Homepolish Review

Great experience dealing with Homepolish!! First of all its a great business model, it makes resourcing and working with interior designers as easy as 1,2,3. After telling them what my needs were I was set up with Margaret. We met one on one several times at my current home and future home and communicated frequently via email. Margaret not only has wonderful taste but she returned my messages quickly, always did what she said she was going to do and regularly followed up to make sure things were going as planned. Having worked with several designers in the past i can honestly say this was one of the most positive experiences. I would recommend them to everyone!!

My entire experience with Homepolish was great from start to finish. Daphne Steinberg was the designer I wash matched with. She is soooo talented and incredible.

Daphne opened my eyes to a whole new world of interior design. The recommendations she found were unbeilable, out of this world amazing. She even found and worked with an independent carpenter to design a custom bar for us!

Some people might say they don't have extra money to pay for a designer, but Homepolish saved me THOUSANDS of dollars with their trade discount at practically every store. Homepolish actually SAVED me money in the long run, even after paying for the design service. Hiring Homeposih is a no brainer!

My new space could not look more perfect than it does after working with Daphne and Homepolish! It's draw dropping gorgeous. Truly a dream come true. I can hardly believe my eyes each time I come home! Daphne worked a miracle. She was super easy to work with, had a great personality and gave our project her full attention. She really cared.

I've recommended Homepolish and Daphne to about 7 friends and co-workers already. In fact, I just raved about her to my neighbor in my building while heading up in the elevator!

Horrible customer service, horrible work ethic.....just horrible company overall. They pitch you great ideas, mess up your home, leave it worse than when you first started and don't follow up when you try to get things fixed! If you are thinking about using them, run as far away as possible!!!!

I highly recommend this service. I also loved my designer Denise Feltham. She was amazing! I love my place now so much. She really helped me turn my house into a beautiful home and I have already been telling friends to sign up with Homepolish. I knew what I liked but I really needed help with how to put it all together and Denise did an amazing job and picked out some incredible things for me.

I have been working with Homepolish for a long time and everyone is so nice, friendly and helpful. They are truly great to work with...from everyone in the office to the designers. They are all terrific!

My partner and I hired Homepolish to help with some minor renovations and to decorate our apartment. What we thought would be a service to make our lives easier, unfortunately, turned out to be one in which we spent more time, money and energy correcting mistakes. The value proposition of using HomePolish is supposed to make home projects easier with support and expert care. Sadly, Homepolish was not there when our decorator made some costly errors including needing to do construction work twice and we can't return furniture that doesn't fit because their concierge doesn't respond. They ghosted us and left us holding the bag to clean up the mess. I would be very wary of using them given their inability to communicate or help in any way. Very frustrating!

We used Homepolish, and yes I would recommend to know who to contact in case the contractors fall apart in the last second like they did on our project. In any case, we hired some and they finished the project. My advice on online gut-wrenching , remodel= no. Way too much to tackle when its not as easy as it sounds, or looks. We would not do it again.
Their online interior design is ok. However, we rather NOT pick and choose from their furniture, or vendors as the prices and quality are way over priced and low in quality. HomePolish is a great tool, but not one for the most savvy customer. We finished out our project with another online design team .They gave us way more in terms of visualization, and picked out furniture within our budget. Our room looks amazing but not after spending a great deal of time when we didn't need to .

I loved using Homepolish to help me decorate my first home! I cannot afford to be wasteful with my money, but I still wanted a polished (but not too polished) look to my home. Also I had already made the dreaded mistake of buying things bc I saw it on pinterest, but it not working in my home...such a time/money suck!! Hours upon hours on pinterest helped me find a million things I loved, but I couldn't decide what I wanted my home to look like or how to bring my ideas together. Thankfully Homepolish is on the more reasonablly priced side of interior design, so I could hire someone to help my scattered brain! Kerry was my Homepolish guru, and she was absolutely fabulous!! Listened to what I wanted, was able to give me design in my budget but also told me when things were out of my range (which I needed), and really made my house into a home that I love!!! Ask for Kerry, if you're looking for a sweet girl, with a great eye!!

I have nothing but positive and terrific things to say about Homepolish. I had never heard of the company, but after reading many favorable reviews, I decided to give it a try. It was definitely the right decision for me! I've already gotten quite a few compliments on how much better my space looks since Heylee started working with me. I was so impressed with her suggestions on what needed to be done to achieve the look I was after. She was able to use quite a few pieces that I already owned, and sent recommendations from stores that were very fairly priced. I'm so pleased that I'm now having Homepolish help with several more rooms for me. Thank you so much Heylee and Callie!

I had an amazing experience with Homepolish and would gladly use them again! My designer's recommendations were always on the spot and she was very prompt when replying emails, tracking down delayed shipping etc. What was a huge surprise for me is that we also managed to keep the agreed time frame (which is hardly the case with such projects) as well as stayed within budget. I've had 100s of compliments for her furniture picks thus far and I expect to be receiving more, for years to come

I am very happy with the experience I had with Kevin at Homepolish. It seemed to be a good pairing and he really understood what I was looking for from the beginning. I'm very excited about our ideas and moving forward with the execution! It was well worth it to me to have his help and I will be buying more hours soon.

My experience with Homepolish and my designer William has been extremely positive. Honestly, everything worked out much better than I imagined possible. I expanded the original scope of my project a few times, to add his assistance in addressing additional areas of my home, beyond my original plan. Of course, I never worked with an interior designer before so I didn't know what to expect. I just knew that decorating is not an interest or skill I have, and get overwhelmed easily at all of the options. I am delighted with how everything in my apartment has turned out, and come together cohesively. I literally breathe a sigh of relief when I come home now. My apartment feels completely different and I absolutely love it!

The glitches I experienced during the project were minor, with some items just not fitting into my space, and needing be returned or exchanged. The Homepolish staff was helpful on those few instances where I needed a intermediary or extra help with changing an order.

At the beginning, I was feeling kind of nervous and overwhelmed at the thought of this project. William is just so easy to work with, because of his calm demeanor and patience. He made this a real collaboration with his conscientious work style, thoughtful suggestions, and was always mindful of my budget. I never felt pressured in any way during the process. He was so helpful for everything from hanging art to finding a furniture refinisher for my grandmother s bedroom set to going through innumerable fabric choices to find the right one. He was very intuitive, and with each iteration was able to suggest items that felt right and that he increasingly got me . I have really appreciated his insights, and good humor especially when after much debate on my part, I decided on his original suggestion!

Working with my Homepolish designer was easy and fun !

My husband and I loved working with Ana Claudia Schultz through Homepolish! She was professional, paid close attention and helped us think creatively about our space. We loved how Ana helped us think within our budget and gave ideas that were practical and suitable to our lifestyle as new parents. Very worthwhile!

False advertising. Go to @mommyshorts to see the horrible job they did on her apartment and didn t fix it after half a year. Very unprofessional. Didn t respond to emails and sub-contractors dropped the ball and Home Polis was just allowing that to carry on.

This company will bleed you dry and IF they finish your project it will be over budget and poorly done. They do not care about th customer, just their profit. Buyer beware!

I loved working with Katie Kennedy to redesign my studio apartment. She was professional, proactive, responsive and above all had a beautiful vision and execution for my space. She truly listened to my needs for the space and her recommendations and expertise on vendors was very well suited to my budget. We were perfectly matched from a designer/client perspective. I can't wait to see how my apartment looks with all of the pieces and design elements in place. This has been a very positive experience and I've already recommended Homepolish to a number of friends.

Homepolish is the perfect service if you want interior design help without shelling out a massive amount for a private designer or firm. I got excellent suggestions and I could trust my designer to get my vision from start to finish - now that the work is done, it looks amazing, I'm so happy with it, and I felt like I had someone there to help me get there every step of the way. Also the designer discounts are awesome. So worth the money!

Homepolish could not have done a better job with my apartment. I was clueless as to how to design my space, but Daniela (my designer - she's amazing!) immediately saw a vision and executed it perfectly, I am super excited about the results! It was a really fun, collaborative process, and I feel like I learned a lot about decorating along the way. The Homepolish support team was also extremely efficient and professional and together everyone made the process seamless, it was an all-around positive experience from start to finish. My advice would be to be very clear with your designer at the onset of the project, including your personal style, time frame, and budget - I think this really helps the process move smoothly. Would definitely use again!

Had a wonderful time working with my designer. Margo understood my vision almost immediately. She was able to source wonderful pieces and put together a wonderful design plan. Loved how everything turned out. Would definitley do this again.

Craig Zisel of Home Remedy NYC charged high end prices and delivered a low end job. A complete rip off and he is also a bully. I now have to hire someone else to repair is poor work. Whats worse is that he is that the second he got paid he disappeared. He has no integrity. DO NOT HIRE HIM.

Working with HomePolish is one of the most frustrating experiences I've ever had with a business. I feel I have been treated unfairly and that all of the reasons that HomePolish exists and promotes have not been upheld in my work with them. In short, after some very costly errors were made as a result of the decorator they connected us with, they ghosted us and gave us no offer to help or any willingness that they even cared. It is with considerable time and expense that we have had to correct errors made. Either they are understaffed, don't care or simply are hoping the problems go away.

On another note: HomePolish's promise that their buying platform streamlines things and saves you money are simply not factual: as a consumer, you can get better discounts with coupon codes and holiday sales and they don't respond when you have issues with orders. I cannot in good faith tell anyone that this is a business they should engage with.

I had the pleasure of working with Kelly on my home consultation with Homepolish. She gave me and my husband some excellent tips. She also made suggestions consistent with our tiny home budget. She was a delight and I highly recommend Kelly and Homepolish.

So sketchy. We we're matched with a sluggish and unprofessional designer who didn't seem to know how to measure or draft to scale and wouldn't take responsibility for that.

Our designer nailed our style instantly, she's been super responsive and communicative, and she totally understands (and is willing to work with) our budget limitations and existing furniture. She's absolutely wonderful! I couldn't be happier with Homepolish!

We are thrilled with the experience. It was everything we could have hoped for and more. Our designer was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and made great choices. It was a lot of fun to work with her to craft an aesthetic, and the smart pricing setup made it all the better.

Provided our "Queen Bee" with 12 photos detailing the scope of our project (major flood renovation) and explained it in great detail. She matched us with a designer who came to the house, spent an hour with us, and told us we would have a proposal the next day. Even forwarded her complete detailed measurements of all five rooms and hallways that required remodeling. You would think Home Polish would love to be involved in a project of this magnitude (insurance reimbursement of $100,000). Then today the Queen Bee writes an e-mail stating our matched designer is too busy, and asked if we would like anoither "match" in several weeks. This sets us back and was a complete waste of time. I think the idea is great, but I am beginning to wonder if you get what you pay for.

Buyer beware: from the very top of the company all the way down, there is very poor customer service and no accountability. Not to mention complete lack of oversight of subcontractors who do awful work. Homepolish was a perfect solution for me. I live in Seattle, but have a brownstone condominium unit in Brooklyn. To handle the remodel, I needed to work long distance with my designer, Maryana, much of the time. It was no problem at all! Maryana had terrific design ideas that made all the difference. I love my space!

Homepolish is such a great idea! It makes interior designer affordable and actually fun. My wife and I recently moved into a new home and had no idea where to start. We set up a consultation and got so many great ideas from our designer that we hadnt even considered. She listened to what we wanted and asked questions about our lifestyle to make sure that all of her advice was really customized for us and our budget. I cant wait to keep working with her and see how she can help us transform this space into our dream home.

Wow. We now have an incredibly stylish apartment. We couldn't have asked for a better designer or a better experience. Matthew was truly a pleasure to work with, and most importantly, our apartment looks soooo cool. Truly amazing. He took our place far beyond our expectations, and we absolutely feel like we were lucky to go with Homepolish, get him, and to now live in such a chic home. I could probably write pages and pages of how our experience was great, but I'll keep it simple.

When we initially decided to finally make our place look good, we looked around and talked to some designers who do the usual commission mode. Yikes - .so expensive and such a leap of faith. I panicked, thinking how in the world can we get a good looking place? We went to furniture stores, rug places, and design shops by ourselves and couldn't put a vision together. It had been so stressful trying to figure out how to make our place look great, but then we decided to go with Homepolish. Immediately we were at ease. It was pretty cool that they paired us with someone who really grasped our style and was able to carry it out so well. Plus he was infinitely cool and friendly and hard working. Matthew searched high and low for great pieces and appropriately advised us on what higher end pieces to invest in (yay for Eames chairs and some other DWR splurges) and where we could get by with some non-splurge items that looked fabulous. Everything works so well together, and he styled our place so amazingly. On top of it, we got discounts at several stores, which was an added bonus.

We loved the experience and we love our new home. Yay, yay, ya!

Can't say enough about how great my experience with Homepolish was! My designer was incredibly knowledgable, professional, and we had so much fun along the way. I would highly recommend them to friends and family and plan to use them for my next project as well.

I used this service twice now and will definitely use it for future projects! I had picked out most things for a remodel in my home, but needed a professional's help to make sure I was doing the right thing. Hiring a Homepolish designer for three hours was just right for me. Remodeling is expensive, so to have an actual interior designer assure me of the things I was deciding and helping with the things I wasn't sure about was invaluable. Definitely saved me from making costly mistakes.

Homepolish is a brilliant concept to bring high style design to everyone. I hired Homepolish for an entire NYC apartment remodel project, including new kitchen and bath. The process was clear and easy, and I was quickly paired up with Senior Designer Nicolette. Working with her to design my entire 2 bedroom from scratch, we covered everything from picking out new tiles to finding amazing accent pieces and wall art.

Amazingly talented designers!! I have been a HomePolish client for over 3 years and worked with them for both my office and apartment. I love everything about this company and the staff are beyond incredible. My apartment photos are about to be published in the next month or so and everyone can see for themselves! The process is easy/inexpensive and the designers have become my very good friends. They understood the different needs for both spaces and now I work and live in places that I LOVE.

I had a great experience with Homepolish and designer Audra Greenspan to help us furnish our new home. Audra has great taste and was a joy to work with!

My husband and I were very pleased with Homepolish's service. We used Homepolish when we moved into our current 2bedroom and were looking to refresh our current pieces with a few new additions. We worked with Jenny, who was great about recommending the suggested number of hours for our project. We felt that the number of hours she recommended was about the right amount. Jenny was very patient with our timeline and did a fabulous job making sure to give us at least two (and usually more) options for each new piece of furniture that we were considering. Also she was even sweet enough to organize our bookshelf when we were all done with our project.

In just one short hour, my designer gave me specific feedback that will help shape the way I decorate (i.e. use a round table - you've got lots of squares). I was curious about the effectiveness of a virtual meeting, but she totally understood my style, was professional, creative, and made suggestions I'm excited to execute. I also wondered about getting assigned a "junior" level decorator, but she knew her stuff. I highly recommend this service to anyone looking for a polish!

Not responsive following consultant visit despite repeated follow-up with designer and company. I would expect more from a service company requiring upfront payment.

Homepolish has more then exceeded our expectations. Our designer, Will went above and beyond in many instances and has made our apartment feel like home. We are so thrilled with our experience that I recommend homepolish to all my friends.

Will is not only is a great designer but he's a great person. If i have projects in the future I will 100% work with him again.

Worst customer service I ve ever experienced. I put in a request months ago and they have not responded to over 5 follow up e-mails, including the designer we were paired with... I tried calling and no one ever answered. Eventually had to give up, so disappointed.

We had a fantastic experience working with Cindy DeLuzuriaga. We hired Cindy to help style our living and dining areas, and she provided brilliant guidance in choosing window treatments, hanging a gallery wall, and advising on a few custom pieces and overall design. We love our space and are so thankful for Cindy's keen eye.

Unfortunately I have nothing positive to say about this bundling of services concept. No person seems to be directly responsible for actually doing anything other than sending emails explaining why things were screwed up, or how they would immediately remedy the situation, which rarely happened. During the period of our contract, I cannot say they delivered on time or anywhere near budget on any item. Most times, the absolute most expensive Option was suggested at many multiples of what was also available either in identical form at another vendor. Unless you have unlimited time, money and don t mind having a project drag out forever, these are not your guys. I m happy to suggest actual full service design firms. As far as we can tell, this is an accounting firm in deaguise of being a design firm on the cutting edge.

I moved to a new apartment and had to buy all new furniture, which was extremely stressful for me because interior design is not my forte and I didn't have a large budget. I knew what I liked and disliked but didn't know how to translate that into creating my new home.

I saw an article that featured Homepolish designing the workspace of a blogger/locally based entrepreneur, and I immediately wanted to sign up for the service because I loved everything in that space. I was paired with Heather, with whom I immediately connected. Heather is amazing. She really understood my taste and I loved everything she selected. I sent her pictures I had saved from Instagram and Pinterest and she knew exactly what to do, and most importantly, how to stay within my budget. I could tell how genuinely happy she was to see my home coming together, and we had a great working relationship for a year; she was extremely patient, working around my busy work schedule.

Not only is she a great designer, but she also has great energy. She's very calming, positive, and encouraging, and I really appreciated that in what could have been a very stressful process!

Homepolish is amazing! I just bought a new home and my designer took her time in giving me great advice and explaining how to fill the open space of my home with affordable yet elegant pieces. I couldn't be happier. I have received so many compliments from friends and family commenting about the cozy living room area. I plan to use HP in the future again, and I can't thank them enough.

Homepolish was a lifesaver when it came to decorating my new home! Caroline (our decorator) was incredible - completely understood our style we wanted after our very first meeting and from there was so on-point with all of her suggestions and choices. Homepolish was so simple to use and an affordable route when it came to decorating. I'd recommend their services AND Caroline over and over again.

We can't rave about Homeplish enough. We signed up after moving from Manhattan to LA and had seen three friends' apartments look awesome after using the service. We were paired with Kerry Vasquez, who is fantastic. We did a three hour session and our place looks amazing. Kerry has fantastic taste and is friendly, helpful, responsive and timely. She made a mock-up of our living room design and sent a specific item checklist of what we needed to buy for our home across our price range. She even helped us pick our our couch and rug through quick texts/emails before the big purchases. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and highly recommend her.!

Had a great experience with Nicole - she really brought her vision to life in the first visit...I could imagine it all. So of course I bought more hours! Now I have a full plan ahead of me of what to do with my space. I've been wanting to tap into some kind of interior design service for a long time but it never seemed affordable and also, difficult to find. Homepolish is easy, affordable, and down to earth. Will definitely use them again when I'm ready for the next space overhaul.

We are in the middle of our Homepolish experience and it's going amazingly well so far. From the get-go, the communication process has been extremely fast, friendly and personal. We feel so loved! And the design experience has been equally great - all of our designer's ideas are spot-on - from big items and decisions to the tiny touches - we can tell we're really being listened to and she is helping turn our current style up a notch.

The best part is how easy it's all been - we were intimidated looking for a designer online without any help - how to sort through all the options, find someone in our price range, etc. Homepolish has taken that anxiety away and the result is truly a more polished, beautiful home!

I had never hired a company like HomePolish before so I was a little hesitant but once I was contacted everything went seamlessly. The consultation put me at ease and actually got excited to begin working on my apartment.

My designer was very creative. Im not one for being able to design things or pick the right bedding, furniture or colors so I wanted to seek out help to make my home feel like a real home.

We ended up painting one of my walls a rich grey color which I would have never picked for myself but it ended up looking great and really tied the room together.

Now when I come home I fees much more welcoming, plus my girlfriend likes to spend more time at my apartment now that it actually looks put together and nice!

I had an overall very good experience with the designer, whom I should give credit for.

However, I would advise future customers be very careful in terms of using their "recommended" contractors. You need to do your own research. I have zero confidence in their recommendation system for contractors after one guy cancelled the job last minute leaving me loosing thousands of dollars (because I had to take days off work). The other contractor gave me a sky high estimate for installing light, way above other contractors in the city. So I would go with Yelp than their recommended contractors. It appears that they know very little about these contractors.

Horrible experience with a designer who made one mistake after another.

I had a great experience with my designer, Rachel Paupeck. In just one 3hr session we were able to totally switch up my layout and make it much more adult and inviting. It was just the change i was looking for and now i know what else i can add when i have more budget to finish the space off!
