An impressive horseback ride through incredible places. Without having any experience you can take a horse ride without problem. Emma puts a lot of facilities for the activity to develop with total ease and enjoy a pleasant walk! Thanks Emma!!
I come up to Paihia for the long weekend. I have been here a few times so wanted to try a different activity i have not done before and glad I chose to do this.
We decided on the forest and hillside trek and the horse i rode was Andy.
Our guide was called Lizzie who was very knowledgeable and made us feel very welcome. We were taken to an area of Waitangi that i have not been to before to see Paihia with a new set of eyes.
We had a brilliant time and I would highly recommend trying this out if your in the area.
Booking made well in advance. Received e-mail advising of cancellation an hour prior to ride time, but unfortunately due to poor phone signal, we didn't get the message until we'd turned up. Emma advised ill health was the reason for cancellation.
Had a lovely time with Oscar (my horse) seeing the views, cantering up the hill and swimming in the sea :)

A fantastic family experience that we all enjoyed. We aren't experienced riders and the staff were really kind and helpful, especially with our children. The boys have already asked if we can book to come and do the longer ride next time we're in the area!

I can only fully agree with the old review by Woki! Emma was a great guide, and my horse Ace was great too! All horses were well mannered and well taken care of. We did the "ride and swim" which was beyond amazing. Compared to another horse trek I did here in NZ, this was top class. Would definitely recommend this trek both to beginners and experienced riders. :)
This was an adventure, very good and friendly guids and houses. I did some riding previously but the swimming with the house was amazing. Will take you up on the work offer one day

A unique experience with perfect care and extremely nice company. We fell in love with Duskin, Houdini and our escort Elisabeth. We were even picked up in Paihia and dropped off at the jetty for tenders. The agreement and support online in advance was perfect. When I come back next time I'll ride safely through the beautiful forest and along the coast.

Lovely guide who was accommodating to a novice like me. Quite hard to find entrance but Google Maps has it correct.
Enjoyed the ride today! All 3 ladies are amazing and very helpful. They will sit you on a horse suitable to your weight and experience. We were in a group of 5 and did the scenic track. Recommended.
I had a fantastic time riding with Horse Trek n. We rode along the Waitangi treaty grounds taking in the amazing views of the bay and through the forest. The best bit was getting to ride the horses bareback into the ocean! Defiantly a must do experience!

Service was really friendly and the horses in excellent condition. Great ride through the woodland with an experienced group with lots of opportunities to pick up the page and a long gallop stretch. Would recommend!
Having booked and paid for a 1 hr trek, we were back at the stables within 40 mins. The guide said timings were approximate!! I do not consider 40 mins and 60 mins in any way approximate!! Then she said it was because we did some trotting! All 3 mins of it!! Also having put on her helmet, she must have "forgottten" her horse!!. She walked in front of us throughout. Such a rip-off! First -- and LAST visit!
Cruel and demeaning, one horse in particular didn't want to be in the water and threw a rider off multiple times, the horse received multiple punches to the neck in retaliation from the employee well as being wacked with a thick rope to the neck for not complying. It was later revealed by another employee that the particular horse needed a chiropractor as there was something wrong with it that might be contributing to its behaviour. Confusing as to why this horse was allowed to be ridden by complete amateur riders when it was going to behave in such a wild and dangerous manner. Although it was a scenic ride for part off the journey, it was in general boring, cruel and demeaning to the animals and only left me feeling very sorry for them. Pricey for the poor experience, wouldn't recommend.
Lizzy took us on our 1 hour trip! She was super nice and kind, giving us each appropriate horses. She explained the instructions very well, and it was good to see that the horses seemed well looked after, she knew each individual horse by name and personality as well. Good for beginners!
One of the best experiences I've made in NZ! Emma is the best and also the other staff (Alex & Lizzy) are sooo friendly and obliging! I highly recommend the swimming with the horses, a unique ride which I've never done or seen before! Also they treat the horses with respect and don't force them to do something, they don't want - and they enjoy the swimming really much too! 3 of 2 thumbs up!! Cheers, also to my pal Oscar, one of the most honest and nicest horses I've ever been ridden in my life!!
