Very poor management. I am sure the employees can only do so much to get loads in and out. Can't blame the low man on the totem pole for doing what and how they are told to do. 8am appt, here on time, started unload at 11:36, still unloading at 14:00. They must be packaging and labeling each pallet of bacon, before they unload the next.

As a truck driver, had a 7am appointment, load was not ready sat for hours waiting for them to be done. They knew it was going to take so long that they recommend going to a truck stop of grounds to wait.

With the money you make with that company it looks like you could afford to pave the lot that the trucks are parked on instead of large amounts of water and mud. Otherwise the people were nice and helpful but the little security guard in the pick up truck needs to be more friendly and be more patient with drivers trying to back in .

My appt at this dump was 1500 on 07/05. It smells worse than a cow pasture.
Showed up @ 1430 to check in. No overnite parking, and they do their best to run you out hours.
Don't worry about getting loaded. If 1st shift can't get it done, 2nd or 3rd shift will. 3:15 minutes to get loaded. They have a scale that you have to pay to use even though it's their fault they overloaded you. They get 1 star from me.

Appointment was set for 10pm(12/10)since last night, checked in at 8:45(12/10)yesterday, was told to go park and will call. Received call at about 12:45(12/11)today, and just about berely finished loading me at about 5:30 pm (12/11) avoid this place nearly 20+ hours just to get loaded at this facility! Nonsense.

Pretty quick for me but as it should since we do drop and hooks!

Overall a decent experience. They have a very strict process but it is very easy to follow. No onsite parking even if you are waiting to get a dock! They have a 'call list' and then send you off the property... I hear their live unload is a pain.

They have a scale onsite that is $5 cash only unless your company has a special account with them.

I feel like a ghost. I had a 1300 appointment and waited in the truck for 4 hours for them to call me. Go to the guard shack and find out there was a shift change and they didnt even tell the night crew I was here. They assign me to a door. There is already a trailer in the door. 30 min later trailers still there, I walk back to the guard shack and they find out no one was told to move the trailer. Someone moves the trailer I back into the door. 3 hours later I'm still in this door and my product hasnt even been paletized yet. I go inside and ask WTF? He says sorry, we are days behind. Help these people get caught up by not doing business with them.

Waste of time. Call you with a Dock Assignment and 1 hr later there's STILL a trailer in the dock that I was assigned. The SAD part is it's ONLY a partial load. 1 Star is WAY TO GOOD of a review of this place

Had 05:00 apt showed up night before at 19:00 and was able to check in. They give you the option of dropping your trailer or staying with it. I dropped it and got the call at midnight saying it was loaded! Reefers use far westerly entrance off Hormel Dr, 1st guard shack takes Trk Trl info then you pull up to 1st stop sign PARK and walk into shipping guard shack to check in. You can park outside of entrance in what looks like an empty lot or go to Quick Trip around the corner. Was able to creep from hormel to the Qtrip without setting off elog!

Updated: Hormel ask Truck drivers to use exit 179 to enter and leave the facility. Photo of map included with the new directions to factory.

Very easy to get to. Factory is right off interstate 90 exit 178B.
Truckers will need to follow signs all the way to the back end of the factory and enter off of Hormel Dr.
You will be signed in at first guard gate, then proceed to next guard gate. Stop at stop sign and walk into the brown guard house/dispatch building. The truckers entrance is to the left, clearly marked truckers entrance. Tanker drivers check in at window to the right. Pick up and delivery drivers check in at window to the left. Again signs clearly stating what to do.
There is no parking at facility if your load is not ready.
You have a Kwik Trip stop at exit 179 or you can go 15 miles west and park at the Petro or Loves in Albert Lea, i35 exit 11.
Security at brown building will advise you the status of your load when checking in.
You must have a six digit pickup number, currently beginning with an 8 when this was posted.
