Hotel Carrillon Review

PLUS:
Hotel is hygienic. Nice location too. Easily accessible from the central station approx. 1 - 1.5 km walk. Funny to be woken up by screaming gulls.

MIN:
Rooms are very small and cramped. No minibar. A closet with an ironing board. But where that can be arranged is a mystery to me! Headboard bed is below a reduction so bumping your head is quite possible. You can pull the bed backwards, but this is at the expense of the room for maneuver that is not really good anyway. Bed is on the short side. I am 1.84 meters and my legs were about 10 cm over the edge of the bed. Shower and toilet are clean but must be shared. Locks hardly work. Shower is very tight and partly runs dangerously diagonally to the right so hold on to the disabled lever. Poor drainage vapor. No place for storing towels or underwear. You walk down the hall in your bare ass. In itself I don't have that much trouble with that, but maybe fellow hotel guests do. Very narrow corridors and very steep stairs. Customer friendliness staff to say the least on the poor side. VAT receipt with company name was too much to ask. Interior begins to show cracks and cracks here and there.

In the city center. Great view in the cathedral. Good burger

Single glazing on the big market ???? Been awake all night because of the noise. Everywhere it is stated that breakfast was at 7:30 am, at a quarter to 9 everything had to be prepared. Super bad.

After a busy Saturday, sitting on the terrace in the sun was a good idea, Until we got 2 glasses of cola after a good half hour, we thought it will be busy with few staff. Even after asking for the card several times, we only got it after 20 minutes. When we were not helped at all after that, I walked in to order some food. I was kindly asked to wait outside for the waitress who never came.

After another fifteen minutes we had had enough and I paid the shocking bill of 17.20 for 2 glasses of coke and a lot of useless waiting for no service.

Fine, clean, simply furnished, corridors do something studentiko, room at the front smelled like smoke, got another room without problems. Breakfast was tasty and good care.

Good food, different types of beer and good service.

We've been there in February. It was okay, clean and the staff was nice. The bathroom was also clean and nice.

Only problem, when we arrived one of the windows didn't close properly and the owner only closed it with adhesive while telling us to heat the room.

He didn't move us in another room or gave us a discount.

So it was okay but be a little bit careful!

Dramatically poor service. They did not come at all when I asked, and I was already there for a long time (waiting 40 minutes on the card, and then 15 minutes on the order). Not asked if we wanted a drink and then not if we wanted a new drink. Not asked if everything was satisfactory. Bad experience. Disappeared as quickly as possible. Food was nice by the way.

Horribly dirty! Bathroom was covered with hair, toilet was covered with poo.
The room smelled really bad.
Immediately went again.

Nice restaurant in the middle of Haarlem. Nice and smooth service. We have chosen this restaurant because of a social deal. Three course menu for 14.00 euros! And you could just choose from the menu! All three courses were good and sufficient. This deal was well worth such money! We will definitely come back again.

Food very good. Unfortunately the waitresses do not seem to really care about customers and are very slow. Sticking to the smartphone when the customers wait is just not possible

My vegetarian sister ordered a cheese toastie, and the server brought out a ham-and-cheese toastie. After my sister realized this, she let the server know. He said the chef would prepare a new one. Instead, the chef removed the ham (not even all of it) and brought it back out. My sister didnt realize this until the last few bites, when she had to spit out a small piece of ham. We notified them. No apology, nothing. Absolutely disgusting, and beyond lazy.

Fairly expensive wine and uncertainty about the opening times of the terrace. Good location

The restaurant is expensive. There is a quite and calm atmosphere.

Super location, nice service and top food. Gladly again.

Affordable, good quality and reasonably good service

Room was in itself semi 'clean', but certainly not worth the 85 euros I paid. Very austere and 0.0 luxurious. Breakfast was not special, boiled egg was already a few days old, croissant was soggy. Almost all night suffered from the loud music of the disco next door, really not normally loud. I'll never come here again.

Ordered croquette sandwich but I would not even feed the bread to the ducks. Beer was cold.

Nice central location, rooms are very small. The stairs upwards have narrow steps and are very steep. Staff is okay, overall experience is okay not great, but good to stay overnight

It was relatively good food but they wouldn't serve us tap water on a hot day. Kind of turned us off...

Room was dirty, floor was crooked, bathroom door could not open completely so you have to squeeze in and located next to some nightclub where the loud music was played all night. So no eye shut. Reasonable breakfast but not value for money.

Well located with clean rooms and very good shower. The only thing though is that it has no lift. But worth it.

Nice place to stay in evening to catch the last sun of the day!

A few of the waitresses are actually nice but the rest has a less than pleasant attitude. Confusing opening hours as well

Lunch was of good quality, but no more than that. The menu was actually too nasty to handle. Service does not speak Dutch and can also work on hospitality. Operation was smooth, but it was not busy. Leaking dressing table on toilet caused water ballet.

Good location. Rooms pricey for what you get for it. Surrounding buildings in the evening, not entirely unexpectedly, cause a nuisance with music and visitors

Love this place. Will always stay here when in Haarlem. Excellent breakfast.

Horrible...worst place ever! Rooms small and discusting!!! Badest beds i ever had!!! Unfriendly manager...unprofessional stuff....

Slow service, had to ask for the bill twice, dinner took 2 hours overall.

Rooms are very noisy. Sober but clean. Restaurant is good.

Well located hotel at the station of Haarlem. Within walking distance of the center. Very good breakfast, friendly staff. room was very warm and noisy when we left the window open at night.

Operation very nice but very slow. No hospitality experience. Carpaccio from the freezer. Main course not to come back. The bill was handled properly after our complaint. Too bad sitting at a nice point.

Crowded terrace but service rather quick when taking in consideration how crowded it is. Nice french Fries. Very nice aperol spritz.

The room was clean and tidy, there was little comfort and then 85 euros is quite a lot. And especially if you are kept awake all night by the music from the pub next to the hotel. At 4 o'clock !!! it finally became quiet. Too bad that the boy behind the reception spoke poor English, so I wonder if my message about the noise came across well. By the way, I don't think I'm the first to complain about this, but apparently the owner doesn't think it's important enough to do anything with it. In any case, I have indicated that when I come back to Haarlem (and I will certainly) I will never go to the Carillon again !!

The bed was too small but the room was clean only I would put some things down because it is much too bare and the wall does not look fresh. In addition, the staff was not friendly and the bread was dry at breakfast the breakfast was also scanty.

Room was dingy and even after the complaint still dirty. Food was not tasty either.
