Holiday Inn Seaport Beach IJmuiden Review

Lovely hotel, nice room and balcony. Staff welcoming and friendly.

Upon arrival, we were informed that an event would take place and it was not possible to make a reservation in the restaurant before 8:15 PM. They did provide alternative restaurants, but would have preferred to know this in advance because of to reserve. A lot is full.

Hotel has put up walkways and put disinfectant in the elevators.

We were in a room overlooking a lake. The room itself was fine. Bit of what you can expect from a hotel room. Windows are quite dirty, also on the inside. Plumbing and bed were fine.

There is a Bunker route in the area that you can walk for those who like this. Beautiful nature. Unfortunately the weather was bad, but we still enjoyed the walk.

When we wanted to have a beer in the bar / restaurant in the evening, there were still people from the event. To avoid the crowds, we sat at the front of the restaurant. The kitchen was supposed to be open until 10 p.m. but could no longer order around 9:30 p.m. because there had been an event and therefore the kitchen was closed. The bar was also supposed to be open until 11 p.m., but at 10:30 p.m. we were already informed that the last round had started. You get the feeling that you are being pushed away. Never experienced in hotels that the bar closes so early. And apparently a lot of people with me since they came in around this time.

Staff is quite young and you notice it. Friendly but not all equally professional.

All in all, not a very welcoming feeling.

Really nice, luxury and cheap hotel! Suitable for people who want to stay near the sea, but it's also good for tourists who want to see Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Keukenhof and other amazing spots!

Nice hotel very near the noordzee very great hotel room just a shame the lady didn t tell us with check in that they could clean the room on request.... otherwise nice hotel with sauna, small gym included. Near the hotel in the docks you have great fish places and the pier is nice to take a walk stroll on

Cozy hotel where your dog is welcome. Clean rooms! Nice walking area. And a super nice dog beach nearby! Beautiful beach bars where you can relax! Recommended!

What a nice hotel close to the beach. Nice room with seating and balcony. Beds lovely and bathroom nice and clean. Breakfast during corona in time blocks so it is not crowded at the buffet. Delicious and quiet breakfast and plenty of choice. All in all, highly recommended.

Hotel is fine, but the fruit flies around the food made it a lot less. Also the limited card was a bit of a shame.

Had an overnight stay, the room was upgraded, for free, to a suite that we were satisfied with. Friendly and helpful staff. The extensive breakfast was very good.

Truly a great hotel, for the first time actually a weekend away at a hotel, which is a bit new for all of us.

Well received, was told by phone that it was a bit difficult to promise a room with a view of the sea / harbor. But we really had a great place, it's nice that the favor factor is also present! Everything was told clearly.

Too bad we had neighbors who were partying on the balcony until 2am. We sincerely wondered why nobody actually intervened, also because we had our balcony door open, we came back and the whole room smelled of weed, and the blue smoke from the neighbors came out. It is a pity that the hotel is fairly quiet and exactly we have such neighbors, that has ruined it slightly for us.

Furthermore, the hotel was great, hope that we can come back some time and be given the rest, a bit of an unpleasant experience.

I have stayed at this beautiful hotel many times, great location, very friendly service, good rooms. We always take a standard (DeLuxe) room on the dune side. 1x to the port, but it doesn't have to be. We didn't test the 'better' rooms because of the dogs. The breakfast is sufficient, little choice of cheese, but still too much rubbish and small rubbish bins on the table would be helpful. And please, a Dutch breakfast also includes witte Bollen or Puntjes !!!! The one star deduction is also because of the very expensive breakfast! Otherwise everything is fine. Close to the beach, close to the city. I recommend buying a RegioTicket Amsterdam. The bus goes almost in front of the hotel directly to Sloterdijk, Amsterdam. You can change trains to Haarlem in Ijmuiden. Leaving your car behind pays off!

Room was ok. Location is good. Next to the beach, just a short walk. Nice view on the harbor from our room. Windows were quite dirty though, a wash wouldnt hurt. Room has everything you need, even a little fridge and all you need to make some coffee or tea. Beds are good and you can choose your pillows. We had breakfast at the hotel; its quite expensive and we needed to wait until there was a table free for us. Eventhough they have ask people to choose a time to go for breakfast, its still a bit too crowded. Breakfast is pretty standard and not worth the money. There was a huge line with people wanting to make fresh orange juice and those people blocked off the buffet with food next to it... (why dont buy a machine that does that automaticly?) Anyway, good hotel for a night of sleep. Can make some things better to improve experience. But i would sleep there again if needed. People who work there are very very kind and helpful!!

The hotel was good. In the restaurant I find the service a lot less. When asked about information about the local beer, they did not know what to say about it.

A very nice and cozy hotel, nice and close to the beach. Not super luxurious, but everything is available. Lovely hot shower in the rooms. Be careful with getting out when you have a shower. You are in a bath, and floor tiles can be slippery.

Is in a nice place. Almost on the beach and on the boulevard and marina.

Great hotel! With a sweet animal arrangement the dog can stay in the room. And there is a toy, candies and a pillow for the dog.

A hotel in a very nice location, right on the North Sea. Amsterdam is 40 minutes away by car. Great price, service was great. Environment madness.

We used the hotel as an overnight stay before our cruise from Ijmuiden. Large parking lot and overall nice location of the hotel pretty much on the beach. The bus to Amsterdam is practically on the doorstep. We had a nice room with a view of the harbor. The room was clean and spacious. The breakfast buffet was sufficient and we easily found a place.

The staff is attentive and courteous. You can save yourself the additional cost of the Meerplick. View dunes + lake or port + street (sea view) are equivalent. Above all, rooms are absolutely identical. The snack buffet with tea, coffee and biscuits is quite good.
The breakfast has room for improvement for a 4-star hotel.

Been with the children a few years ago. Beautiful family rooms with a spacious balcony. Wide choice of breakfast and helpful staff.

The only positive is that the rooms are clean, the negative is that the mattresses are mega soft, had back pain after the first night. Birgit at the front desk very rude, we had booked 4 nights, but then after 2 nights again, that we pay the rooms is clear but for 4 days parking fee pay although only 2 days there parking I find a joke, because 20 annoyed a guest who will not come back. The deluxe room did not even have a trash and no balcony although advertised. Conclusion: 120 per night + 10 parking fee per day is too expensive.

Spacious rooms, great bathroom and beautiful location.

The well-equipped hotel is located in the industrial zone of Ijmuiden. Although the view in both the front and rear rooms is not too bad. A friendly service and a good breakfast buffet. Only the location and the pay parking are negatives

The prices are okay, the service too. The decor of the rooms is very strong and anything but modern. It is advertised as a hotel for a holiday with the dog, but there is nothing for dogs, not even on the beach next to the hotel, dogs are allowed during the season and no one has heard of Kotbeuteln.

This hotel is very nice and ideally located near the cruiseport for dfds.

Hotel is a showing its age. Rooms have some practicality issues and some of the staff need hospitality training.

The payment was made through Booking.com where the 20 tourist fees are listed. Another 20 have to be paid on site. Reason could not be given? The parking lot costs a generous 10 a day and has to be shared with the beach visitors.

The hair dryer in the bathroom was broken, the rooms hadn't been cleaned for 3 days, fresh towels were only available on request.

Due to Corona, there is a long line at reception. After waiting 40 minutes they said that our room was not finished cleaning at 4 p.m. and that we should come back in 50 minutes. How well the queue went for 40 minutes, so you only have to queue again ;-)

Unfortunately, this hotel is not worth four stars.

The 2-star ONLY because of the view from the balcony ...

Beautiful location, friendly professional and very knowledgeable staff. Nice sized rooms. We enjoyed. We will definitely come back again. Thanks for the good care on behalf of the whole family (and the dog)

The location is great. The complete renovation 2015 is unfortunately not everywhere in the house to see. The bathroom could be more modern. From 30.12. until 02.01. unfortunately our bin was not emptied once. The staff is very friendly. I would prefer Zandvoort for the next time despite the good situation.

An incredible hotel. On the coast and at the marina with plenty of restaurants around, though theirs is not to be missed. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

The room was clean and very and spacious. With a balcony it opens up the room even more.

Great hotel. My room had a balcony with a really beautiful view! You looked at the harbor, a little further you saw the largest ships coming into the harbor and a little further you could even see the sea. Really pretty.
Quite noisy, especially the street side. I noticed that there was still quite a lot of car traffic in front of the hotel, I did not expect this. You can also hear the whistling of the wind very well (I thought at first that ships were honking :-)) and the tapping of the flagpoles.
Room was also fine, nice big desk to work on, kettle, bathroom with nice bath (also shower in the same bath ...) and a good bed.
Besides the beach, there is not much to do in the area, but there is a bus stop on both sides of the hotel within walking distance and you can be in IJmuiden center within 15 minutes.
The harbor and locks of IJmuiden are also worth a visit!

I have only experienced a Whiskey trade fair here and have not spent the night there, it is located almost by the sea, so you can get there by bus from Amsterdam, there is a large parking lot and it would seem nice to spend the night there and then wake up with a sea view ...... There are not many of these types of hotels, definitely worth a visit and stay.

The hotel is within walking distance of the beach in IJmuiden. In the immediate vicinity of the hotel there are many different options for good food.
The staff at the hotel speaks many different languages including German, English and Dutch.
The rooms are modernly furnished and offer reasonable comfort.
The hotel is ideal for a short break by the sea.

A very nice hotel. The staff were very nice. What positively surprised us was the fackt that we needed to copy 40 copies. Was not a problem and has about 3 minutes and not a single cent gegostet. Pluses.

In some places but you could clearly see that the house was not the newest / is ... A balcony door could not be closed if you stood on the balcony. In addition, the whole balcony was covered with dust which was not great. But by and large it was ok. Prices were not the best, but that's nothing special when it comes to measuring.

In itself great rooms. Little or no trouble with noises in the corridor or elsewhere. The breakfast however was dramatic. 80 guests on 1 clerk. Sjappoo for employee with all unsatisfied customers.

The deluxe twin room is too expensive compared to the standard room. I'm disappointed ... unfortunately. Maybe booked with the wrong provider. But still a great hotel with a good breakfast

Restaurant with a cozy atmosphere and nice staff.

After a walk on the beach, a drink and the dog inside is no problem.

I use to sleep here a lot because of work. It always had nice people at the front desk (of which most are gone now). But the quality of the restaurant and the service is poor. I have spent countless times waiting for the food that took forever while the restaurant was nearly empty. And after waiting for an hour it was often not good. Beef not cooked well, or frozen spinach, or the chicken still red inside, or you ask for salad without bacon and you get bacon etc. There were several complains and they promised us it would become better every time. But it never did. Now when I need to sleep in Ijmuiden I avoid that place and pick other hotels even if they are a lot further. The only plus is the breakfast and location.

Nice hotel in itself. Unfortunately we just got a room without a balcony while the hotel is not full but according to reception it is. Good breakfast. Bathroom very small. Bit dated but beds are good. Three stars not worth four
