Very nicely located, nice rooms, friendly service and good food

After a very friendly welcome led to our (perhaps too) spacious rooms. Modernly furnished and well maintained. You can explore the island with an electric bicycle. You can store it at the end of the day in the basement at the hotel with the necessary charging points. Breakfast cannot be faulted either, just like the breakfast room, which, just like the rest of the hotel, is very cozy and cozy. If we come to Terschelling again, we don't have to think long about the accommodation!

Really super

Very hospitable service, pleasant, tasty snacks. Were passing through, so couldn't taste the map further. We will certainly come back here because of the experiences during our "fly-by" alone.

Great hotel with neat large rooms. The bar and restaurant is very nice. Lots of board games if it is a rainy day.

Hotel has nice rooms, good bathroom facilities, and is easy to reach. Negatives are limited choice of sandwiches at breakfast (kaiser rolls only), a mini-croissant on Sundays as an extra, at dinner no choice at all; you have to eat what the chalkboard indicates (often simple but tasty), and the unpleasant service: stiff and no longer come along for an extra drink, and you can only sit where exactly the right number of plates are for your group .
The bikes to rent are from Gazelle, have 7 gears and are perfectly fine and perfect for the island.

Very very nice hotel. Especially around the fireplace it is good to stay in the evening.

Super tasty food Contributing nice staff clean and tidy, the room is cleaned daily. The area is very beautiful, near the forest and dune.
It is recommended to take a covered wagon ride, this is near the hotel.

How beautiful it has become, the completely renovated hotel, we only came for the restaurant and that was an absolute good choice. Delicious dishes with beautiful flavor combinations. The service was smooth and friendly, all in a beautiful setting, highly recommended!

We have just returned from a weekend in Terschelling and we have been very well received in the Whale Navigator. A must for anyone who wants to get away from it all carefree and relaxed. Get a big compliment for everything from us. In one word Great.

We did an Eco Safari over the boschplaat ... It was great! Nice and cool. Then we drank a hot chocolate inside. It looked nice and cozy inside.

De Walvisvaarder is a pleasant hotel. The breakfast buffet is well cared for. The welcome three course dinner was tasty with a tomato soup and a delicious salad buffet that made me very happy. Unlike many a restaurant there was more than enough vegetables available. Tasty meat with boiled vegetables and French fries. Add a chocolate sauce. The suite on the ground floor was spacious with luxury, like a bathtub with bubbles, separate shower cabin, a hair dryer, a TV in the seating area and a TV above the bed, a mini fridge and kettle. Spacious seating comfort and a good bed. At the front and back of the suite was a seat on the porch, looking at the courtyard and the land with horse. The cleaning service was great and the staff friendly.
A little less was the fact that the suite was somewhat dark. The whirlpool that was not used began to take on a life of its own. A red light blinked, there was a lot of noise and the only explanation was the spirit of an old sailor. The complex has a long history. The blinking stopped spontaneously and did not disturb us afterwards. The bikes were fine with 7 gears. All in all a nice experience and good starting point for many a bike and walking tour.

The hotel is totally renewed and beautiful. It remains a wonderful home in a new guise.

Very pleasant hotel, lots of comfort and amenities. Pleasantly priced too.

There's no question this hotel is run wholeheartedly - with a genuine wish for all guests to be so comfortable we feel like we've come home. The shared spaces at the Walvisvaarder are more like one giant living room filled with friends.

We enjoyed a stay of 5 days. We were received very warmly and it is always a pleasure to come back here. Everything is optimally cared for, clean rooms, excellent beds, friendly and motivated staff. The breakfast buffet and dinner is super catered. A great stay. A hotel that is worth it.

Slept in the garden room. Nicely and stylishly renovated. Two love Seats in the living room with a smart TV with AirPlay. This should have more hotels . Staff cordial and helpful. The location offers good opportunities to discover the island

At the Whale Navigator we did a safari led by Maarten. Looking for the deer, the birds of prey and the crows, the geese and the white-headed tapuit. We did not see the latter but the rest, including the blue harrier, was present. A pleasant but around this time a cold trip. In addition to the nature of Skylge, we also learned a lot about the culture and historical values of the island. We think this is highly recommended, which was closed in the Whale Navigator with a warming cup of coffee. A nice trip, highly recommended.

My favorite hotel! Beautifully renovated, but the atmosphere has not diminished. Super friendly staff with a big smile on their face. Instead of breakfast buffet, you can now choose from 3 complete breakfasts. Top!

The garden rooms are wonderfully spacious and beautifully decorated. The bathroom is fine. Wonderful environment. Only point of criticism is the noise of the rooms.
