Would never recommend Hobart Welding school. They care very little about their students and it is a hard environment to get respect in. It is all about the money for them. Most, but not all, instructors are never around and always have to wait and wait for help. The office staff are rude, disrespectful and always pass the buck to someone elses voicemail bc no one wants to take responsibility for anything. Several housing options recommended by the school are deplorable and unsafe, no matter what the home owner tells you on the phone. Some hosing options are no more than a converted closet with holes in the walls, ceilings and doors. Instructors actually make fun of students for a variety of things and are singled out to be embarrassed and made fun of, making for a difficult and hostile learning environment. Instructors also partake in rumor-mongering about students. There is great difficulty calling Hobart office staff as it is constant voicemail walls and only a very long automated attendant to answer. Can never get through to a live person or live switchboard attendent to assist and only option is a huge voicemail wall. Instructors pick students to make fun of. They post a flyer of a student in the teachers lounge and put derogatory remarks on it about the student. It is a very disrespectful environment. True story. Save your money, apply elsewhere. Don't bother with this over priced and disrespectful school. There are many better other welding schools options than this one. Hobart is over priced and overly thought of as 'good quality.' Maybe it was in the past. It is not anymore and is a joke. All they care about now is money. And it shows.

I attended Hobart welding school from 1989-1990 and the school was and is top notch maybe the people who write bad reviews should take a look at them selves may they just can't weld and try to blame the schools prices and the staff saying that they are rude and have attitude as an alumni I enjoyed my schooling and loved the staff and I was treated better than fair

This place is top notch! Find housing before you attend. Get 6G certified. Just learn to backfill tig roots and you'll be production ready for the six figure industrial contracts. Chase that perdiem. Hobart is great, make the most of it.

This is the absolute worst place to go to school. If you need something seriously resolved don't expect them to follow through. My husband had to leave because he was being harassed by one of their instructors. Nothing was done about it and frankly I don't think they cared. Great way to treat a veteran. Pathetic.

Coming from the military, the transition to school can be a little intimidating (not to mention frustrating as hell). While in contact with student services asking for information and requesting help, I genuinely felt like they cared. It was an abnormal experience and one that I'm very glad was available to me. I have not yet started classes, but I'll be sure to update or submit a new review once I've experienced a bit more of the school. I just couldn't let this go unmentioned.

Currently taking the CWI seminar with others from across the country. I am absolutely overwhelmed as are my much more experienced classmates, but if not for what Elmer and Russ have done to ready us, I could easily see me only getting maybe 25% on the final exam. I was told by two other CWIs that if I have any chance of passing my first time, I had to take the Hobart seminar. With what I've seen thus far, THEY WERE RIGHT! Thanks for the help, Hobart!

Took my CWI 0540 course here and the instructors nailed it. I walked away with high scores on both part A and C. Waiting to hear back on part B. I suggest not enrolling in this course without a lot of pre study. If you are trying to become a CWI know the code book your testing on before you go there and be familiar with a lot of the different aspects of welding, metallurgy and DT and NDT methods. This course helped guide me in the direction of being successful Russ and Casey were the instructors and they were beyond great. Just be sure to do your homework every night and study your tail off!

It's a good school, a little overpriced and some classes are too long. You should be able to test out of some parts but overall its good. You take out what you put in so if you don't try then you are wasting your time and money.
