Hotel Grand Pacific Review

I loved staying in this hotel. Very clean rooms and comfy beds.

Clean hotel with a great location. There are 8 floors (the 8th floor is an executive level), the rooms are a bit dated but they are clean and do serve the purpose they are for. The bathrooms are ok, with an extra sink outside of the bathroom for a total of two sinks, some rooms have balcony and you can have city or water view. The staff is very polite and very attentive. There is a business center and you can walk everywhere from this hotel

Service was amazing. Room was clean and cheap. Pool was clean and great fpr laps. Can't ask for anything else

Always a clean, friendly, pleasant stay. And, of course, the location is easily the best for the Victoria Inner Harbour. Great parking too.

Clean room and very comfortable bed.
10 minutes walk to downtown(restaurant and shopping) I think it's good walk distance.
Starbucks is just outside for morning coffee.

Reason for 3 stars
1.Small fitness room and too many non hotel guess(membership holder) in the room
2. Double room charge - I prepaid the room before I checked in. But charged me again ( i did express check out).

Exceptional accommodation, service and food. Close to everything; museum, The Empress, steamship terminal, directly across from the Black Ball Ferry Terminal, Kenmore seaplane terminal, the harbor with all its beauty. I highly recommend staying here.

Perfect location as its right next to parliament and other main attractions with good service

Stayed 2 nights while attending the Sea King Retirement events. The Grand Pacific is a lovely hotel in a great spot right on the harbor. Clean, updated room had everything you could want. No problems. Pleasant experiences with staff. Will definitely visit again.

Was there for a work lunch. Food was super delicious and all staff I encountered were awesome!

I can't say enough about the amazing staff at Hotel Grand Pacific. Everyone from managers to housekeeping and wait staff were equally qualified and all excelled in their customer service, attention to detail, and anticipation of needs. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone as a beautiful place to stay or host an event.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Grand Pacific. The staff were always smiling and extremely helpful. I was also blown away at what they included with our room. Bicycles, ipads, swimming pool where just the icing on the cake. We will definitely come back.

Really wonderful place to stay and the hospitality was great. The quality of food in the hotel restaurant was good but not worth the price.

Very happy with our stay. Even though there was construction we were not bothered by it. The pool facility was excellent. $18 fir parking but that is to be expected with this fantastic location. We will stay here again.

We came for the boxing day brunch. Good was ok - good eggs Benedict, but middling hash browns. Service was excellent.

Thank you Grand Pacific for helping us to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary in Grand style. You were so gracious in welcoming us and placing us in a room on the top floor with a gorgeous view. To say nothing of the Seniors' Special discount would be improper on our part. Thank you many times over........

Good food and service. They use strange soup bowls...like huge dinner plates with a rim.

Great venue for our BCNU workshop. Really enjoyed the atmosphere. Parking underneath was a hassle until I found out the front desk can sell guests a pass using debit card. Wish there was a note posted somewhere to let visitors in on it.
If did enjoy the food until I watched one of the chef's, still wearing his chefs knee length apron and hat, enter the washroom. At that point I was rightly put off. All I could think of was the bacteria from flushing the toilet or urinal water all over his apron as he nonchalantly spread that about the kitchens. Sometimes being a nurse isn't the most fun. You'd think he would have thunk. that through, infection control and all.

Great hotel with some amazing views depending on your room. Friendly and helpful staff greet you in the hallway and always feel welcoming. Good location, close enough to downtown Victoria that you can walk along the harbour to get there. Located right next to the BC Legislature, but I can't blame them for that. It was there first after all, and as a former BC and current Alberta resident I am well aware that you can't pick your neighbors! But I digress. I would stay at the Grand Pacific again, and I look forward to doing just that in the future!

Hotel Grand Pacific is a great location for your holiday. Within walking distance from most downtown attractions, you may not need the car. The views, if you are on the harbour side,
Offer a different perspective than does Ocean Pointe, a matter of preference.

Rooms are modern, and there is an okay restaurant and lounge admidst many other dining options.

What I did not like is a few staff in the recreational area, ( a report was filed on lack of hospitable behavior) and that there was no downstairs water and coffee/tea bar for residents. I also found the facility to be understaffed during peak Christmas time and that this was reflected in the demeanor of some of the front desk clerks.

My suite toilet was broken when we arrived, though the room seemed clean otherwise. Doors that are not secured in the day may attract undesirables. This is easily fixed by key cards and security.

When checking out, after a four day stay, we were not asked how our stay was in any regard. For a +4 star-rated establishment, this is unusual. I would even go so far as a 3.5 star rating, but Google Maps does not permit incremental star ratings.

If you like a convenient location and nice harbour view rooms, and don't mind the room price structure, this hotel may do.

Afternoon tea was delicious! I was really impressed by the quality of the food and the large selection of tasty teas. Thank you for making a special vegan menu for one of my friends!

Dirty rooms and very outdated furniture. We had an upgraded room for the city view (70 bucks extra a night) - the view was a dumpster, a days inn parking lot, and a liquor store.

I visited the hotel for a conference and social event and was very impressed with the service and decor. A beautiful venue right in the heart of inner harbour made for an excellent experience.

Other finding a dirty wash cloth in the shower, the experience was lovely. The staff was polite and knowledgable.

The front desk was SO helpful, housekeeping had accidentally removed my daughter's stuffy with the sheets. They did not find it until the next day, it had been through the laundry, and by which time we had left, but they couriered it back to us. So grateful! Thanks Alex!!

This is a very nice hotel, but for some reason our bed was not on a bed frame. We had the box spring and mattress on the floor. Not very classy. Otherwise, the hotel is in a great location for touring Victoria. Easy walk to downtown areas of interests. Concierge's were a great help, we would like to thank Dav for his suggestions.
The Courtyard cafe is great! Great soup and sandwiches and coffee. Highly recommend them for breakfast and lunch or if you want a light dinner. The hotel restaurant food is good but extremely over priced. Breakfast buffet was $55.00 for 2 people. Room has good views and employees were very nice and helpful.
Again, I don't understand why our bed was on the floor instead of a frame or why they would put someone in a room like that. Maybe it was because it was booked for us by the Univ. Of Victoria since my husband was speaking at the University.

Hotel Grand Pacific Friends staff. Rooms are very clean and clear and We love this place.

I recently booked two rooms at this hotel for out of town business associates. This hotel provides an excellent guest experience from check in to check out. The rooms are spotless and provide a quiet, comfortable stay. We met as a group in the restaurant/lounge, the food and service quality was second to none. I would recommend this hotel to anyone planning a trip to the Victoria area. Thank you Hotel Grand Pacific.

Great location, great service, beautiful view from the suite

This hotel is fancy and the staff is friendly. Great location! Great view of the water. Walkable to nice attractions. Right at the city center. Great linens and good shower water pressure. Would definitely stay here again!

Got a chance to stay at Hotel Grand Pacific Victoria last weekend for one night. Ferries travelling back to Vancouver were all cancelled for the afternoon and evening, so we were stranded in Victoria. Luckily, we were able to book this beautiful & clean hotel. At late evening, we were welcomed by Front Desk clerk, Ramon. He arranged a nice room for us and took the initiative to make a dinner reservation for us. During our dinner at the hotel lobby restaurant, food was fantastic! Our server, Jay, was friendly and professional. Since I am on a keto diet, he accommodated my special request of switching out from mashed potato to roasted veggies. With his great hospitality, our dinner was very enjoyable! Great views, immaculate rooms. Friendly and courteous staff.

The staff has been great, but to be honest the hotel itself has been a bit of a let down. We did only select the cheapest room style, but found it isn't really any better then in many respects then your average chain hotel. The toilet paper provided is thin and scratchy, the towels are worn, the mini fridge compressor makes a horrible noise, and the carpet is showing it's age. Nothing bad per say, but not quite the luxury hotel I was expecting based off of the advertising/price.
As a heads up, the beds are quite hard, but they do have foam pads they can provide, so you may want to ask for one upon check in if you prefer a softer bed. On a positive note, even getting the cheapest room style we still have a small balcony with a decent view of the harbour.

Review written on day 2 of a 6 day trip, will update if anything changes during the rest of the trip.

Day 5 update: dropping my rating to 3 stars. The longer we are here the more it feels like it just was not worth the additional cost. The door molding is dirty, the bathroom is quite cramped (I am always worried about hitting my toes while shutting the door because there is only about a foot of space between the door and the toilet), and their hot tub was not very clean.

Stayed here for 3 nights in March 2021. Lovely hotel! Clean, comfortable, excellent location. Was too busy to use the gym/pool/restaurant so can t comment on the amenities, but would stay here again.

I love this hotel. I stay here often when working in the area, but also choose to stay here when in Victoria for personal reasons. The facilities are amazing from the lovely rooms with very comfortable beds, to the gym, pool, sauna and steam. The buffet breakfast is excellent, and the location cannot be best if you are looking for a true Victoria experience. Best of all though are the staff. Whether the front desk, valet parking, concierge, management staff restaurant and lounge staff, business Centre, house keeping, reservations, frequent travel lie rewards, they go out of their way to be are welcoming, helpful, and overall make this hotel my favorite home away from home

Room service never showed up to clean our rooms, the front desk staff was not helpful and it's next to the carriage start point, so the outside smells like horse piss by the evening.

Construction going on and can hear the workers swearing, and my 7 year old can hear it

Very much enjoyed our stay. We had two rooms one of which had great views of the water and surrounding downtown. Great location to the Clipper which we came in on from U.S. lots of shops and restaurants in walking distance.

This place is very fancy. They have all the amenities you could want. This includes a parking garage, pool, valet, taxi service and many more. Its right in downtown so you could walk to almost anything in the area. Great views. Great staff. Would reccomend to anyone going to Victoria.

This is a beautiful hotel in Victoria, BC. I was very pleased with the rooms, and the restaurant in the hotel. The only thing I can complain about is the exchange rate for U.S. currency to Canadian currency at the hotel. However, the manager at the front desk was very kind and told me of a place down the street that offered a better exchange rate.

I did not stay at the hotel. I went there to visit a shop. Someone who works at the lobby greeted me. He was super helpful and courteous.

Beautiful location, friendly staff, good food, jazz at night. Beds a bit firm, rooms clean with a bit of dust here and there. Tom the experience manager is a delight to speak with. Pricey, but worth the stay.

Very expensive Hotel and everything about it screams cheap! From the bedding to the TV. The heat in the room didn't work there's no tv channels, plus the tv is old and can't have even a usb loaded on it. The bedding was cheap beds are hard as rocks... Basically the best thing about it is the view of the best western next door, where ya should have gone!! We picked this hotel because itvwas rated in the top ten in CANADA!!! I just don't see how that is possible, when I have been to roadside motels that were nicer and a lot more bang for your buck. I would suggest any other hotel in the area since there's quite a few.

I was very unhappy with my stay here. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, and do not plan on staying here ever again.The regular check-in time at 3 pm. We arrived around 11 am and were told we would be put on a "priority list" to have our room ready. We checked back several times and were continuously told it would only be 30 minutes longer. At the same time other guests were arriving after us and being checked in. Needless to say we ended up checking in after 3 pm and had to rush to a 3:45 reservation. On top of that I was booked a king bed and we were given two twins. Also wifi in our room did not work. We had to go to the lobby anytime we needed to use the internet. The only saving grace for this hotel is the Pacific Restaurant which was very delicious. I will never stay at this hotel again!
