Nobody sees it, you don't notice it in any way with the result that people walk on it. Terrible

Monument dedicated to all the men and women who were and continue to be persecuted by homophobia and transphobia. The three triangles represent past, present and future. A very beautiful memorial place.
Brave at the time of creation and still necessary. Copying in other countries is strongly recommended - including Germany!
It's a small monumentand easy to find. There were a lot of flowers placed on the platform. Also a small stand near here selling LGBT items. We purchased a matching rainbow glove, hat, beanie set.
Well we are not very impressed!
There are still flowers from the opening, it seems ...!
The Homonument is an important monument situated on the Westermarkt in the municipality of Amsterdam.
An important text can be read on the Homomonument, namely: 'Such an endless longing for friendship'. Respect, tolerance and acceptance of 'differently grounded' people is now more important than ever!
I had a hard time finding it, despite being there. I think they should post a review to understand what this important icon is about and how it is composed.
The monument is in the immediate vicinity of the Anne Frank House. Since we still had some time, we looked at this environment and then came across this important monument.
In the direction of the street there was also a small table explaining why this form was chosen for the monument.
Because it is the first memorial of the gay deportation during the World War II erected to the world.
If you are LGBTQI or whatever sexual orientation or gender identity, a trip to Amsterdam's Homomonument is certainly worth your while. Consisting of three pinkish shiny stone triangles representing the past, present and future, the monument More
It is great to see that a monument is part of the area and that people assume that it is.
Monument near the house of Anne Frank in memory of homosexual people victims of Nazism
The monument speaks for itself. Only in Amsterdam. Visit.
Important that this monument is there, nothing is more beautiful than love!
You can visit this place by boat for tourism and can buy boat tickets from it
Very special monument consisting of 3 triangles spread over a few meters. Take a picture of one of the triangles on the water. The artist does not clearly tell what is meant by the 3 triangles.
The marble is beautiful
Do you know where the pink triangle found it's origine?
For being such a symbolic place, the monument is nothing more than a ceramic triangle on the floor in the middle of the street, without a plaque or sign that distinguishes it.
Precioooooooo and the people of the tour ENCSNTADORAS and muuy entertained !!!!!
It is very well designed as a triangle shaped monument at the center of the city. One points towards the National War Memorial on Dam Square. One points towards the house of Anne Frank. Other one points towards the headquarters of COC Nederlands.
Fine monument for a good cause. But not very beautiful or see worthy on itself.
It is a bit disappointing. I thought it was a bit boring.
Perhaps if there are flowers that look better.
Monument that if you are not looking for it, you do not see it. It's pink marble at different scales, maybe something more pointed and still it's little
This monument is a bit difficult to determine its location, mainly because of the many people sitting on the raised triangle as a bench. The monument consists of three triangles forming a larger triangle. The information panel, as well as the third triangle are on the canal side of the square, facing away from Nieuwe Kerk
The design of this gesture is tasteful and romantic.
Horrible. Of all those proposed ... was this the best and most significant ??? Boooo! And then create a memorial to let people walk over the carelessly of what they're trampling on ... it doesn't make much sense.
Beautiful location, this year is 30 years old! Often nice performances, such as the drag queen Olympics, and this year the start of the pride walk.
Beautiful place of reflection
Not very visible but on the merit of existing
In every city of our western world there should be one.
Remember and Fight
a great spot to celebrate gaypride and kingsday with dj's outdoors. BYO
It is great that it is possible for a group that is still threatened with death in certain parts of the world to have their own monument here.
Unfortunately, tolerance also seems to be decreasing here and there
How many cities in the world have a homomonument ? Just go there.
When you think of a monument, this is probably not the first thing that comes to mind. Maybe it is a bit disappointing ... I didn't even know what it used to be, but that (old) pink stone in the water: that's it. Still 3 stars, because I am proud that Amsterdam has a gay monument.
Difficult to find, 50 meters from the Anne Frank house.
Deceptively larger than expected. Judging from the reviews on here I thought it was only one triangle, but after speaking to the guy running the Pink Point (the tiny shop situated just across from the monument on the square), it s actually 3 triangles rather than just 1. The one that everyone spots is the one that juts out into the water, which represents the present and faces the National War Memorial. The second one s sticking up above the footpath not far away and represents the future, and is pointed at the COC building. The last one, which I didn t initially spot, is built into the cobblestones, representing the past and pointing at the Anne Frank House.
Nice hidden gem in Amsterdam. The triangle on the canal, which has a set of steps leading to the water where floral wreaths are frequently laid, there is a triangle on land 60 cm high and a memorial triangle at street level. The three triangles each measuring 10 meters (30 ft) on each side together form a larger triangle connected on each side by a thin row of pink granite bricks. This larger triangle measures 36 meters on each side.
The alignments of the three points of the larger triangle are symbolic. One points towards the National War Memorial on Dam Square. One points towards the house of Anne Frank, a Jewish girl who was deported to her death by the Nazis. The third points towards the headquarters of COC Nederland, the Dutch gay rights group founded in 1946, making it the oldest continuously operating gay and lesbian organisation in the world.
A special place on a beautiful spot in Amsterdam. A place to party on Kingsday and Pride, a place to commemorate on other days. A place that propagates tolerance and acceptance.
The homomonument is a memorial in the historical center of Amsterdam, built in memory of all gays and lesbians who were oppressed and persecuted because of their sexual orientation.
