were told via email we would be given back. After that, the staff, besides the only manager who was ever around (once during our 4 day stay), was rude and not helpful at all. Their ride to the airport was also a terrible deal. The cleanliness of the rooms and bathrooms was poor, the environment of the hostel was very boring as well, not very many young people and breakfast was a joke too. Again, terrible customer service, worst hostel ever!

Me and my girlfriend like to stay in hostel for the aspect of meeting fellow travelers but I can't recommend this place. The most important thing about traveling is to get a good night sleep that did not happen here. We got here on a Thursday we were suppose to stay till Sunday well there was a lot of young teenagers that stay up till 12:30 knocking on all the doors, playing music really loud. We call front desk around 10:30 and 11:30 nothing happen till 12:30. So the next morning we had to check out, we went to the front desk and explain the situation, the front desk said that they took care of it,I guess they did but I was really late. Then they said they are leaving so you should be fine for the next couple of days, I just toll the front desk is not worth it to stay and deal with the same problem,I don't even want to think how it is on the weekends. Basically the hostel attracts a young crowd. The front desk was not very helpful.

Stayed there in December 2012 in a private room.
The hostel offers good value for money. Rooms are clean and (our) had a private washroom. Obviously the location is great with the metro station 5min away and Sacre Coeur in walking distance.

We stayed here on 6 March and 7 March. We were going as 4 friends, but our two friends did not come. We paid the fee for 4 people. However, on March 7, we entered the early room to receive our belongings. After 5 minutes, someone entered our room with a card. I told him that the entire room belongs to us, that we paid for it. He got angry. The attendant told us to come to our room and go down immediately. He sold the room to 2 more people below. Although I showed our reservation, they were hardly convinced. If we were logged in late, there would be unfamiliar men in our room. I have never seen such a ridiculous thing. I will never stay there again. Away from the center and disgrace .. Soap towels etc. no already exist. You buy it if you want. The light bulb of the room broke out, and although I did not, they did not. I never recommend!

Stayed in the 4 bunk room. It had a private shower, air conditioning, and the bunks were long enough for me (I'm really tall). Breakfast is 6 for what is basically croissants and coffee. 3 minutes from the metro. Would stay here again.

The price was ok and the bed was good
But the toilet is outside and it's a shared room, so if someone comes in late, you can wake up.
Without a towel, you won't be able to shower!
The people are kind too, so whatever you ask for help,

The hostel is located within 5 mins walking distance to Jules Joffrin Metro Station and about 15 minutes walk to Sacre Cour /Montmartre.

Our reservation was directly through their website and no advance payment was made. At the reception, we were advised that rooms will be ready only after 2 PM, so we need to deposit our luggage in the locker room, which was a small room in the lobby with metal racks on which everyone dumps their luggage.

We had booked two dorms with 4 beds each and en-suite bathrooms. Our rooms were on the 2nd & 3rd floor, which could be accessed through a narrow wooden spiral staircase. Since there are no elevators, you are in for a challenge if you are traveling with a large suitcase.

The rooms themselves were quite small, two bunker beds on either side with enough space between them for two people to stand facing each other. A small table in the corner and space to access the bathroom. That's pretty much all the moving space you get. If four large people stay here, it will feel very crowded. Four lockers are available in one corner, and a few plugpoints are available on one of the walls near the bunker bed and near the table, though on one side of the wall, absolutely no plug points.

Bathroom was clean, functional and the shower, as others mention here, is powerful enough to launch rockets.

Once you recover from lifting your luggage to the room & freshen up, you can have breakfast in the cozy dining room in the basement. Croissants, corn flakes, bread, honey, butter, jam, fruit juice, milk, coffee, toast.. A filling breakfast spread indeed.

The lobby has a few games for visitors to play with. WiFi is free and available almost across the property, though it is a bit patchy in the rooms.

If you are looking for an affordable place to stay in Paris, this is a decent option considering its proximity to Montmartre and metro stations But the small rooms, no lifts etc can be a bit of downer. Still a decent option.

Keys were not working properly. We came back tired from disneyland at 01:00 Am and climbed to 4th floor from stairs. Tried key to open room door several times, it didnt work. Tried calling reception but no response. Then went back downstairs yo collect another key, climbed 4th floor still didn't work. Had to go down again to ask the receptionist to come with us.
1. They were not picking phones.
2. There is no lift.
3. You need to go to reception to collect toilet papers.
4. No ventilation in toilets.
5. Touch Keys doesn't work the first time.
There should be another fridge as it was over loaded.

Good hostel at a very reasonable price for Paris. The rooms are clean and luminous, although the toilets are a little small.
-Good transportation options nearby - Metro line 12 is just around the corner and line 4 is 5mins on foot.
-Close to the tourist hotspots of Montmartre, a short metro ride from everything else Paris has to offer. Plenty of good food options just south of the hostel 5-10mins away on foot.
-The hostel has a partnership with On the Road, a local pub, so you get a free shot of you go there - Highly recommend both the hostel and the pub to anyone looking for a cheap place to stay in Paris!

Very good establishment. Small bemob on the electrical outlet that are more or less good depending on the room (it is taken at the correct and normal places like the foot of the bed office etc or 1m80 with nothing below and far from the furniture as the bed) reason for which I remove a star

My experience there was not negative, but I was not satisfied either, possibly because I do not like to wait in hostels.
On the one hand I could say that I liked the great willingness of the Spanish-speaking staff to guide you or help you in whatever was necessary, that the kitchen was open late and had the basic utensils available, the good weather to share and meet people from other places and the proximity to public transport.
On the other hand I did not feel comfortable about the cleanliness and the narrowness of the bathroom, we had a room on the 4th floor that was accessed only by stairs (which after a long day was exhausting) and the distribution of the plugs It was disproportionate for a 4 person dorm.
If one goes on an adventurous plan, without much luggage and willing to make friends, it is the ideal place. For those who seek a more relaxed experience and like privacy, I would tell them to think about it. Although if we talk about costs, especially in a city like Paris, this point is to reflect a lot.

Terrible customer service. I "canceled" the reservation because according to them the 3 cards I gave them all were rejected to take the payment. I was intimidated to pass another payment method in 48 hours or they canceled my stay and it was. Since the same cards pay all the rest of the trip. They are a disaster. They were handled with great arrogance. Do not waste your time with this Hostel. Definitely not served!

Not recommended it you're coming to Paris for the first time, it's about half an hour journey to get to city centre via metro. The hostel located at a quite creepy place and I don't feel safe there. The breakfast provided is too simple and not filling at all, same coffee and three types of bread everyday, that's all. The room is quite old and heater was not working, felt so cold at night. One thing we like is the friendly staff, they helped us alot which really deserved one more star. Still, wouldn't come for the next time.

Good but not to sleep.
No sound insulation, we hear all night passing noises, plumbing, even in single room.
Furniture and old building not especially well maintained.
Positive point it's clean and well placed.

I did not like my stay in this hostel, the rooms are not pretty, they are very small. It has no elevator and the stairs are dangerous. I was in the St. Christopher super near there and for the same price I was in an excellent room with breakfast included. I do not recommend it

We didn't use much of the facilities offered BUT the beds were comfy and the bathroom clean, even if it's a little cramped, and the staff were always very friendly and helpful whenever we needed something! It's also close to a metro stop so you can quickly get anywhere in Paris! It's a pretty nice spot.

Relatively cheap and sufficient shelter. The room that we had is a bit strange, with an exposed sink in one of the bedrooms. The bathroom was separated with the toilet in one room and the shower in another.

The customer service is very nice, and they will help you with any questions you may have.

We took the buffet breakfast but it turns out that it is not very free since they only let you take a Neapolitan and a croissant.

In general it was a pleasant stay.

MY experience at the Montclair was amazing. I met really good people here and the atmosphere was simply amazing. It was alive but not party style. I met a lot of people and we became like a little family at the hostel. I was only there for 3 nights. Room was clean. Showers did the job. I was in an 8 mixed dorm, I had some odd people in my room but that is not the hostels fault! Staff was helpful and informative. The breakfast is great! So much more than you get at a normal hostel. Location was decent as well. Right near sacre couer, which is absolutely beautiful. There are restaurants and supermarkets near by and the tram station is a minute walk away! I loved it here. Would recommend it to anyone for a short stay!

Really terrible place DONT COME. I know the price may be tempting, but I truly regret booking and staying here. We were place on 6th FLOOR, where there is no elevator in the building! Our private bathroom had no soap and of course no towels at all due to having to rent towels. This is actually a shelter disguised as a hostel, which the fact of it being a shelter is not a problem but making it seem like a quality hostel, it seems like false advertisement. Beds were gross (stains) and hard-very cheap mattresses and yes they were cheap small bunk beds. Blanket and given sheet was very thin. Even a private room as we booked with en-suite bathroom was not worth it and we were still charge the price of a good quality hostel.ive stayed in the Montmartre area before but the location of this place was in a part Of Montmartre that was very seedy with not a lot of action happening, with dark streets and few stores felt very unsafe if I wanted to go for a bite to eat in the area and I come from a rough urban area back home. I felt unsafe and wanted so desperately somewhere else. Save yourself this experience book somewhere else no matter the cost.
