The food is alright. The water in the shower changes infrequently, the service is great. All the staff are extremely nice and friendly. The rooms are a nice temperature and nice amenities.

Everything was fine, the truth is that the place is quite quiet, rich food, good facilities, but today a driver of the trolleys that take guests run over to a coati, although apparently it was an accident I may have stopped not to pass the tire on him and he did not, thank God the coati managed to get out almost unharmed, I stayed to see him and he was sore and cramped because the tire got on him. It is unpleasant to have animals in the hotels and there is no care for them. The authorities should do something about it, because if they live in the hotel with humans they should ensure their care. Now the poor little animal does not know how wounded he is. #PROFEPA WHERE ARE YOU?

Amazing, people were so nice. Very safe for tourists. The guildes that they offer are awesome! Food was also amazing.

Great place to stay for an all inclusive vacation. The property is smaller than other resorts but found that to be a good thing when walking around. The grounds were extremely well maintained. The staff could not have been more friendly and welcoming. Overall a great stay and experience.

Nice hotel , one of many for tourists mainly from America! But the food was good and the cocktails even better! Sea view and the sea was warm!!

I was lucky enough to spend my 19th birthday here at the resort and I had an amazing time. I loved how the resort was small enough to walk place to place the dinner places were so good and they Catered to my gluten free diet due to celiacs. The event staff were amazing. I loved all the activities. Rodrigo and Arturo were my absolute favorites playing volleyball and getting me to participate. Inez and Naomi were super nice as well! And Mariana has her first few days while I was here and she did great and caught on fast!

All the people who work in this place are super friendly although I would especially like to mention Naomi and Rodrigo is the animation he has. An unbeatable energy, thank you very much.

The food can improve, everything else excellent !!!

I stayed here July 30 to August 4 for a friends bachelorette party. We stayed in room 314. It was infested with bugs that they called ants. The room had to get fumigated. My purse was also infested with these bugs, and they sprayed my purse as well which is now ruined. When the bugs didn't go away after the fumigation, we requested to move a couple doors down to another room that we knew was vacant. However, they wanted us to pack everything up in the morning, bring it to the lobby, and wait until after 3pm to get keys for new room. Apparently this is hotel policy. So basically waste an entire day moving rooms, when we could just walk our stuff a couple doors over easily. We decided to stay in the bug room as we only had 5 days and wanted to enjoy our time there. They also wouldn't replace my damaged purse.

Some other things....
This hotel is for couples. I wouldn't suggest it if you are going with anyone but your significant other.
Beach party was the most fun I had all trip!
Pool foam party is cool, but DJ needs to turn up the music.
Food was very repetitive and we were pretty sick of it by the end of our stay. Very flavorful though.

The service is great in every area. Especially the animation team (Arturo and Rodrigo are great :-)) small note: the hotel is more suitable for couples, but of course is not for couples. Sometimes it smells a little bit sulfurous from the shower, it is best to change rooms directly :-) All in all, I can always recommend it.

I love everything except the food. Everything is bland and there isn't a huge variety. Really pretty and well kept resort though.

My husband surprised me with this trip. I loved every second. Our room was great, we had great service, the pool parties were so much fun.Go on the wave runners & snorkeling! SO MUCH FUN! I love that it is adult only.My suggestion: Buy into the privilege package, it is well worth it! You get a nice wooden bracelet, your own waiter on the beach, your own snack shack, 24 hr room service..etc. We got treated like Royalty! Love this place, it is beautiful and we cannot wait to go back with a big group next time!

I will not stay at this resort again and will not recommend for anyone else. From the moment we got there we were disappointed. I had previously vacationed in Mexico and told my husband how much I loved it but did not love it here. Food was not very good, drinks were watered down, and if you wanted to eat at an off time you were screwed. Beds were SUPER HARD and uncomfortable and there were bugs everywhere in the rooms. Pool very small with only one swim up bar. Beach was disgusting with no good access to any clean water. We were charged additional fee upon arrival which was not much but still not expected. It is no fun getting asked for more money before even starting your trip. There were constantly people coming by trying to sell you something and they were all very pushy. However, you could not find someone to get a drink for several hours. All of the staff made it clear they expected tips. This was not my experience at the other resorts I have been at and was very disappointed by this as those other resorts had much more appreciative staff. The "vacation club" people started over an hour late and kept us way more than 90 minutes. They were even more pushy than the people on the beach but not as friendly. If you can avoid going I highly recommend you avoid going. The room we had reserved is not the type we got and the front desk was unwilling to work with us. I was very disappointed in this facility and will not return.

Wonderful resort! My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. The staff really went above and beyond to make it special for us. We appreciated it so much. The food is fantastic and there are many options. The staff is so friendly and we are very sad to leave. The entertainment team is great too. Thank you Ocean Maya!

I am hesitant to write this because it is a hidden gem-we have tried other places and are now heading back to Ocean Maya for the 4th time. The grounds are so beautiful and peaceful. During the day, there is something for everyone, the party pool, the calm pool and the beach. They seem to improve things every year-this year adding a sports bar. Food in all the restaurants is amazing! Many of the same staff are there year after year, smiling and wonderful!!

STAFF AT THIS HOTEL ARE THE WORST. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. We made reservations for the Japanese restaurant, my brother thought he made it for 630pm and when we arrived to the restaurant at 615pm we were told our reservation was for 6. My husband went back to the room to get the card with the reservation info on it, only to find out it was the wrong place. My brother booked the reservation 2 days prior with Sarah Lopez Fong. She needs a new job and a better attitude. Very ARGUMENTATIVE and disrespectful. While my brother apologized and stated he misunderstood. She would not apologize for her action and while I was asking her for the GM or MOD she kept walking and slightly turned around and said with an attitude the name is on the wall and I said to her is he or she here. She then responded NO and kept walking. Totally unacceptable. I would hope something will be done with her because she is going to push your guest away as she just did my family and I. This is our second time in Mexico, first time at this property but it will be my LAST. We stayed at the excellence and we should have went back there but saw your resort on line and it seemed nice. BUT NEVER AGAIN WILL I RETURN HERE. Javier I must say went above and beyond. Even though we messed up he still found room and time for us. He gets a 100 out of 100. The star was given only because of him. Hopefully he will be recognized for his GREAT customer!!!

I came here on a bachelor party with 17 guys and it was honestly one of the best vacations I have ever taken. The food was on par with what you get at a typical all inclusive resort. The drinks were definitely very strong and all the bartenders have a heavy pour, but they could tone it down if you ask them. The entertainment staff was undefeated. Some of the best and sweetest people I ve ever met. Super friendly, funny and kind. They really wanted to make sure that we were all having a good time and made sure to get everyone involved. They hosted a foam party which was honestly the highlight of the trip.

Spacious and clean rooms. Regular food Exclusive beach area for Premium clients. The others only sink. A lot of rotten seaweed and dirty sector.

Great place and great food. Was worried because there was only a bit of beach connecting to the water but it was great. Dont know why youd book privalege as alcohols still free and the fancy beach is covered in sea weed. The entertainment staff is fabulous too, Arturo, Rodrigo and Naomi. Theyre always having stuff to do and make you not want to leave the resort at all. Most of the entertainment at night is good, the fireshow was sadly cancelled but the broadway show and mexican night were entertaining to watch

Long review but necessary and I don't leave reviews typically.

We are staying currently 5 nights (still here), April 16-21, 2018. It was the first time my wife and i had been to an all inclusive resort, Mexico, or an international vacation at all. The stay started off great.....

Very friendly reception. Most staff are very nice and a joy. We got here kind of late I guess, by the time we unpacked and settled in it was 6 or 7.so we headed to the restaurant by the lobby and had dinner and then stayed in the plaza for the live music and drank.

The entertainment staff were quite fantastic. Very funny and interactive. Especially the Mariachi.

The Resort was not over booked and it was never an issue getting into a restaurant or getting a drink at one of the bars.

Great service by the bar staff the entire stay. Regardless if you tipped or not, they were friendly and energetic. They even remembered what our favorite drinks were and still do. Very awesome!

That's basically the extent of the good...

Pool bar and towel station closes at 6 even though the pool closes at 8.

The room was clean but smelled moldy.

The water took at least 5 - 10 minutes to become hot in the shower.

The meals were subpar at all restaurants except the privilege ones which we purchased in our package. The only one we enjoyed so far was the yokosoo, hibachi grill. Great interaction and fun for that one.

We were not actually given all of the privilege information. We were not told there is a privilege restaurant less than 200 feet from our room and had been trekking to the lobby every day for the standard breakfast and lunch instead of having the premium food choices we paid for in our package, and at a much more convenient location until the end of the 3rd day of our night stay. They require a reservation same day and tomorrow is our honeymoon dinner by the beach which I hope is nice.

Our room was right by the "El Charro" restaurant and smelled like a septic field. Made us sick to our stomachs every time we returned to our room.

The staff promoting the H10 times shares were the worst part for my wife and I. They pressured us pretty much every day. The third morning, the front desk called and woke us up at 7:30 am to remind us to be in the lobby for the sales pitch/presentation that we had already declined.

The gift shop was very pushy as well.

The beach is non existant. There is sand. There are chairs and beds in the exclusive section that comes with the privilege but that is about it. The water is infested with seaweed and pretty gross, so that was misleading based on the pics the resort posts.

Definitely feel we missed out on a lot for the privilege that we paid extra for.

**response to owner** doubtful we will return since we paid such a large amount for the privilege services and got jipped on missing out for more than half our trip, were treated rudely by most staff upon checkout, which was unanimous with EVERYONE that checked out that morning as well.

I really enjoyed this resort, the staff provided great service with the exception of the front desk. We had an issue with our room although it was resolved, in the manner it was resolved could've been handled differently. The guest was a bit racist, they reported us to the front desk stating our behavior was inappropriate. When asked what type of behavior they couldn't explain, caucasians stared and wasn't very friendly. Drinks were horrible

55 minute drive from the airport. The check in time was very slow and seemed unorganized. Very nice resort. staff kept it clean. very polite. the food was great ( go to Asiana first ! You will eat there every day ). the pools were good. I'm giving it a 3 is because once you went off the resort you were asked if you want to buy drugs every 20 to 30 seconds literally ! They don't wash the glasses at any of the bars they dip the dirty glass in soapy water then dip it in clean water wala it's clean I guess. The ocean smelled like a sewer and the seaweed was absolutely terrible we spent no time on the beach because of that

On the surface the hotel and amenities seem great. Privilege staff act interested in being helpful but in the evening the apathetic attitude and lack of service is pathetic. Retauratnts are ok at best food would be cold, or bland, room service was painfully slow. Nothing super great to say about the food or service after 5:00 PM. On our last day there we went to dinner and our service was extremely slow, it took almost 2 hours to get through the meal. When we returned to our room it was clear someone had been in there. My girlfriends wallet had been moved and cleaned out of all cash $150 USD and 1400 pesos. Also my new Ray Ban Aviators were missing. Our room was locked and up until that point there had been zero issues with anything missing even though staff were in and out of room multiple times during the day for housekeeping, restocking mini bar turndown service and some other VIP treatments. We of course reported the burglary and filled out statements. 2 staff members then searched the room and our bags, not sure why. It was clear from the things they were saying that this was nothing new for them. An hour later we were called by hotel staff to let us know that nobody had accessed our room and there was nothing more they could do as we were leaving early the next morning and wouldn t be around for further investigation or to talk with other staff members that could potentially help. I have since found other recent reviews of this resort where guests have been burglarized in their final hours at this resort. I truly feel we were targeted, distracted, and burglarized by members of the staff at this resort. I expect this is a known problem with management and they choose to ignore it because the victims are on the way out the door when the thieves strike and have little recourse to demand any action or real response to the crimes happening on their grounds! Stay away from this resort! They have a lot of housekeeping to do aside from the much needed maintenance to the property and services!

Our favorite restaurant is Dolce Vita, thank you very much for the food, thanks to Alberto and Ines who are incredible waiters, Greece and Alejandro de Privilige, the best thing is the animation is Naomi and Arturo who do their job very well.

4 trips to Playa del Carmen, (Secrets Capri, R.Hideaway, La Perla and the unfortunate Ocean Maya Royale) a friend gives them the stars because it is far from a five star.
The food is a hoax, especially the Japanese, a real fraud.
To the poor maintenance of the facilities, the bad food (only the privilege of the beach is saved) the atmosphere of a cheap two-star hotel, etc. only saves the magnificent exterior and impeccable attention of its staff, of course the latter is not worth the chain.

OMR is a smaller sized resort with huge quality entertainment, staff, food and amenities. I have no complaints about my stay of 4 nights in March. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Food is delicious and plentiful. Top notch entertainment! If you are 18 or 80 you will enjoy your stay at this resort. Something for everyone whether you want to party a bit and get a little crazy or just chill out in the sun or on the beach. If I had to say anything negative it would be it is off the main road quite a distance thru the jungle area and you had nothing to really walk to if you wanted to go off the resort. I will be returning to this resort my next Mexico vacation for sure.

Where to start, this place is just amazing! They have Iguana's Deer, wonderful staff, great food, clean comfy rooms & the beach was beautiful. I was so sad when we had to leave, 7 days wasn't long enough. The nightly entertainment was really good too & the Pina Colada's were flowing non stop. The foam party is a must!! If you can, fishing, snorkeling, visiting a cenote, ATVing in the Mayan Jungle are all musts as well.

I just returned from a week vacation at ORM and I'm already trying to book my next stay with them. The staff all round the resort were so friendly and super helpful should you have any questions! Take the time to get to know your entertainment staff, it will add so much to your vacation! Rodrigo and Arturo were great entertainment staff, making sure the week full of fun and laughter! can't wait to go back to OMR!

Staff are exceptional. Nothing too much trouble. If you want something they will go out of their way to get it for you. Staff polite,friendly and very professional. Hotel very clean. Rooms cleaned to a high standard

My vacations in this paradiosic hotel were the most impressive of all, I never imagined finding such a nice and sophisticated service. The only reason this place didn't get a 5 star rating from me is that we were slightly unprepared for the typical visitors at this resort - which was mainly a lot of older people. That wouldn't be bad if you're looking for a quiet and relaxing vacation, but we were there for a bachelor party vacation (hahaha!). Food was great, staff was amazing, and service overall was good. Nightly entertainment was also good, but always ended early - and they didn't have a night club (disco), like most resorts. I still had a great time, regardless.

I had to work in this place and at night I could find grazing more than one deer every night that speaks of the respect that there must be for nature why the animal did not even fear us or get scared

Pretty decent hotel , rooms are nice and quiet, breakfast is great , you can enjoy a variety of food from fruits , cereals, bread ect, the beach is dirty because of the "zargasos " but in general is a nice place, we enjoy the pool very much , the only thing I would change is that the bar closes at 7 pm at the pool , since is an adults only resort it would be great that bar remained open for a few more hours.

Loved the resort! The staff were so welcoming and friendly. The sports and entertainment staff provided so many fun activities, especially Rodrigo and Sexy Papi!

Rodrigo and Arturo and the entertainment staff made our stay so much fun. The games just keep getting better and they create a fun atmosphere for all to enjoy. We are planning our next trip already. If you want to have fun this is the place!!!

A nice all inclusive resort for more entertainment-oriented people who want a little luxury with compromises at a fair price. The hotel did not completely convince me and disappointed me to a certain extent, but let's start with the positive aspects:
+ spacious and very nicely laid out and well-kept area
+ Buffet in "La Hacienda" always top with a large selection - for breakfast, lunch and dinner
+ good selection of restaurants (5 in total) for which you do not need a reservation
+ very comfortable bed
+ everything was very clean
+ Friendliness of the staff
+ free-range animals on the site that can be observed (coatis, raccoons, a kind of deer, iguanas, ...)
+ good shows in the evening (especially the fire show is great)


What I did not like:
- Room with a sea view was located by the pool where there was always loud music and action during the day
- Beach access is much too small, as the largest section is built like a terrace and you can only lie there, but not into the sea
- Room furnishings are okay but in no way corresponds to 5 *, e.g. the blue bedside tables are very simple and ugly, including the blind which was broken
- The water sometimes came out lukewarm
- Houses are very noisy and if the neighbor slams the door at 8 o'clock then some will certainly wake up; the cleaning staff also start quite early
- I found the bathroom to be small and the ventilation is noisy
- Especially in the afternoon it is difficult to find two free loungers at the pool or at the beach access side by side, because many are reserved with a towel
- I would have liked a brief introduction to the location of the various objects on the site at check-in (even if you got a map)

Those who like party music, foam parties by the pool, water polo, other entertainment programs, shows in the evening, etc. are in the right place in the hotel, especially because the price is right. For people who prefer quiet, a nice beach access and an upscale atmosphere, the hotel is nothing in my opinion. If it were possible I would give it 3.5 stars.

In this stay, it was the worst it is not at the level of the other hotels, super old facilities, it only has 4 restaurants, of which only 2 you can eat during the day, and at certain times, the food is always the same and It is not that good, They only have one type of beer, everything else is liquor or some other beer has a cost with a charge to your room, The LOBBY only 3 spaces to be check-in of which only 1 person is the one who is there waiting too long! The manager on duty MARIO DE LO PEOR rude, disrespectful, despot, well I would never recommend this hotel. When they go to pick you up from certain tours or transportation that wants to pick you up, they don't allow them to enter the lobby, so you have to walk to the blvd to be picked up, it is super far from Playa del Carmen and Cancun, and the cost of taxis, over 30 dlls one way, in a distance of 10 min, they forgot to bring my suitcase to the taxi that picked us up, and they never informed me of my suitcase that I was alone in the lobby for more than 1 hour and they never called me and they didn't . Absolutely nothing! That was my experience outside of that! Los.parques, cancun, playa del carmen, etc. excellent !! But I prefer to take another hotel closer and of better quality! This UGLY AND OLD AND SMALL, it looks like a passing motel

Loved the place! Great food, great company! Everything is completely inclusive. Plenty of activities run by Selza, Naomi, Rodrigo, Ines and Arturo at the pool for volleyball, waterpolo and many many more! Everybody speaks English too. There is amazing entertainment every evening too. Definitely recommend.

We had our wedding ceremony here. Everything was first class! They treated us as visiting royalty. Food was excellent! Drink service was excellent. Two huge pools. One pool has multiple activities going on daily. The ocean was excellent when we were there. The beach / pool has plenty of seating. The staff was excellent. We were with 19 other people. Everyone had a great time. Would definitely recommend. All restaurants were great. Daniela and crew made our wedding spectacular. One of the best weeks of my life!

This hotel did not meet my expectations, first of all, the hotel is not bad, the staff is very friendly and the food is great, the problem is, that's the only good thing about the hotel. They charged us about 200 Mexican pesos upon arrival, which was supposed to be a taxes fee, but looks like to me that was an unofficial fee for the staff itself. I stayed with my friends for spring break, hoping for a lot of parties and activities, guess what, about 90% of the guest in this hotel are over 50 years old, the hotel is super boring, the activities are so bad that I wished that they did not have any. The hotel DOES NOT HAVE A BEACH, even though they advertise a very nice beach... the food is good, but they only serve American food, we were hoping for some traditional Mexican food. The hotel taxis are ridiculously expensive, they will even charge you $4 USD to get you to the hotel's entrance. We booked 4 rooms, as 4 couples we were expecting 1 king bed per room, but instead, we got 2 small beds per room, ALL 4!. The pool is small. There are sometimes of the day there is no food anywhere. I think they should advertise this hotel as, old people only, instead of adults only.

Arturo and Naomi are absolutely wonderful resort hosts! They made all our experiences fun and unforgettable! If you decide to to come here, you ll see how sexy Papi be your chant of the week! 5 stars in my eyes!!
