I went to their ER this afternoon and I was horrified at the treatment. I was asked first of all, by the Triage Nurse why I didn't simply go to my Primary Doctor. I guess the best answer would be: "Because I enjoy visiting the ER on a Sunday afternoon!" I was there because I was in PAIN and could not wait until tomorrow. My symptoms were not at all taken seriously. Dr. Swab, the ER Dr. barely listened to my detailed explanation of my discomfort. I was told by him that no test would be preformed and it was "most likely" a migraine. Well, thank you, Dr. Swab for assuming that my health is in the best condition. I am absolutely mortified with my treatment at Holy Name, or, lack there of. Left on the gurney, alone and cold, no one asked if I needed anything or how long until I would be given anything for my discomfort. (My dogs are treated better at the Animal Medical Center in Manhattan). When you are ill, you are seeking comfort and understanding. This institution fosters employees whom are desensitized to expressions of empathy toward patients. To make matters worse, the patient next to me, with similar symptoms by the way, was waited on hand and foot. Blood tests, EKG and a blanket to boot. I am home now, still not well and having to wait until tomorrow to see my Primary Dr. I was hoping to receive complete care from Holy Name ER. Never again! I simply walked out. If you are looking for disinterested, cold, uncaring, unprofessional health care employees, this is the place for you. Thank you for the favoritism that you showed to my neighboring ER patient. It was enough to have my patron Hackensack and Valley for as long as I am an NJ resident. Holy Name - NEVER AGAIN!!!
