Hotel Casino Van der Valk Sassenheim Review

It's almost a km walk to the nearest station. Plus the rooms are mainly for business travelers staying alone or for couples. The bathroom and toilet were separate but had glass doors.
We were a family with a kid and it was very awkward. We asked for another room but it was not available. This shud be mentioned clearly while booking. We would not have booked the room had we known this.

Housekeeping was pathetic. the bedcover was just thrown( i mean thrown) on top of the pillows as a part of cleaning. Nothing else was cleaned. Used cups and glasses and towels were left as is. Even the pillows were lying as we had left them under the cover. Did not replenish toiletries or face towels. It was so disappointing to see the room like this after we came back tired after being out all day Totally disappointed..

Nothing to complain about, ........ or, well, maybe the acoustics in the restaurant. It soon becomes noisy.

The new facilities are very comfy, very good quality food, particularly the sushi at the bar.

I had a 4 day training and care here was fantastic. Nice rooms, wonderful shower, wonderful beds.

Very modern but not lifted. Room very clean and with balcony. Breakfast top. Location right on the highway not noticeable. We will be back.

Very neat rooms with semi open bathroom. Hotel has been completely renovated and has spacious rooms, with balconies. Food in the restaurant is good both evening a la carte and buffet breakfast.

I was here for a business appointment and had coffee and lunch. Van der Valk locations are ideally suited for business appointments.

Well located and clean hotel.

Unfortunately, the soap in the shower was empty for 2 days, which shouldn't be in this price range.

Breakfast relatively expensive, so I preferred to go into town or to the beach.

I am a fan of this hotel. Nice rooms but the hospitality and service surpass everything.

Had a short meeting. Everything was well organized. From the room you can adjust everything on a smart screen, works very easily. Beamer can be controlled wirelessly via Google Chromecast.

The service in restaurant Ozzo of this van der Valk hotel was extremely poor, has no eye for the guests and makes you wait unnecessarily long.

You do not get a chance to order drinks because the service does not follow you.
This keeps the bill low; that makes a difference ..

Busy, unbelievable noise, limited menu, uninterested staff. A nice children's corner.

Just had a disappointing meal. A meager portion of meat, almost without vegetables and a small dish of fries for 2 people. The mayonnaise was provided with an old sheet. After expressing our disappointment, nothing was done with it. We find this "Van der Valk" unworthy and certainly will not return.

Had a wonderful Christmas life cooking brunch on Boxing Day. Well taken care of. Pleasant atmosphere. Good food. Also a party for the children.

We booked the hotel as a place to stay for Soldaat van Oranje which is fifteen minutes by car from here. The hotel is ideally located on the highway and is completely new and exudes luxury. We had a suite for a good offer and it was fully equipped. Bed was good, everything was clean and present. The breakfast in the morning was also a party. We will be back

Super service, very friendly staff. The restaurant has been beautifully renovated and the kitchen is top notch. It is a relaxed and easily accessible place where you can eat, but the staff really makes the difference here. Did not sleep here, so no judgment about the rooms, but the restaurant is great.

All in one is what comes to mind. A great place for a conference, with large meeting rooms and enough break out spaces. A good hotel with clean and efficient rooms. But also a nice restaurant with an extensive buffet, a bar with an outside terrace and even a casino. I had a great time staying here.

Very nice hotel with good rooms, friendly staff and very good breakfast. Good to visit Amsterdam, Rotterdam and other places nearby.

Location super, staff very friendly. Rooms are tiptop. Breakfast very extensive, dinner also tasty and sushi restaurant is superior. Only downsides are that you can buy minibar packages while you can't keep them cool. Also the full transparent glass door on the toilet is a letdown.

Location perfect to move into Leiden. Friendly staff that helps well and quickly. Rooms are tidy only not all shower tubs were topped up. The Ozzo Bar was very atmospheric and the walking dinner concept was also a success. However, one point for improvement: the public toilets could be smelled in the hallway.

I only knew the name Van der Valk because we used to make jokes about their "appelmoes met kers". Dutch people used to go to the restaurant with their grandparents for a cheap meal.

Yesterday I was there for the first time in years and I was surprised how nice and fresh it looks and feels. The food looks awesome and with the pay-once & pick-what-you-want formula you really go out and try everything.

Remember to start with just small bites because they have a wide selection. Also perfect for kids because they can go into the kids corner and prepare their own pizza.
