I love coming here. There are really no BAD seats. If having a partially obstructed view bothers you, then do not pick seats labeled as partially obstructed (but these do tend to be cheaper). However, the theater is small enough that even the top of the gallery feels close enough to the stage. Tip- The bathrooms on the upper levels have smaller lines than the ones on the ground floor. Oh, and be sure to check for shooting stars on the ceiling whole you wait.
Rent was fantastic best I've seen since Broadway NYC
Actor
Cast sang and danced their hearts out !
This is the nicest venue in Houston for Live Theater unfortunately the management of TUTS gets to decide who is allowed to use the venue and for how long. Consequently Houston only gets short engagements with the National Broadway tours that come here.
This is truly one of the great gems of the Houston area. This iconic venue hosts some of the greatest broadway productions that have ever been created. The staff has been continuously impressive and the parking garage immediately adjacent to the center is very convenient. I've only seen a couple of shows here so far, but I'm excited to continue coming for the coming years here in Houston. Thanks so much for making this world a better place through inspirational theater!
Beautiful theater... saw Mama Mia and was blown away
The theater is beautiful. Some of the help was rude. They wouldn't let one patron use the restroom. Very unacceptable. We had a 6 hour drive home, glad we didn t need to go.
Experience culture and music, in the middle of downtown, hard to park
Saw The Book of Mormon here. Great staff and a fantastic show!
Outstanding entertainment venue and customer service. Always a nice treat to be at the Hobby Center.
I brought my family to see Alladin. I had seen it in New York and thoroughly enjoyed it and wanted them to experience the awe and wonder I did. It was my first time attending a show here and I was not disappointed. Nice facility, friendly staff, comfortable seating. Top that with an AWESOME show what more can you ask for!
They claim to have descriptive audio for the blind but after you spend $500 for a seat and get there they tell you it is only on certain nights. Naturally it was not the night I was there.
Lovely theater! Wish people weren't so disrespectful leaving trash everywhere. We saw Aladdin and it was phenomenal!
This theater is great. Honestly probably the best you're going to see in the city. My only issue is it is a pain to drive there and back. Hate downtown traffic.
Visited here for the Trolls Live concert. The overall experience was great. The location offers booster seats, concessions and big restroom facilities.
Had a great time here went to see ZYDECO SOUL CHILD Stage Play
Easy to get to, good parking, and great views from the mezzanine level!
Not a bad seat in the house. Beautiful stages. I love their drink tumblers, very practical. Friendly staff and bartenders! Many parking options, metro rail and bus service are close by.
Saw "An evening with C. S. Lewis ". It was everything we hoped for and more!
I love theatre and this place is very nice and you can really score some cheap seats. They allowed us to move a little closer even though we had seats on the very back row because there were rows and rows of seats in front of us. It was an experience i won't ever forget ( also don't buy concessions because they are very exspensive unless you are reallllly thristy)
Very Nice Theatre. No bad seats, so it seem. I would definitely go see other performances there.
Staff very helpful and pleasant.
It is easy to park and locate theatre .
Great venue, no bad seats. Staff was super friendly & helpful.
Beautiful venue! The Rockettes performance was lovely! The staff are friendly, professional and so helpful.
I visited last night to see the Color Purple. The show was EXCELLENT! The reason I am writing this review is to say thank you to the Amazing manager ( unfortunately I'm unable to remember his name, and I tried calling to get his name but no one was able to help) I had a visibly issues, this manager was so kind and helpful and I cant thank him enough. He really helped to make my experience so enjoyable. I am forever grateful. Great staff! GREAT SERVICE!
excellent plays Anna is a great actress and will go far in her career signed autograph for all my first grade class
We are so lucky to have this level of entertainment at home. This play, The Waitress, was not one of my favorites, bir they do present something for everyone in a season.
Every seat is a great seat...can't wait until my show!
Hobby Center great place for shows and concerts. Season ticket holder for 20 years. Best of Broadway Tours!!!!@ Love Never Dies great show!!!
Love the hobby center, come very often to see shows. Ushers are kind and are very helpful. Venue is clean and well taken care of. Now that they have drinks allowed in the theatre it is way better.
Beautiful theater and location downtown. Plenty of parking for the event and not to hard to get out after the event. The inside foyer is grand and easy to traverse. The only thing I wish is it had multiple bathroom locations. During intermission it was very busy.
I was here to see Hamilton. Needless to say, it was very crowded. They had a very good system to get ladies in & out of the restroom quickly, many bartenders so there was not a long wait and valet went very well considering the crowd size. My only complaint would be our box seats. Due to the speakers needed for this show, the left side of the stage was completely obstructed. Something to think about in the future as those tickets were not cheap. My view of stage is posted.
The Hobby center is a great venue setup to cater to every crowd providing cultural Broadway experience! The valet service is great too, completely eliminates the traffic flow issue of a garage.
Beautiful place. Comfortable seats. Great parking if you have a parking pass.
Sleeping Beauty was a great performance. The whole family enjoyed it.
The shows played there are great. The cost of beverages there is way too high.
I became a season ticket holder for 2016-17 season simply because I want to guarantee the Hamilton ticket for the 2017-18. Apparently I had no idea what I was signing up for. I fell in love with Broadway shows and musicals even before seeing Hamilton!
In case you wonder about parking space, come a little earlier to park on the street if you don't want to pay for valet or garage parking.
It was a great production of Oklahoma and a great facility for the show and the orchestra was very professional.
The parking blows, but the facility is beautiful and the staff is ever-helpful.
Arrive one hour early for: easy parking, no line to get in, order your drink and dinner, easily walk to a table and watch the crowds frantically make their way in. Best way to be comfortable and relaxed without time or schedule as a overbearing issue.
Amazing performance of Wicked! I will never forget it.
I love the hobby center! While the plays rotate, the employees are wonderful! Very nice and helpful!
Went to see The Lion King, it was excellent and recommend everyone to see it.
Saw The Color Purple. Awesome performance and cast.
Great show, fabulous theater but the seats are horribly hard and uncomfortable to sit through the cushions flat and old. I couldn't wait for intermission and then the end. The experience took away from a long awaited show for me and my companions. Phantom of the Opera
Underground parking that connects to venue. Fast drink service. Friendly staff. Seats in mezzanine seem a bit far from stage but not too bad of a view
Have the Broadway series tickets. The facility is top notch. Love having lunch at Diana.
Excellent actors and staging and viewing and facilities, all supported by sensitive and kind staff.
I've seen two shows this year and everything about the organization and run of things is smooth and easy. The people that show you to your seats are generally pretty helpful as well.
I was really hoping for a cavity search, but I know it was the best they could offer, at the time. This place is more fun than airport security, because they aren't FLYING to a place that's fun; they ARE fun. The showing, Bright Star, was an excellent production that I hope will someday be optimistic enough to make us willing to give up ALL our freedoms as we subscribe to the scariest threat, that we imagine this world to be. Pondereth Thomas Jefferson: What pain hath cost us, the evils that have never happened.
Lexus complimentary valet. The ushers are amazing. The drinks are overpriced.
This venue is just the right size. My wife and I love taking a weekend and seeing whatever is here.
Great theatre! The volunteer staff is always friendly and helpful. The bartenders are awesome!!
What a great place to see a performance. We saw Into the Woods. Great view of the city from the balcony.
Excellent selection of musicals and plays throughout the year.
So besides the fact that people can just walk in at any time during a play/musical... Then they don't allow any eating in the theater... Which is hilarious considering I am way more disturbed by people barging in when I'm trying to enjoy a musical... But hey that's just me.
