Worst property management we have ever dealt with....

Worst property management we have ever dealt with.
Didn't give us a right to our move out inspection. Kept putting it off every time we asked.
They then asked us to just hide our house key when we had to finally move. After all of that they proceeded to keep all of our deposit, even though the homeowner made $29,000 off us for a year ( the house was paid off ).

Shady. Unprofessional. Greedy.

Rent from them at your own risk.

If I could give a zero I would. The worse company I have ever dealed with when it comes to moving out. They never called us for the inspection. I called and never received a phone call when i called they said its because someone quit. So because someone quit its ok not to set something up. I told her ok and waited 7 days later my husband calls. He spoke to Carmen she said sorry and met us that same day. But Carmen forgot about our appointment we were waiting at the property for her. She was going to be 2 hours late. We still had a positive attitude even with her forgetting the appointment. She came and said everything looked good to just touch up the paint that they didn't even leave any paint so we could know the color. We had to find out the color yourself. She said she was trying to find out the color. But I am sure she lied to us because turns out the carpet wasnt good like she said and they charged $110. She told us if there was something wrong with the carpet they would call us so we can fix it...all lies. Not a trustworthy company. They will jump for you to show you a house of take your application but that's it. We added blinds to this house and kept it up nice. None of that mattered because they are charging us for the baseboards, adjusting the screen door, 2 new pull strings for the ceiling fan, hole in the screen, light bulb in the kitchen, also light bulbs in the master bedroom etc. We never pulled the ceiling fan strings it was like that we replaced all the light bulbs. The master bedroom doesn't even had a light. They even said the carpet needed to be cleaned again and the house. Taking half the deposit.Very unprofessional. Weird to me because we moved April 7th and they but it online avail April 10th. Just looked online and the property isn't even for rent anymore. It took them 21 days to give us the deposit. But they messed up on that too because they emailed us that they are charging us for the carpet. So it looks like we are getting half the deposit. I would love Carmen to call me to explain all this or someone higher then her. Because she knows they didn't even do things the right way with this move out from the begininng. Saying sorry and apologizing will not change these charges. You need to look at the pictures of the ceiling fan not having the strings in the first place and the hole in the screen also the light bulbs. Never use this company!

Honestly, this was one of the best experiences I've had with any company, ever. From beginning to end, my responsibilities for renting my house out for a year were precisely nothing - they did EVERYTHING. Property assessment, professional photos, showings, inspections, tenant reviews, and placing a great tenant in my house took two weeks total. During the year it was rented, the tenant took great care of my house and HomeTeam addressed every question / concern I had immediately. I primarily worked with Carmen and she is AMAZING! When I moved back into my house everything was ready FAR ahead of schedule and done well above the industry standard. Carmen and HomeTeam have my highest recommendation for property management!

I have never had such an unsatisfactory experience...

I have never had such an unsatisfactory experience as a customer in my life. We have been lied to, we have been taken advantage of. We have had a second application fee charged as a tenant naively trying to stay with the same company who did nothing but charge that app fee, no help in finding a place. Return business must not be on the mission statement for this company. 0 customer service, no sense of customer satisfaction. All I can do at this point is laugh. Its truly unbelievable. I will keep the details of the unethical practice and advice private but please do not support this company.

I've been using the Home Team since 2002 and always appreciated the knowledgeable service and quick response provided as they handled each of my two rental properties. As a homeowner I use them as a valuable resource for not only keeping my rentals rented, but also for finding home mainteneance professionals at reasonable prices whenever things need repair. I highly recommend them as a reliable, honest and trustworthy company!

I have been using HoneTeam Property Management Since 2016 and so far I have no issues as homeowner. House rented in less than two months twice. Payments on time and no issues with tenants. I do recommend this company to homeowners looking for a PM to manage their homes.

STAY AWAY!!! Houses may be nice but horrible company. I would give them 0 stars! Worse company I have ever dealt with. To make a long story short they dont take care of issues with the home that cause then to be unhabitable. Mike Cavender was my Property Manager and he got fired from this company I am assuming for the same reason, then they gave me Aaron Who was just as bad. I exercised my rights and they threaten to evict me because the home had mold, was painted on the interior with water based paint so the paint came off when i tried to clean... the fence was the main issue, the thing was falling down when i moved in and finally did. Complained multiple times and there was full access to my backyard and I expressed it to them as someone tried to break in my home. They never fixed it even after agreeing to. I finally went to legal and they informed me i could withhold the rent so i did. I got more information on my rights and now they are trying to keep my deposit and charge me two months of rent even after i gave notice. They also did pre move out inspection, never gave me the reaults until my 30 day notice expired! Crooks and poor treatment to renters! They have no care for the tenant and no concern for resolution. Many emails with no responses and no communication until you tell them you are exercising your rights and withholding rent and moving out! Horrible company

This company doesn t truly care about their customers. They re too busy with too many homes to keep up. Total waste of money! Their maintenance is a joke. Nothing gets fixed and you wind up with a huge bill. Save your time and your money and look elsewhere.

Renters Beware! Hometeam Property Management has a...

Renters Beware! Hometeam Property Management has a reputation for poor customer service and swindling renters out of their deposit. We rented a house in Point Loma for a year and a half. When we gave our notice, the so-called Property Manager, Mike Cavender(whom we only saw once when we moved in) tried to tell us we were breaking our 2-year lease. He seemed to forget we negotiated a 6 month lease from the start. After that was straightened out, we requested to do our own cleaning of the property and be present for the move-out inspection. They did not return any of our phone calls/E-mails and proceeded to fraudulently say we 'agreed' to all the things they found in the inspection that need to be repaired. I have owned and rented properties before and never in my experience have I ever come across such crooked tactics. HomeTeam Prop decided to return $1400.00 of our $2700.00 deposit, a $1,300.00 deduction from these smug individuals that think they can get away taking advantage of decent renters. This was an extreme violation and abuse of renters rights and HomeTeam Property needs to be exposed for their shady antics and immoral business management.

They charged me a $150 extra in rent on the 1st of the month. I actually started the month with a $1,100 credit to my account so why am I being charged 150 over normal rent? I have called to try to get this resolved but surprise surprise no return call, just like every other time you try to contact them. Stay away!!!!

Update: After speaking with Carmen she assured me she would remove the 150 this month....but instead Home team sent an invoice billing us more money!!!! I'm not sure if they talk to each other in the office but this is so confusing and frustrating.
