New Year's Eve and New Year 2017/2018
The rooms were okay, but you can't say that about the restoration or the service staff. There were an estimated 250 guests in the hotel over New Year's Eve 2017/2018.
The bar and restaurant were closed!
The catering took place on the 4th floor in a large hall. In the evenings a buffet was set up, accessible from two sides. Unfortunately, the food in the chafing dishes was lukewarm to cold. Unfortunately, there was no service staff at the buffet either, so that one in the kitchen did not notice when the chafing dishes were empty. The terse answer came from the girls who cleared away the plates they had used: It's coming. And actually after about 20 minutes, the chafing dishes were refilled. For this purpose, the lids of the chafing dishes were temporarily stored on the floor. It was a shame that you couldn't help yourself to the filled chafing dishes because there were no more plates. Here, too, a long time passed before "clean (?) Plates were taken out from under the tables from the floor on which the buffet was set up". It would have been nice if there had been a little hint about the contents next to the respective chafing dishes. Perhaps worth mentioning that there was no napkin ready to cut the whole loaf.
The breakfast was not really different from the evening buffets, only that each roll was refilled individually by hand (without gloves) in the bread basket. In addition, there were two coffee machines available for self-service - queuing. There were probably three household-size warming jugs - but not intended to be taken to the tables - but more warming jugs were only brought in after about an hour.
The New Year's Eve was then also full of non-positive surprises, which I will no longer explain in detail here.
Conclusion: In every simple pension, more attention is paid to hygiene (there are EU-uniform regulations). Totally overwhelmed chaotic service staff (and probably also the kitchen). Hence management too. Definitely not a 4-star hotel!
