The hotel has had an eventful past. It was the venue for the incidents dramatised in the movie Hotel Rwanda.

The hotel looks good at a cursory glance, however on closer scrutiny it gets interesting. Poor service is very prevalent. I asked for some water in my room and it took more than an hour to get it. They seem to ration water so when showering the water just stops, soap and all notwithstanding.

The food is alright but not great.

Great Sunday brunch for 15,000$ and an amazing band. Would recommend everyone go for Sunday brunch at least once here. Completely worth it.
Includes brunch, welcome wine and pool access from 11am to 4pm.

The atmosphere is still very nice. The price of the rooms has gone down a lot which gives a good value for money. Certainly the rooms could be renovated .. but it's still ok and the view on the pool side is great.
Very nice and quiet garden with swimming pool.
Hanging artwork really gives a great vibe.
Breakfast on the terrace with very pleasant morning sun and a good choice.
Good lunch buffet even if very European.
The corridors are really not very beautiful .. Half dark and half old-fashioned .. To see again.
A bit disturbing in the evening at the bar is the number of ladies who hang out there. Sometimes more than the customers.

So this hotel was inaugurated in 1973 so it is a pretty old hotel. Definitely grand in its days. It is decent even though I think it needs a few upgrades in the rooms. The service we got at the restaurant left much to be desired! Very sloppy. The food was great though

Hotel is a little bit outdated but it is ok. Service is good. Breakfast needs some upgrade in terms of the variety of options they offer. Lunch and dinner are good in terms of quality, portions and size. Service is really good, most of the waiters are extremely friendly. Show on fridays night is really good and very entertaining. Highly recommended.

Old hotel! Bath tub had rust and needed replacing. Good service! I liked the bar and the restaurant. Quiet cheaper than many hotels in kigali. Bath tub issues aside, everything else is okay

Two things I liked about this place. First the natural environment - blossoming flora, landscape... On point.
Second is the food is fantastic. I could go on work mode all day with breakfast alone
And it's Hotel Rwanda, right? So that makes it three
That said... the room had this "ancient" feel to it. No... more like archaic. The bathroom especially was dinghy. Urgent upgrade to modern facilities is needed.

Those who have watched the movie 'Hotel Rwanda' will surely be remembered. This is where the film is made. Still thick with nuances of the past. It's nice to sit on the veranda or at the poolside bar, enjoying the atmosphere of the afternoon or the morning. Accompanied by eagles flying overhead. At night, we can enjoy the city light with hilly landscape. Very pleasant experience.

In 1994 this hotel and the activities happened here, inspired the film Hotel Rwanda. However, since there was not any reference to the movie on display at the hotel, the connection did not seem as significant.

The common areas are clean and inviting. The breakfast was varied and good. Staff friendly and helpful. Large pool and tennis courts. Unfortunately, the room itself was not so nice. The rooms were dated and reminiscent of budget motels. The lighting was poor and there was only one outlet available in our room. No outlets by the bed. The bed was acceptable although the pillows were very hard. The bathroom was sparsely stocked with only 1 hand towel and 1 washcloth for 2 people. Amenities standard.

Note that if your room is on the side of the hotel that overlooks the pool, they have musical group events at the poolside several nights a week that will be loud and clear in your room. We asked to be moved to a quieter location which the hotel accommodated. The rooms do not seem to be insulated well and outside noise can be easily heard. Free high speed Wi-Fi.

I didn't had the opportunity to enjoy a stay there but enjoyed the lunch over there. Well i should say that even if it was a small one i enjoyed them a lot. They had a good variety of everything, from salads to deserts. I would recommend anyone to drop there any time to enjoy good food and dn't worry. it's not expensive at all!!!

Lovely hotel. A bit dated as others mentioned, but I think it adds to the charm of the place. The personnel is very friendly, the breakfast in the garden is peaceful and the atmosphere around the pool in the afternoon is very family oriented.
