Holiday Inn Express West Palm Beach, FL Review

Nice place, however I was bitten on my arm and legs by something while I was sleeping. I literally felt it biting me under my sheets. Pool was dirty

Front desk always greets with kindness and knowledge of the area. Definitely will recommend to others!!

One of the worst Holiday Inn we have stayed at. Very old, would need complete refurbishment. The swimming pool is plain horrible. The staff are not so pleasant either.

We walked in and the staff was very pleasant and informative. The niceties ended there. A piece of the tile where I was standing was missing because the hotel was being renovated. There were huge boxes on the lobby and the situation got worse from there. We walked off the elevator and I stepped on a metal piece that apparently a worker had left in the middle of the job, as his or her glove was on the floor as well. The hallway carpet was in the process of being ripped up at 2:30 in the afternoon, so of course there was a weird smell in the hallway. We finally get to our room and the first light we turn on does not work so the rooms very dim and inviting. The room had a weird new paint, new renovated smell. This hotel should have been closed during these renovations as the conditions are not fit for customers.

Great location. Room was a little too big for the air conditioning unit. Room never made it below 80 degrees F.

This Holiday Inn is very nice, but I just can't give 5 stars because of the breakfast time. It would be great if the hot food was served at 6AM not 6:30. Besides they didn't even get the food out until 6:45AM.

The check in was pretty fast, rooms clean, place clean and quiet. Close to the beach!

If you want a cozy place, quiet, with a lot of service and facilities, I recommend you to visit this charming hotel.

I did not like it very much, it's not like other Holiday Inn.

I can't believe their Wifi was down during the hurricane. Especially after you can control the hotel from your phone.

In need of some updates

Just checked in this evening. My husband and I were supposed to have arrived 6 hours ago but due to the luxury of flight travel ... just kidding ... we just made it to the hotel and checked in. Eddie greeted us at the front door and he was absolutely one of the best, if not the best front desk clerk I have ever interacted with. He was very welcoming and actually went the extra mile to help try to locate/track down my luggage that was routed to a different airport and on a different airline. It s good to know there are still good people out there that go the extra mile.

So first off we get our card and headed to our room as we open the door a man comes running to it in his underwear to stop us some how they double booked the room. The staff really had no clue what they where doing it seemed like. The hotel has no aged well the place is in need of a remodel. Also the lobby is nice and cool but when you get off the elevator it's about 80 degrees in the hall.

I have stayed in holiday inns up and down the East and West coast this week. Tonight my last night of travel was completely unexpected. Every other ihg Holiday inn was amazing. Until tonight. We didn't even take our bags off the rack before we noticed weird little worms . Then saw a "bug" run across the room. That was after I called front desk bc room was so hot. We moved rooms . Seemed better, smelled better and was not steamy hot. Before I could move my suitcase another bug ran across the wall. I had it. It was 900 pm I had my parents and six year old with me. We left and went to a Marriott where I could not use my ihg points but was not about to travel all over . We are platinum members and I have never once had such a bad experience. The front desk woman was very nice and helpful I also found it nice her and the service guy came and checked it out to make sure I was not nuts and agreed . Next time I will read the reviews before booking . Hope this long review saves a family from a waste of time and money

We spent 2 nights at this location. The staff was very courteous. Hotel was very clean. Our room was perfect.
All of the equipment in the workout room actually worked and the room temperature was pleasant to work out in. The pool was small and not alot of.seating around the pool. The only negative thing was that all of the hallways were very hot. It felt like there was no airconditioning in the halls. Otherwise, I would definitely stay there again. Pretty close to city centre which is a lot of fun.

The hotel is clean and quite nice, but the complimentary breakfast is more of a grab and go bar, not at all what you see in the pictures shared by the hotel.

Clean and neat although the bead wasn't as comfortable as I'm a custom to having in a holiday Inn express.

I had roaches in my room and the pool is the smallest one I've ever seen. The person serving breakfast was rude when I asked if there would be more food coming as everything was pretty much gone. Bed was comfortable and tv was nice. I'm a vacation club owner and I'd expect way more from a holiday in express.

Great location minutes from the interstate and multiple restaurants. Easy to get in and out without having to worry about traffic. Rooms are cleaned and they have a good breakfast..specially their cinnamon rolls.

I have stayed at this particular hotel on several occasions and have always receive great service. On my current stay Dec 26 2014- Jan 1, 2015 a young woman name Imelda was VERY helpful and accommodating at the breakfast bar. The dinning area had run out of seating and she came up to me to assist me even though I had not ask for help with seating- she took me to another area where there were plenty of seats. This suggested to me that she was being very attentive in observing the needs of the residents- that really impressed me. All of the staff members was super helpful and the cleaning crew/ maids did an excellent job maintaining the room.

This hotel should be designated 1 star and dropped from IHG franchise; one would think given the zip code your in a relatively prosperous area, renter beware the rooms are terribly outdated, ownership only cares about extracting profits and not investing in a quality product. Vehicles are routinely broken into in their parking lot and they try and absolve themselves of any liability, to that end they have hired an overzealous, 'rent a cop,' private security service who patrol the site with a reckless abandon, harassing legitimate patrons and letting vagrants loiter on and near the property looking for vulnerable 'targets;' do yourself a favor and pick any other IHG property in the vicinity, there is incredible mismanagement at this property and the service product will leave you with little to no value, especially if you've been price gouged for a poor quality accommodation and you wake up to a vandalized vehicle and unsympathetic, aloof ownership.

Super comfy. Really great night sleep. Clean, small but nice pool, pleasant staff. Breakfast was great. Even my little picky eater had plenty she liked. Totally recommend.

I cannot give it a zero. I objected to an addition fee they wanted me to put on my credit card at check in and they would not allow me to check in. I am expecting them to still charge me for the room anyway. I will have to wait to see if they will.

I know they are renovating, at this time it's a bit expensive for what it is.

The guy was very unprofessional and had a mouth full of food when he came to the desk.

They always say they're sold out but somehow seem to find a $300 a night suite. I call BS.

Hotel appears to be undergoing much needed renovations. It's your standard Holiday Inn Express.

Very impressed! Got here super early, and house keeping rushed and got us on a room. Super friendly...doesn't smell bad like other hotels we've been staying at. Very clean, modern, fresh coffee with flavored creamers all day. Very happy with this choice.

We have stayed here before. The staff is always accommodating, the rooms are roomy and clean.

Our cousin had a baby shown there and it was a nice room, clean and perfect for the occasion.

Relatively new building. Small, clean swimming pool. Good, assorted breakfast. I do, however, think it's time for a deep carpet cleaning throughout the entire building. Close to amenities.

Me and my family had a horrible experience. When we walked in the building it had a very strong bad odor in the entire building. We were grossed out and wearing a face mask it was that strong of a smell you can still smell it. We were hoping when we get in our room that it wouldn t smell bad like it did at the front desk but unfortunately it stunk pretty bad in the room no ventilation. It s the entire building. The staff there were friendly it s just the hotel stay experience was just not good at all. The entire building stink so bad and we had to buy air freshener to put in our room. My recommendation is that they pull out the carpets and put in a new one because I believe the hotel needs a makeover. Also, there were pubic hair on the bed, it was pretty disgusting. The refrigerator in the room was not cold at all. My brothers ice cream melted. The food was not that great. It was below average. You be better off going to McDonald s for breakfast. I felt very bad for having my family come stay there. Had I known I would have never booked a reservation at that hotel but the photos tricked me into thinking it was a nice, clean, fresh hotel. It was the total opposite don t get fooled by their fake photoshop photos they post on their website. Come to find it was the worst place ever. We had asked to cancel our reservation and to find another better hotel but the front desk guy stated we MUST stay at least one night so therefore we had no choice but to check in and stay there our entire trip because what s the point of looking if we will stay there a night anyway, we didn t want to waste time having to look around for another hotel since it was a short stay anyway. We had a 5 year old child with us as well and to have to smell all that strong nasty odor the entire stay ruined our time in Florida for our mini family vacation. NEVER again will we ever stay at that hotel!!! I hope people read this because you will regret staying at this hotel just FYI....

Great deal of patience and professionalism from desk clerk, even with all of the complicated checking he had before me... Had to wait almost 15mins, but he was doing a fantastic job...

Mostly clean, dirty duvet. Loose toilet seat,only warm water from the tap. Otherwise clean and staff was very pleasant to interact with.

Not the best IHG hotel. Not bad. Not great. Bad corner for entering & exiting. Convenient location overall. Had to have TV repaired during an overnight stay as either the maid or the previous occupant stole cords from the tv. Maintenance was quick and nice. Not spotless. Queen beds could be replaced soon. Breakfast same as all other HI express I have stayed at recently. Elevator probably going to break soon. Great price for location

Pretty dirty hotel. All the floors were always sticky. No a/c in any hallway.

The sunken beds, dirty carpet, detached wall outlets, and 1950s decor was depressing enough that I drank the bourbon I intended on bringing back home with me.

This site offers Clean rooms, friendly staff, and a pool. With the airport 10 minutes away, this location provided a great stay for in town work. The complimentary breakfast was great. Would definitely stay here again.

Nice clean room, but we stayed in the handicapped room and it was terribly noisy; next to the ice machine and gym entrance.

Stay was so nice,they are great! Clean rooms very attentive, they even welcome you with soft cookies and coffee. Plus free breakfast. Pool area is nice...I cant complain. Thank you so much for the staff that made my family and me feel welcome ! Thank u soooo much

Not to mention that this hotel in in the process of being remodeled, they also apparently condone marijuana smoking in the rooms because the 3rd floor is full of smoke for the second day. I complained about it the first day I was here and nothing was done. Not going to bother doing it again. I won't be back. Being a spire member, this offends me to no end. The management needs to be replaced.

Great rooms! Very clean and Awesome Customer Service .

The staff is friendly, once they notice you or you find them. The building is a bit run down. We stayed the night before in a different Holiday Inn Express and this one looks poor in relation. Also, don't expect much of a closet.

Nice staff. Room was a bit dirty and towels had stains. But over all quite place.

The hotel deducts you have smoked !!!!!!!

The hotel deducted the amount from the credit card twice and then cooked you had smoked, and that as a non-smoker !!
Attention to this hotel !! It is also a very old and damp smelling hotel on the highway

Located close to I-95 which makes it easy to get just about anywhere. The bed was comfortable and relaxing at the end of our long days. The receptionist at the front (I don't remember her name unfortunately) gave my wife and I some fantastic restaurant suggestions.

Bed was clean, friendly staff, disgusting hair dryer with stray hairs and sticky gunk on the handle. Do not recommend if you are squeamish.
