Holiday Inn Seaport Beach IJmuiden Review

The hotel is in a good location, two minutes to the beach, ten minutes to the dog beach, where dogs can enjoy the whole year unangeleint with masters and mum holidays.
You sleep well in the box spring beds, the staff is very friendly ....
But that was already positive impressions.
The prices are sea-salted, seems to be in the sea air ....
The breakfast for 18,50 per person is not worth its price, but it is too simple knit, three types of sausage and cheese from the discounter (quality made at least such an impression) is a bit lean, no salmon or similar .... .we are on the coast !?
Although the restaurant is open until 10pm, they told us at 21.20 the kitchen was closed ...... ????

Was once a Scandic hotel ... Then it was super ... everything worked ... Now an Apollo hotel ... a different logo, different color .... but tis old .... boring. Interior old and damaged, Sauna rarely works, balcony door can not open, no explanation about heating or activities in the neighborhood, very austere breakfast at 20 per person, long waiting times at the reception, et cetera. No wonder everyone is looking for entertainment elsewhere and the hotel is a ghost town ... that owes its existence purely to its seaside location.

Good location, parking is expensive and the hotel could use a makeover ...

The room was not clean on arrival, after urging cleaning was done. Ultimately still a lot of dust and dirt. Breakfast 18 euros per person to cry, little choice, small portions, low quality. I wouldn't book here again. Real let down this hotel.

Location is a little difficult to get to, but it is not far from the highway. It is right across the street from the marina so you can see all of the boats at the harbor. The rooms were nice in size and the showers had great options.

Although the room had a balcony, but the door could not be opened from our room, from the next room but very well. Secret Escape guests obviously do not get a balcony.
Staff in the breakfast room completely unqualified.
Dirty tables, if the tables were then wiped off (after you had to ask) everything was simply wiped on the floor. The same looked accordingly. At the coffee machine again and again no spoons. If you held the empty container to the waitress, she turned away and left, the spoons were not filled up. No cloth on the bread, every guest had to touch the bread with his hands. (Hygiene 0 points)
Scrambled eggs on Easter Monday, several guests complained and in response, they had no eggs.
At the egg station many guests repeatedly tipped a loose cupboard door, which was only ajar, until it then fell on a toddler's head.
There were no ashtrays in a lounge made of wooden pallets in front of the hotel, and there were countless tipping on the floor for days. (Until we said something at the reception)
We had an in-depth talk with the reception manager, who regretted and noted everything, but all of these things must be noticed by a management.
I am convinced that we were not the only guests, with us was already a lady at the front desk to complain about the conditions.
So you have to assume that something is ignored, as well as the broken closet door.
Who gives this hotel 4 stars, I am completely mistaken.
We are mostly in 4 star hotels, but this is by far the worst.
If I take for comparison the 4 star hotel RaddisionBlue on Malta this would have 7 stars.

My very good friend and I had a reunion in Ijmuiden and one of our days was spent doing the N15 Etappe of the Nort Sea Cleanup Tour.

What a lovely surprise it was that the hotel decided to spoil us (for our charitable efforts) by upgrading us to the Superior Suite with Jacuzzi and fireplace... What??? Wow!!

Special mention to Gyon for the relaxed and friendly check in. He had a big group of Italians checking in before us, but he acknowledged us and chatted pleasantly with the group while doing all the million things receptionists do to check guests in. Payments, keys, information, all the while keeping focused on the guests and providing useful info. Well done that man!

And then that room.... Sooooo nice that we spent the whole night bathing, lounging, eating - great food delivered to our room, drinking, chilling and girly giggling in that awesome room, from which we could see Zandvoort, where we walked to earlier that day. Slept like babies too, bed is massive and very comfortable. We had a breakfast inclusive rate, which was another little fest. Suffice to say we skipped lunch that day!

A little shout out too to Simshie in the restaurant for creating a space for 4 out of nowhere (we had guests joining for b/fast). She and Mandy ran round serving everyone, and also Salem from the kitchen who kept replenishing all the food and waffle-making mix all the time.

The checkout ladies Gabrielle and Sanne where also lovely. Thank you to everyone at team IJmuiden for going the extra mile with service and hospitality.

We had a really wonderful stay and I'm sure we'll be back again in the future!

Nice hotel in a perfect location on the beach. Top breakfast and service. Rooms nice and big, but a bit older and balcony was dirty, so 4 stars

Good value for money. Great view and to Amsterdam only 20 min.

For me the hotel was not a 4-star experience and certainly not worth the money.
We just came from a modern 4-star hotel from Amsterdam, which incidentally was cheaper than the double room in the Apollo. The difference was like day & night.

Other negative points:
- rooms not clean everywhere (see pictures)
- Rooms extremely run down with stained walls, ceilings and an outdated overall impression
- 1-ply toilet paper (in a 4-star hotel?)
- no second socket on the bed (either charge your mobile phone or bedside lamp - both were not possible)
- no bottle of water in the room
- no DND hanging sign
- The balcony and mirror were not cleaned at all
- Breakfast tasty but very manageable

stayed for a weekend at Holiday Inn. In the suite with Jacuzzi with fireplace. Lovely in the jacuzzi. Unfortunately the fireplace did not work. Can happen. The Young gentleman who worked in the restaurant once created him and another lady. unfortunately he went out again and again. The young gentleman can ask again if he did it and has made new attempts. Super how he did his best. What a shame was the lady at the reception. we paid a lot of money for this room and her response was. You can also sit in the restaurant by the fireplace and your jacuzzi does it anyway. When I said we had paid a lot of money for the room. Did she want to pay for the parking costs that you still have to pay. That is 24 euros. Which were then on the bill. And according to the ladies it is possible due to the wind and we could have enjoyed the fireplace for a while. In the end the parking costs were not paid. But this was a damper on the weekend. I could get over the hearth, but I found the loving of the ladies very unfortunate. quite a Plume for the Young Lord According to my name Roderick. Super dude.

Hotel in good beach location with paid parking (day 9Euro) and well located for a city trip to Amsterdam.
The house is already a bit older but still okay for a short break. Small sauna and sports area. Standard room quite small, comfort room offers enough space. Unfortunately, no shower in the bathroom, only tub and no sockets.
Breakfast with a large and good selection, very good coffee and very friendly staff. Also very friendly Zimmerfee and nice, helpful staff at the front desk.

Great relaxed hotel right on the harbor, modern restaurant with great breakfast buffet where you can freshly press orange juice and waffles bake yourself. Lots of fresh fruit and otherwise you did not miss anything. Many coffee machines, so you hardly had to wait. The hotel is very child friendly, has a large free parking and is located directly on the beach with a beautiful promenade. We recommend!

Price quality seems reasonable. Due to late arrival can not use sauna and steam bath. No problems with other guests (noises). Annoying was that the twin beds each time pushed apart. Was no brakes on the will. Balcony was nice.

Too much money for what you get. Expensive rooms.Hotel needs an update. It is also chaotic with breakfast for the next day. Whether I have something positive .. yes, beautiful view !! And comfortable beds.

Outdated and dirty hotel. Windows haven't been cleaned for a long time, and my feet stuck to the floor, which apparently hasn't been mopped in a long time either.

Slept wonderfully. Good beds. And with your window open you can hear the sea. Very friendly and helpful. Too bad that the key card did not work twice. You should not keep this with your phone. But I will definitely come here again.

Good location, but very dated rooms, unfortunately we also had mold on the edge of the bath, so taking a bath was not really suitable. The rooms are not cleaned properly (dust on the table, bedside table, windows extremely dirty). Even after a cleaning the next day nothing has been done about this. Beds not properly made, pillows are just thrown on the bed. A positive point is breakfast. This is certainly not worth its stars!

Maybe my review is a bit biased because we were just lucky. We booked the hotel a few hours before arrival and all normal double rooms were already occupied. So we got a free upgrade to the sea view suite.

Stayed for a week and had a very relaxing holiday. The staff was always very friendly and accommodating. The beach within easy reach was very nice and not overcrowded. The numerous good restaurants in the vicinity are also recommended. From here we went on day trips to Amsterdam, Zandvoort and Scheveningen. We really enjoyed the day trip to Haarlem. In short, it was a great vacation and we would come again.

I have only been outside for the pier run. From the granddaughter of him. a girlfriend.

I just had the opportunity to stay at this hotel for two nights; it was a group trip.
The room assigned to us was spacious and clean. However, our room was not cleaned after the first night which is unacceptable for a four star.
The meals served were buffet style; It was okay but that's it.
The breakfasts were nothing fancy and the second day there weren't even any toast, there were only rolls and a few warmed pastries. The coffee was lukewarm and despite our complaints, the coffee brought in afterwards was barely hotter.
I do not think this hotel is worth four stars, far from it.

The location and view were beautiful. The lobby & the overflows also. But we had booked the very luxurious room for 2.5 days and that started very badly We were an hour early but after that hour we had to wait another 15 minutes because the room was not ready. # 2 Once in the bedroom: noisy air conditioning & fridge / curtains shabby & broken / windows were very filthy & window washers who came to clean it in between. # 3 breakfasts 2x was disastrous for the amount of 18 pp Almost everything that needed to be warm was over cooked & cold, we also had to wait a long time with the coffee (at least 5 people for you) and if you had breakfast at 10 o'clock then it was over = on "warranty".

Great stay. Very warm welcome and unexpected free upgrade. Staff could not have been more accommodating. No request was to much trouble and everyone was very friendly and professional. Fantastic ending to our holiday. Most convenient location with ferry terminal just down the road.

The breakfast service is a disaster. You stand at the coffee machine for 15 minutes because all other machines do not work. There are not enough seats. Cutlery rarely in stock. Dirty tables, very dirty under the tables. The breakfast room is very cold. The only thing I feel positive that the two chefs tried to cover up the chaos of the service.

During a two-day team building session with my company from start to finish pampered by the Apollo IJmuiden. Great room, good lunch, very friendly and attentive staff and as a little extra a fun activity on the Fort Island. Recommended!

Ministries could act more alert. Food was tasty and good. Seat fine.

Rooms modern and clean, parking directly at the house, beach within walking distance of 5 minutes, which in turn could almost as a natural beach, but for us adults it went. Children will need beach sandals when walking in the sea.

Had a TOP weekend, nice clean room, view of the dunes. The arrival with Ingrid from the reception was extremely pleasant. Very important to me that my dog was allowed to come along ... and everything had been thought of, pillow in the room, new toys and some goodies. Beach 150 meters away. For me worth repeating.

Friendly and helpful staff. We came in and were told that we had won the prizes. We were given a luxury honeymoon suite. Without paying extra, of course we were very happy about that. The room was top notch: nice view, large wonderful jacuzzi, and a fireplace. It was really enjoyment. And the food was really delicious. In short: We enjoyed!

Its very nice place for summer time.Do u have 1 bus to go to downtown if u rent a car its perfect, u can know haarlem and other cities near hear and is no far from Amsterdam.
They have good brekfast,lunch and dinner .The people who work at the hotel are very friendly and kind

Breakfast and dinner were for a 4 star hotel not in location. Everything was just standard. Free parking is not possible costs 8 per day. Outrageous

Nice hotel, friendly staff, nice location on the harbor and near the beach: if you ask the staff, you can "park" your bike inside space with paper containers

The restaurant is not recommended, the tomato soup for an exaggerated 6 is warmed tomato puree, the staff is not really motivated and can be long in coming

Despite the corona, we had a great stay at the hotel. In the evening a fine meal in the hotel restaurant. The menu was limited, but the quality of the food (duck breast and cod) was more than sufficient. Room is spacious and the mattresses are good. Lovely shower with a good jet. Breakfast was fine too.
