Holiday Inn Swiss Cottage (London) Review

The fixtures were a bit worn out. The room was cold and a bit smelly. The reception and bar staff were friendly and helpful. I had a burger and it was great. Great WiFi.

Can I just say that the nearest station is Finchley Road
NOT Swiss Cottage which everyone assumes

Used this hotel a few times, lovely service from staff, and great price for convienient location

Even if we only stayed one night, we were thrilled. We had two really nice rooms, all very clean, really good value for money. Very nice staff and a great breakfast included. Parking at the hotel in the yard and we were allowed to leave our car there even longer, as we had checked in. The bus to the city stops right outside the door! A smooth one compared to the same Preiskathegorie of other hotels! We will be back !!!
It was the best I've ever had in London. We were only there - had two rooms, which were very comfortable and clean. The stuff was very friendly and the parking place behind the hotel. The breakfast was wonderful and we were able to leave the car a bit longer than we had checked in the hotel. Thank you so much, we will definetly come back!

Staff really good and helpful! Rooms traditional as holiday inn, good position. I don't like chain breakfast but it's ok. Rate reasonable considering the position. Parking 20 pounds

Advertised incorrect information e.g. smoker room. When arrived at hotel I was told that they changed the policy about smoker room however advertised that on the website. Rude staff workers. The 1 double room I booked were two beds pushed together which made my husband & I very uncomfortable.

The room was not very big but it was clean and had everything we needed except for plugs, we could only find two. The breakfast was very good with loads of it and decent coffee. The staff were all friendly and very helpful. A couple of minutes from bus and tube stops to the city and Stansted Airport very convenient, will definitely return next time I'm in London.

Family room for 4 at a competitive price given the convenience of transport. Only downside uncomfortable sofa bed with very soft mattress. Good and abundant breakfast

Brilliant location for concert at Wembley , one stop on met. Line. Room excellent all we needed. Breakfast was busy and they struggled to cope keeping up with cutlery, cups etc. But plenty of food on offer and good quality. Really happy would stay again.

This is my hotel of choice for my stays in the capital. Rooms are clean and modern, a kettle is available to make a decent cup of tea (or coffee, for those with a taste for that), and service is excellent. The staff is cordial and kind, in fact their professional attitude and kindness, together with fair room pricing, are the main reasons inducing me to choose this hotel over other options. One thing that could and should be improved is the breakfast choice, a wee bit on the not-so-broad side of the spectrum. The general impression remains however very good

Fantastic hotel with an absolutely great team of staff. Was welcomed by a young lad who was very attentive and friendly, helped us pick somewhere for dinner and travel advice to Wembley Park and the proceeded to upgrade us as well. He was fantastic helping us and could not commend him enough (I believe his name was Luke? We stayed Sunday 17th June). Really impressed by the team and how helpful they were. Breakfast was plentiful and hot and had many options. Overall visit was really great, no sleep issues or noise problems and again staff were really great.

Very clean, nice staff and helpful maid service, close to Waitrose and Finchley Road Tube station, Central London just a few Tube stops away, great value. Wonderful breakfast. Stayed there for seven days and no complaints. Ask for a room in the back of the hotel as there is a lot of traffic on Finchley Road.

Can't say that this was particularly luxurious stay. Shabby hotel were unfriendly and unsmiling personally wouldn't stay here again

Very friendly staff and always available for any request. Room for a family of four a little too small.

On the whole, this fits in quite well. Rooms are ok, it is clean and tidy, breakfast is rich for English standards. The rooms are very well insulated, you can hear nothing from the street !!! The only drawback, our window did not open.

Stuff is super good, food ok, but hotel itself needs urgent refurbishment.

Nice hotel in good location. Small two persons rooms, very noisy in the front. We asked to change to a quiet room in the
back and they did it kindly and smoothly.

Hotel staff are great, luke on reception in particular. When I got to the room there was a fan... A clear warning the aircon is not working... However, no one mentioned this, a pre warning would of been welcomed. The room was abit tired but OK and the bed bumpy, I'm assuming no mattress topper, overall though nothing too sinister.

Good hotel, well located near Finchley Road tube station and Finchley Road and Frogal overground. A typical Holiday Inn Express with clean comfortable rooms and free breakfast. I have stayed a number of times and have always found the service excellent, especially at reception. Only slight niggle is that the breakfast buffet is in a small room off the main dining area and can get cramped at busy times.

Hotel very welcoming..clean rooms ... very kind and extremely helpful staff ..... abundant and varied breakfast served in a beautiful room .... linen change every day ....... highly recommended ..... 150 meters to the subway ...... very close shopping center and refreshment points .......

Good location 5 minutes from the nearest tube station. Room and hotel facilities were great and also very clean. Staff were super and helpful. Would stay here again.

Swapped the first room because there was probably leakage in the toilet. There was a very dirty puddle of moisture.
Dated, terribly outdated bed, lying potholes and with every movement you hear the springs. I'm going home with a backache. The carpet in the hallway and in the room is very outdated, full of stains and scuffs. Room on a busy road is very noisy. Breakfast bad, egg tastes like water. Coffee is dirty.
This is never again for me.
They probably know this themselves because when they check out they don't ask everything was satisfactory.

Hotel in a fantastic location, very clean and very friendly, professional and helpful staff.

Has a car park... But only for the brave and for those who book it in advance. If you do, this is a fine location for gigs at Wembley Stadium.

What a wonderful, peaceful, and hospitable hotel! I had the pleasure of staying many days. From the first day, the staff was phenomenonal and very friendly. Even Chef Ysabel was extremely helpful in setting up my business Afternoon Tea. I can tell they are compassionate about their customers. Most definitely would stay there again.

Cheap for a London budget, but out of the way with mediocre comfort. There's a shopping center just across the road with a lot of food options.

I was there last week and I found myself very well, nice environment. The small but very welcoming lobby. The Italian speaking staff is very professional, kind and helpful. To recommend

Staff were great but rooms are poor standard and general facilities are not the best.

I had to drop off a vehr drunk damsel-in-distress here. We couldn't get through the door, which I at first put down to the drunkard but in the end it was one of those reception controlled switches where you have to convince the staff with plaintive facial expressions that you are legit. In the end they were ok, although when they realised I had few options, they charged me top dollar.

Apparently the room was freezing, the heating didn't work and the breakfast was terrible. No good deed goes unpunished, eh?

Good place to be inLondon. Close to tube and bas stations. Comfortable rooms and nice service. Fine brakefast serving every morning. It was nice staying. Surely I would come back.

Location is great, right next to Finchley road tube station and has a shopping centre across the road. We had fantastic, personable service here and would definitely stay again. One thing I would improve would be the quality of choice at breakfast.

Location is short walk from tube station. Couldn't adjust the heat in the room, there was a sign to call down to the front desk. No USB outlets - you'll need a travel adapter. Bed was ok. Sofa bed was very uncomfortable. Staff was nice.

Overall, the place is clean and staff is polite. However, booking record is confusing. House keeping is not up to standard too. For instance, they don't replace towels, disposable cups, bath gel and hand wash often, rather messy. Unless you deliberately leave message in front desk , house keeping will follow instructions.
Breakfast is very good. A cosy place for this price.

Very unfriendly staff at the front desk. Room in the ground floor small, musty and with bath with shower curtain. Breakfast not very good. Staff with a few customers already overwhelmed and unprofessional. Bar closes at 23.00. Not recommended!!!

I was given a twin room instead of a double room. This was quickly rectified. Bed was quite uncomfortable compared to other IHG properties. Breakfast was good but too busy and understaffed.

Hotel complete in every sense ... Friendliness, availability, beauty and cleanliness ... Located a stone's throw from the subway and from the center ... Reception at the height of the languages ... I wouldn't change with any other chain ...

I warn against this hotel. We discovered a beard in the hotel room, and when we confronted the hotel about it, they did nothing for us. They said they were fully booked and had no new rooms for us. For us, the whole stay brought a lot of control. We had to put out all the luggage, and shake all the clothes on returning home. In retrospect, the hotel has said that such insects do not exist with them, and that they must have come to the hotel room with luggage.

Surprising value for money and location in an area of London that is to be discovered, outside the "usual" tour but full of ideas. The room was very pleasant and clean, the availability at the reception excellent. Excellent connections with public transport. I believe I will be back.

Staff are super friendly, hotel is clean but could do with a bit of a spruce up. Its as quiet as it can be for the middle of a city. Breakfast is lovely.

Only a couple of minutes from the tube station, great location. Clean rooms, great breakfast on offer & friendly helpful staff. The pull out bed was extremely uncomfortable though, and we needed to put the mattress on the floor instead.

Ok hotel except bedding.
The family room is actually a double room with a sofa bed in very bad condition. The room is definitely too small for 4 people!

Nice atmosphere and very friendly staff. Me and my companion enjoyed our visit. Would definitely visit again. Good location. Closer to the Vue cinema. Highly recommended

Great hotel good transport links and for London standards super clean. Nice reception. Breakfast took some getting used to as only English breakfast but everything was fresh and good.

Great location if visiting London from North. Located right next to a tube station. 10 mins and your by all the sights and attractions by the Thames. Front facing rooms can be a little noisey as it is on a busy road. Staff a very polite and helpful. Decent free breakfast. Free Wifi.

Good hotel and good location next to the mall and the tube

Correct hotel, well located in London, with 3 metro / overground stations very close that make it very well connected.
Breakfast buffet quite complete and sufficient.
I recommend this hotel for your visits to the city.

They accept reservation for one room for four persons by the IHG app. When we arrived to the hotel, no room was available... and try to sell 2 rooms, paying 2 rooms (the double). Very bad... very very bad!!!

Great breakfast, room a little cramped because the bed was so large, shower weak as was the WiFi. Very handy for Jubilee and Metropolitan lines. Cinema and shopping complex opposite and excellent charity shop next door. Stayed before, and will stay there again.

Smell bad, no mini bar, just staff is nice and location is ok also.

I am writing this review in 3 o'clock in the morning. Right, before the sunrise. The staff of this hotel are very nice. They are kind and respond to clients' needs. BUT, almost in EVERY room of this hotel has a weird tick sound, like a large water drop on the ceiling. And the sound repeats in every 30 seconds. What's worse is that the volume of the sound changes all the time. I stayed here for three nights and I have asked for changing my room in the first night but it gets worse in the second room. I have talked with other friends in this hotel. Same problem for almost everyone!! We just put on ear plugs and sometimes it does not work anymore, like right now at 3:30.
So, for anyone who is sensitive to the sounds during the night, DO NOT CHOOSE THIS HOTEL. You just don't know when the noises begin and end.
I give one star to the hotel staff. BUT, I really wonder if the hotel merits the good reviews of others.

Good connection by bus, train, and local transport if you travel anywhere in London and beyond. Clean room and bathroom.

This Hotel has very good location. First of all you can catch bus at each airport and get off in front of the hotel because there is bus station fo4 coach. Next to it is another bus station that can bring you straight to city ceter within 35 minutes. If you dont like bus you can walk aroung 5 minutes and take the metro but the total time will be also about 35 min so dont expect to go faster by metro. Additionally in front of the hotel is locate small shopping centre where you can eat different meal and make shopping in the saintsburry market. The only think that I didnt enjoy in the hotel is the breakfasts. Always the same and typicall english. In the metro area you can buy oyster card which is neccessary in London in thr moment.

Very cheap hotel. Very nice area with shopping center and restaurants nearby. The rooms are not the best because there is a large room with two beds, hence a sofa bed, the bathroom is very nice. Rich buffet breakfast with porridge, bacon, Apple juice. Recommended for those who want to visit London but don't have much money.

If you need someone to stay in the Swiss cottage/Finchley rd area, this is a nice spot. The rooms are clean, comfortable and reasonably large for a London studio. The staff are friendly and helpful and the breakfast is included but still quite good: basic hot and continental buffet. Our room also came with complimentary water. If you need provisions then there is a Salisbury across the road. The tube station is less than 5min walk away and there are buses near the door too. Euston station is only abt 15min away by tube.

In summary, very solid 3 star hotel.

Cozy city hotel, nice staff, friendly and helpful. Did my job.

Even though a card was entered for pre payment by company I still had to pay on personal card. Room was facing on to busy and noisy main road. Breakfast was very poor.
