I think that this monument represents a struggle that in my opinion should have ended a long time ago. Thanks to people with different mentalities, sexuality, love, race etc other people can move forward.
Thanks to all who did and do and will continue to make these changes in the minds of others.

Actually I use to go some times per year because they use to make different activities across the year. If you don't pay attention maybe you can't see it because the big pink triangle is only represented by the three corners so, pay attention

I was expecting something more visually attractive, as this small monument is easy to pass by without giving it a moment of thought, one of the most important ends of any monument.

The idea of having a monument to let people know how difficult it has been and it sometimes is to enjoy your human rights when your sexual preference or identity is other than the one you are suppossed to have is great, but I think it was poorly executed.

Many cities around the world could follow Amsterdam's lead and create their own homomonuments to make locals and tourists aware of the rights earned by the LBGTI community, and the abuses they still have to face.

This was a sad and introspective moment. A modest, quiet and respectful place for all the LGBT who have died because of their sexual orientation. It was the first of its kind and proves how advanced this city still is on this matter.

Seeing this monument is so emotional... Since we know what people just like you and me lived just because they had an invisible difference since they were born, you can't be insensitive while seeing this tribute. This is the only monument that was built for them, and Amsterdam should be prouder of this and give it move visibility. We heard a lot about Jewish people and gypsies but we often forget that there are also other kind of people just like gay people who were persecuted.
Very emotional. Even if you're straight, you can't come there without paying tribute to thousands of gay prisonners who died during the WWII

Go ahead my thanks for making a monument to people who have suffered because of their sexual orientation ... but this tribute is so conceptual that it goes completely unnoticed. I would hang a photo ... But I do not know what!

A small and understated public monument set into the ground and commemorating those persecuted for their homosexuality. The triangle is easy to miss unless you re looking for it. As an LGBT traveler, I decided to stop by while in the area. It takes all of 2 minutes to take in, but worth a walk by if LGBT history is important to you and you re in the area. It s just a block from the Anne Frank Museum and in the trendy Jordaan neighborhood, so walk by if you re over that way.

The monument to the victims of sexual persecution

The monument to the victims of sexual persecution

I have been to see this monument with my girlfriend during our vacation in Amsterdam. It is a stairway overlooking a city canal. Everyone can climb, descend and sit on these steps. The memorial reminds all those who have been victims of sexual discrimination, a topic that is unfortunately still very current.
