As a Kitchen Design Consultant with Legacy Kitchens, I have had the privilege of working with Astoria Custom Homes for over 10 years. I worked with them on their Show Homes and have also worked with many of their clients. The owners, Jim and Lisa Stinson, are very hands on, and ensure that their customers receive a totally customized home that they are happy with. I would highly recommend Astoria if you are looking for a true custom home builder.
I have been working with Astoria Homes for a few years now. The first thing that jumped out for me about dealing with Astoria is Jim Stinson. As the owner he is very down to earth & hands on in all facets of your potential build. He leads a great team that take the time to listen & ask the right questions. I see the time & detail that they put into my aspect of the business every day. Knowing this is how they operate throughout the company I would have no hesitation on referring them to friends or family.
We are very pleased with the design and quality of our Astoria home. Many aspects of Astoria built homes exceed normal building standards. The owner, Jim Stinson consulted us personally during several stages of our build. He is passionate, genuine, knowledgeable and very experienced. We felt like he was building our home to the high standards he would build his own home. When we had concerns or requested changes, Jim was attentive to our concerns and quick to remedy them.
Jim & Lisa Stinson are very knowledgeable, trustworthy, and build high quality homes. They are a pleasure to deal with. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to built a custom home.
Unfortunately I am not too happy right now this Home builder. I bought a new home in which they installed heating and air conditioning installed by Alberta mountain air.. Neither the builder or this installer indicated that I had to register the furnace within 60 days of moving into my new home so my warranty was reduced from 10 years on parts to 5 years....I just had a major part fail that would have been covered by the warranty but because it was not registered within 60 days the warranty did not cover the part. I have given this installer and the builder the opportunity to resolve this and pay for the part, but they have refused.....I would not use this installer or Astoria homes. I know Astoria is closing down and Jim and Lisa could care less but sometimes it is better to do the right thing. They have chosen not to, but if for some reason they change their tune I will be happy to remove this review.

As a sub trade of Astoria homes my self I can confess without hesitation that they are among the most experienced and quality driven builders around. Jim and Lisa have a team of people that care as much about the homes they are building as the home owners themselves. There's a huge difference when you work with a builder that has the experience and back ground to see problems coming and avoid them before they ever happen. We are currently building a new home with Astoria and in the final 3 months of construction. Throughout the build, from the first shovel of dirt, I have monitored the build process on a DAILY basis paying attention to every detail of construction. All of the team at Astoria from admin to design to supervision to contractors to management have demonstrated the utmost in professionalism, and their years of experience in this business are reflected in the quality of their houses both design and construction. I have the highest regard for every member of the team and am pleased that we chose Astoria as our home builder. I have also had the opportunity to observe other builders in our area and although our decision to use Astoria was well researched, my observations have left me hugely relieved as well. These homes are a significant investment and it is of the utmost important you research your options thoroughly. For us this easily led to choosing Astoria and we would not hesitate to build with them again. UPDATE! Oct 2019 We just completed our 30 day post-possession walk through so we are truly settled in to our new home. I will finish this review by saying that Jim is an exemplary example of a builder of quality homes. His years of experience, attention to detail, vision, construction knowledge, and relationship with his clients result in a beautiful home.
