Today I had to visit the Horry County Sheriff's Office, where I was blown away by the Professionalism that I encountered the moment I enter, greeted by everyone with a sincere smile and a "how can I help you attitude" I was greeted and welcomed to his county, by Sheriff Thompson himself, he made me feel at ease, instead as in most Departments around our nation where you'r treated or assumed an intruder the moment you enter! Kudos to the Horry County Sheriff's Office,Deputies & Staff for going that extra mile to shine, specially during times like these when law enforcement is viewed negatively by many! be safe..

Why are the two individuals who were entrusted with the lives of two ladies during a hurricane still employed? I understand they are on administrative leave WITH PAY but what about the grieving families? They are not getting paid to miss work to plan and attend funerals which should have been avoided. How do you justify the fact that the deputies went around barricades which were in place and, when their van became stuck and began to fill with water, climbed to the top of the van where they were rescued and these ladies were not? They were sworn to "Protect and Serve" the citizens but if this is an example of this I, and I'm sure many other citizens, would rather be left to our own resources. I truly do not understand how anyone could climb to the top of a vehicle, while listening to the screams and pleading of two innocent individuals, to save themselves. Thankfully, I realize that these two "officers" are not indicative of your entire force. Or at least I would hope not but can we be sure? Can we be assured that justice will be served? There are two sets of children who have been left motherless, parents who've buried their children, and that's something that should never happen, and siblings with nothing left except memories because you have COWARDS in your employ. The past cannot be changed at this point. But could we expect the questions these families have to be answered in a timely manner? Can we expect justice to be done for Nikki Green and Wendy Newton? The Horry County Sheriff's Department has the attention of the nation right now. Will it continue the direction it's going, or will it take measures to redeem itself? We're waiting.

Why are Josh Bishop and Stephen Flood not FIRED? They killed 2 women. The KNOWINGLY drove into flooded waters. They are supposed to be trained professionals. They RECKLESSLY ENDANGERED the lives of the two women who they were to protect. Those are the facts. Horry County Sheriff Department: You can try to spin it however you want to try and protect "your boys" (which is pathetic!), but the facts still remain.
They are a disgrace to the badge. They saved themselves and 2 women drowned. Every moment that they are still employed in Horry County you are tarnishing the image of Law Enforcement and that is NOT FAIR to the hundreds of courageous, hard-working, dedicated, and worthy officers in this County! Cowards don't deserve to wear the badge!

Sheriff Thompson has been the best sheriff this county has had in a long time! Thankful to be able to know him and know many of the men and women in his office! HCSO is top notch!

This Sheriff's Office has placed two deputies on administrative leave for the death of two women. These men went around a barricade on a flooded road and have given no reason to the families on way they did this or why the gave up on helping these two women get out of the van. Theses ladies were seeking help for mental health issues and these men were suppose to help get these ladies to the professionals that could help them, instead they ended up dead in the back of a van caged up like animals. These ladies were not criminals and should have been treated with kindness and compassion,instead of being pulled from flood waters day's later dead. These men need to pay for what they did and these families deserve answers to the questions they have. Justice needs to happen so these families and victims can have some peace in this senseless crime.
