Cozy and comfortable accommodations. Reasonable price for a 3-star hotel. The service and wait at the grill is very long, but the food is surprisingly alright. Would definitely come back.

Clean rooms, lots of noise from the highway. Elevator was broken several times during my stay.
Decent hotel, not the cleanest or newest holiday inn Express but gets the job done
I want to give them 0 stars . BEWARE!!! Do Not stay here. They have an infestation of ROACHES!!! Its so nasty . If you don t want roaches crawling in your mouth when you sleep don t stay here. It smells like smoke. The carpet has nasty spots in it . Its the worst .Ewwwww.
I won't be staying here again...Good luck..
It was a definite rip off....
Fridge was a bit loud. Rooms look recently refreshed and were clean. Mattress was comfortable.
Clean and comfortable...Good location..Close to shops and food
I made reservations and the lady i talked to said I could choose to pay extra for breakfast or not so we paid the extra for our family, we get to the hotel and tge receptionist gives my husband the room numbers and keys. We go up to the rooms unlock our door and someone is already in the room we were given a key to with their stuffat 10 at night. My husband had to go get us a different room and for our inconvenience she gave us free breakfast, I went down explained to her that the lady i made the reservation with already said we got our breakfast and she said no we didn't, ok whatever. I come to the room the room stinks, the bathroom smells really musty, there is pieces of long black hair on my bed (GROSS).
1. RESERVATION people need to get their stuff together
2. This Holiday Inn needs to clean better
3. Have ice machines available on every floor not just on floor 2
4. The staff is very RUDE AND I HAVE STAYED AT MANY HOLIDAY INNS , THAT'S WHY I THOUGHT THIS ONE WOULD BE OK, NEVER AGAIN AND I WILL TALK TO MANAGEMENT!!
5. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else, if it wasn't for my family I would have slept in my CAR, VERY DISAPPOINTED
Our check in was a nightmare and Ty the guy at the front desk was rude and not polite but Angelica was great she made it all good.Shasta the bar tender was great very helpful and polite.Ty should not be dealing with customers
Hotel experience was ruined by horrible front desk staff and disgusting carpets. I booked this hotel thinking great! Can't go wrong with Holiday Inn. To my surprise the stay was full of disappointment. I checked in late at night with my family of 4. I didn't ask any questions just checked in, with Keith. Keith seemed ok, but didn't seem to be as friendly as a customer service representative should be. Anyway, I got my room super fast and easy. To my surprise Keith gave my family of 4 a single King bed. I immediately returned to the lobby and asked nicely if he could exchange our room for a double Queen bed. Keith didn't skip a beat and said " sorry all sold out for the night". I was a bit disappointed but wasn't surprised as it was late on a Saturday night. I asked Keith if he could accommodate my family with extra bedding to sleep on the floor. Keith said he would only provide blankets as he was unable to provide my a comforter or pillows, another horrible service by Keith. Back in the room I looked for a spot to setup the bedding, but I was disgusted by the horrible conditions the carpet was in. The entire carpet in the room was disgusting. No way were my kids sleeping on that with or without proper bedding. By that time the wife decided to call and reserve another room. Keith answers and tells her that he had both single and double beds! She reserved the double room, which also had disgusting carpets, and we spent the night there. Keith gave my wife my wife the stink eye as she checked in with the other representative at the front desk, as he recognized her. But no reimbursement or apology. We kept both rooms and were able to get 4! Towels between both rooms, unsatisfactory to say the least. Approximately an hour later I ran into room service on the elevator who had our two blankets we had originally asked for. We told room service the blankets weren't needed anymore, and only kept both rooms because my family was exhausted and didn't want to deal with Keith again. Overall the hotel was ok, great location, decent facility just run down. The rooms were ok, just old, main issue were the carpets. Probably the most disappointing Holiday Inn ever. Also not so smoke free the hallway reeked of marijuana. I understand it's legal in California, but standards should be in place for public places, specially for a "smoke free" hotel. Will not be staying there again.
Good basic room, nothing special but nothing bad about it. No bugs. Tiles were broken in some places but overall clean.
So checked into this Holiday Inn on the first day they charge you a $50 deposit on your card. Even if you reserved the hotel from Priceline or other site. Okay so the room was on the 3rd floor upon entering the elevator it seemed shakey even another fella on the elevator was like, "what the hell hope we dont die on this thing". Second we got to the 3rd floor and the doors open and I smell a weird oder sort of moldy. Thats just the 1st sign we were in a low budget hotel. Next came the room, entering the room things looked normal a king sized bed a window looking out. Then its time to get ready to go out and i start to get the iron board ready and plug the iron in and guess what it didnt work. Okay no big deal I call down to get it replaced. So then I decided to make me a pot of coffee and guess what?? the coffee machine did not work. So this time I go down to the front and let them know that first it was the iron and then its the coffee machine. And did they act like they cared??? Nope. They acted like this was a normal thing and just told me they would send another machine to my room.. wow is everything in that room broken. Well not only that but there was cob webs all over. So enough said if you ever go to this hotel and stay in rm 323 becarful. As for me, I will never stay in this run down place ever again.
Clean welcome rooms near the freeway, no Drifters.... easy access to highways San Diego , Beaches, all the sightseeing you need... Excellent
Service was great. Staff was very accommodating with adding another room in without any hassle. Also, it was pretty neat I got the same room that I had recently checked out before again. It's a nice location for a stay in SD.
Close to major highways. Nice rooms with large bathrooms. Close to restaurants. Very friendly staff.
It was a great hotel and the service was excellent. However, there was a slight ant problem that really needs to be taken care of
No free breakfast and pictures show a hot tub but there isn't one.
Decent looking hotel. Somewhat small. Parking lot is also small.
Visiting a good friend and was treated like royalty the great experience Hospitality I mean could be beat I recommend it to anyone
Little outdated plus the elevator broke when we were in it.
Stayed here for the first time. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, and the staff was friendly. Five full stars!
Clean and good service, just the noise in the am, walls are thinner than expected. Pool was clean just not as warm as it should be. There is a lot of homeless people outside the hotel.
TVs are 20 years old cant connect devices to them, they don't have an hdmi port in the year 2019. The janky hdmi converter setup did not work, period. When we called the desk to try to figure out a solution they told us they would call us back. They didn't. We called back and they told us they were on a break, and couldn't help us, so I gave up and bought a TV at Costco.
The shower is only hot or cold no in between. Breakfast is not included. It I felt like they cared I might have given 2 stars. I will not be staying here again.
Hotel was okay but considering the price you have to pay they could at least offer free breakfast.
Our room smelt like mildew which we initally thought was the air conditioner. I turned it off. Then after taking my shoes off we noticed the carpet was wet, we were tired from driving 500 miles and went to bed. Woke up and took care of business came back it smelled horrible... pretty sure the carpet was more wet than the night before but we were leaving at 4am so we toughed it out. When I reported it management they just shrugged, like Oh well.
The whole building has a lingering odor of weed. There were ants in my bathroom and no shelf in the shower. The mini fridge looked like it had never been cleaned. I wouldn t recommend staying here.
Comfy beds. If you have a lot of guests, get the deluxe room
I don't like the check in time 3:00 p.m and check out at 11:00 a.m not what I expected at all
Nice room good service at front desk. No microwave in room but you can request one from the front desk. Plenty of parking.
The staff at the hotel were friendly and accommodating. The on site restaurant however, is terrible. The employees the don't seem to care that people are waiting to be seated despite numerous open tables. They also kept turning on the AC at max to freeze our customers out of the place.
Front desk staff very professional and helpful, had an ac issue and they gave us a different room.
Waited at the front desk for over 20 minutes before someone came in to check me in. The room wasn't worth the price difference to neighboring hotels but it was clean and the beds were comfortable.
My stay at la mesa holiday inn was Awful hospitality awful cookers food tastes like frozen defrosted food and rubbery house keepers never do their job right look under beds you'll find a mess from previous guest the house keepers got is a peeping tom I caught him looking into my daughters room manager Osama is on his crews side instead of guest over all we had bad bad experience their never again will I step feet there
Very close to little shops, easy to navigate! Parking requires a pass and very cold. The room heaters were a savior
Stuff was friendly and nice. An older building but clean. Price was reasonable
Wonderful the service was great the room's are excellent from the first time you walk in. I would tell all my friends about this hotel.
Better than some Holiday inns I have stayed in. Room was clean, parking was easy, staff was helpful and nice.
I would give it negative star if I can. Please believe the reviews, it s the worst hotel I ever stayed in, the air conditioners do not work. Water is set to be out, rude front desk. I am platinum member in IHG and didn t expect this bad experience , bringing my parents and my son was a BIG mistake.
I called them about a charge that was on my account and didn't take it seriously as I heard the "manger" laugh with others. I stayed last week. They took a long time to figure out how I got charged? I don't see how? That doesn't happen on accident... they charged me over $80 on top of a security deposit. They failed to tell me what the charge was even for. Got money back just the other day..
On my daughters graduation., and all the family stay at the hotel, my baby girl is manager an a hotel and she make the arrangement.
It was so good and all workers are nice but one thing is they should add a SPA and cheap but amazing.
I stayed here for my birthday weekend and got lots of warm birthday wishes and even a free slice of chocolate cake! The lady at the front (i wish i remembered her name!) was SUPER sweet and extremely accommodating. Will definitely stay here next time I'm visiting San Diego!
Beautiful space nice restaurant and attractive surroundings
Excellent location, good attention when registering, clean room, just a detail, when accessing the room and taking the elevator the garbage container was full and garbage lying on the floor which gave a bad appearance and bad impression
The rooms looked nothing like advertised. Carpets were filthy windows did not open a/c blew extremely cold or off. The bathroom linen had stains so did the sheets. When I called the front desk I was sent to voicemail, went down physically to speak to someone and ask for Room change because the carpet was so horrible and room had a mildew odpr I was told all of the carpets are the same. Staff was as kind as could be the facility was simply Was on the verge of delapidation
Very easy to locate. Staff is friendly. Rooms are very clean and spacious. Comfy beds. Bathrooms are nice. Cheap for a holiday inn. Parking is bad tho. Only one entrance and no continental breakfast
The hotel is in a good location. There's adequate parking available that doesn't need to be validated. The food that's served is well prepared. Good hotel overall.
Clean hotel room in a great area. Close to freeway n other stores.
Hillary took real good care of us, we had 2 rooms on 2 different floors, when we checked in that's all they had available, I bumped in to the mgr in the elevator, had some small talk, mentioned to her I was bummed about not being on the same floor as the rest of our family, she called the room in less than 5mins and made magic happen, right across the hallway! Talk about turning that frown upside down in a major way!! Great customer service rite there!!!
The front desk agent was great while checking in and leaving. The hotel room was clean and there was a great restuarant thats open 24 hrs next door which was great. It would have been great if the room was aerated. The window unit was ok but still stagnant air. Also the faucet in the bathroom was wobbly and not on too tight.
Good location, free parking, decent price, and decent sized room. My only issue this time was that the room smelled a little odd (was it the ac?)
Nice clean rooms. Courteous staff. Definitely recommend.
Rooms was clean and spacious, we had the suite with 2 king beds. Check in staff was very cheerful and courteous. Parking is a little wonky, but no big deal.
Well, the first room had ants in the bathroom and on the bed. The second room is a jr. suite and had a plastic bag on the smoke detector. The hotel staff is nice and the outside seems well kept, but the two rooms I saw were average.
The room was dirty with large questionable stains on the floor, bedding had cigarette burns, but it was clean. Due to COVID, I sanitized all the surfaces, but was still just very uncomfortable. People in the parking lot were not wearing masks as they were milling around and strangely, there were random people just coming in and out of the parking lot, sifting through trash in their car and doing other strange activity. People were yelling and fighting in the parking lot and in their rooms. We had to leave the TV on all night because the walls are paper thin and you could hear EVERYTHING happening next door. Loud talking, very clear conversation. Overall, the vibe at this hotel does not feel good, especially with people wandering through the parking lot all night. We were supposed to stay 3 nights, but left after the first because it was terrible. I'd recommend staying elsewhere.
Good basic hotel. Nice, clean room with plenty of space and a Keurig for morning coffee.
Fitness room only has a treadmill and bycicle no actual weights as in the picture. Very strange layout hard to get around. Breakfast if you pay for it is very slow had to change rooms as ac did not work
a little old and not really the room described for a suite... we just stayed the night and went our ways without compliant because it was a 1 night stay...
The room and bathroom were clean... Great service at front desk, Good area and close to the Frwy.
Location was good. Clean rooms and great customer service. La Mesa grill is a bit of erpriced for the quality.
La Mesa building I was room 320 and not really to much needes service I was hardly home
Great staff
Good value
Needs more hygiene products such as soap bars shampoo conditioner one towel specifically for the tub. Didnt get that in my stay. Front desk doesn't pick up the phone when calling from the room phone
Room was very clean and comfy. Hotel staff were very attentive. I will be straying there again.
It's a good three star hotel. Rooms are consistent and nice. Location is good if you have a car
Great people, clean rooms. Lots of space, very comfortable.
The staff are pleasant and the rooms are tidy, but some details are rough like used toiletries and wall scuffs. None of the rooms have bathtubs which is a bummer. The lobby is nice and the cucumber water is a nice touch. It's close to a lot of shopping and the freeway.
