Have stayed here once a year for past 15 years for work trip. The place is getting a little run down these days. Really needs a re-model makeover. Also, took 30 minutes to check-in because the desk help was over at the restaurant doing something and had a maintenance guy telling guests who were lined up that staff would be available in a few minutes, whihe they weren't.
The biggest disappointment has been the attached restaurant on the property. Was never great, but it was adequate in the past, with a decent breakfast. Today I was asked if I wanted to order off the menu or do the breakfast buffet. I went and looked at the breakfast buffet; half-cooked greasy bacon, watered down scrambled eggs, and cold baked hash brown type potatoes. I decided to order off the menu so I could get a freshly cooked breakfast.
Two minutes after ordering, the kitchen cook comes flying around the corner with a plate of food. It was obvious that he went to the breakfast bar(in another area I could not see) and prepared the plate; half-cooked greasy bacon, watered down eggs that were not edible, and cold previously baked hash brown type potatoes. In addition, the lone wait staff guy was frantic and not covering job duties. I waited 15 minutes to see if he would come back to the table so I could ask him for cream for my coffee. At the 15 minute mark I saw him hustling out the front door with a room service tray, so I gave up on the cream and getting my check n I left all I had, a $20 bill, on the table, overpaying for a breakfast that was not edible by $9.
After 15 years of patronage, I will not be returning to this hotel. Holiday Inn May want to re-assess their franchising of this place. Feels like a Day s Inn to me.
