You get charged for council tax if your property is empty. Whilst I understand that this is discourage properties being left empty but if a relative has passed away and you are trying to sell the property or some other unfortunate circumstances, you get stung. Why not after 3 months start charging council tax? I have lived in 2 other counties where they have allowed this, so it is Horsham District Council being their usual helpful self.

Failure to protect vulnerable adults to the point ...

Failure to protect vulnerable adults to the point where their incompetency and negligence becomes abuse of vulneravle adults and abuse of a position of trust.
A relative of mine was afforded no dignity or any respect and during a psychotic episode and 200 miles away from home where she had been an official missing person for two weeks, was encouraged to live in the town bandstand by housing officer, Sue Turner, where unfortunately she was kept as some sort of town pet. Without any protection or assistance. Shame on you! Disgusting.

Wish i could give -5 stars.
Appropriate complaint filed with relevant authority.

Always been great to me. And im talking about the council NOT Horsham like some stupid comments. I don't think the council can help how a town looks. All these reviews have nothing to do with the actual building and people there. Idiots. Review your opinion on the service when you went to the building, not about your bins or the town. Stupid reviews misleading people. Always had meeting there, always on time and the people who work there seem very friendly. Wish Google would delete some pointless reviews. "I lost my cat, all Horsham's fault" blah blah blah. Try living in Croydon and you might wake up a bit.

Very disappointed that I was charged for a smaller recycling bin having found the larger one too difficult to get down my side access. My last council did not charge for any sized recycling bins! Also I have to dispose of the old bin myself because the council won't recycle it. Got told people want new bins, so someone who wants a bigger bin has to pay for it, even though I have one I don't want. Not sure of the logic there (clues in the word....RECYCLE) Anyone want a 240L recycling bin?

Hope HDC start a waste food collection (not all food can be composted as they suggest) Expect you will be charged for the bins though!!

An awful Town to live in. Parking a nightmare. Roads atrocious. Council tax ridiculously high. And worst of all trying to speak to the Council themselves is a joke. Non of the departments you speak to has a clue about what you are talking about and all wants to pass your message on. Shame on you HDC

I wish I could give more but having lived in the centre of Horsham for over 3 years now am unable to get a 2nd parking permit for zone A. My son gets parking tickets while he simply tries to get his 18 month old in from the car and find a visitors parking ticket. It's just not right when I know friends who can park outside my house with a zone A parking permit just from working for a company in the town ! It's outrageous that companies get permits ahead of residents. I am now trying to call to buy more visitors permits as I cannot visit the offices but unable to get through. This is likely to mean another parking ticket for my son who lives with me and cannot afford to keep getting fined ! Parking needs to be sorted. As a local estate agent I would not recommend people moving to a zone A address which doesn't have parking.

Very unfair with council tax (which is far overpriced for the standard of the area)!!! I moved from a rented place to another rented place around Horsham, had a month overlap in tenancies and have to pay a month of council tax for a place I wasn't living in!! I can understand not wanting properties to be empty, but why I am being punished for finding a place I like!! As a 'generation renter' this is just another thing that slows down my ability to save for a place of my own! Never had this with any other council! Not well though out at all, should charge after 3 months like the gentleman above suggested.

Had assisted bin collection for years, due to health reasons.
My bins are now full to brim as haven't been emptied again today or last collection. I thought was just catching up from Xmas.

Rang to ask why not emptied and told assisted collection had been stopped. No letter, warning. NOTHING.
Now have to re apply for assisted collection and new stickers, yet my situation is the same.

Also appalled at the housing list system. Band B WILL NEVER GET HOUSED WHILE NEW PEOPLE ARE CONSTANTLY ADDED TO BAND A, DESPITE DOCTORS LETTERS OF HOW THE SITUATION IS AFFECTING HEALTH.
Unless, you're working, on ESA or know how to fiddle you'll never get housed!

Bloody disgrace

Residents of Springfield Park will have to suffer ...

Residents of Springfield Park will have to suffer 10 hours of rock music again this June as Horsham Council has no care for elderly residents who live opposite the park. Despite contacting local councillor its still going ahead and was told "the noise depends on which way the wind is blowing"
